I while back I tried stripping with Dettol for the first time. It was not pleasant. I've since discovered 'Diggers Paint Cleanup' (made in Oz, but also available in NZ). It doesn't go gloopy, has minimal smell, and I've left plastic in it for a month or two now (too busy to finish the cleaning, sadly) without issue. Blitzer seems like a similar product.
Great review. Stripping paint is always so messy that salvaging old minis generally sits at the bottom of my hobby list but think I’ll give this a go.

I use dettol, because I can get it anywhere.
