I was a young man but old enough to see the terror that was unleashed to our parents, seeing them being frogged marched to the mess so that they can be executed for crimes they did not commit. I recall two years ago having travelled to the village to visit my now retired dad who was in the Airforce and in the evening we talked of these stories. We talked about how they mistreated the then captain Kiluta the former Mp for Masinga may his soul rest in peace, the vengeance, the hatred that army officers had against the Airforce counter parts was on another level. I will never forget that one night it was all silent as we waited for the unexpected when we had the boom and thought the mess had been hit and all our parents were dead only to find in the morning that the bomb had hit the swimming pool water tanks. Army officers went round sweeping all houses looking for our parents in such a ruthless and degrading manner. Soo many things happened in that KAF camp that has never been told but we are here today, and we now tell our kids the stories. I remember Mr Odierro very well, the only reason he was arrested for a long time was so that he doesn't tell the story. You can relate it to recent events where police officers are used to commit murders only for them to be executed so that they don't tell the story. Different stories the same script. This Gov just like any other will use you and dump you.
Why did "Army Officers" hate their "Air force" counterparts?! That time you people were living with your parents in the army barracks?! That is where they are housed with their wives and children?!
Encourage more of these old citizens who were in the system to come out and give us their stories especially those who have been adversely mentioned both by Khwatenge and Hezborn. So many are still alive.

I want to comment Mr.Hesbon Odiero and the interviewer for balanced interview.Odiero is being interviewed 41 years after the act.I like his sharp mind,remembering events,names and ranks .But I respectfull dispute that fighter jets didnt fly to Nairobi on the painful day.Two F 5 fighter jets carrying bombs were comandeered to bomb strategic installations in the city.One was piloted by maj.Dave .Mutua,then the squadron commander and was commandeered at gunpoint by corporal Injeni Jerumani,a Luhyia..The other F5 fighter was piloted by Capt.Mungwanja.The gallant pilots somersauted,flew back and threw the bombs in mt.kenya and landed at KAF NANYUKI safely.its important to understand this happened 41 years ago.We are human and cant remember every detail.rgds

In today's post he narrated how Biwott's family lawyer threatened a lawsuit against NTV after they interviewed him in February 2023, but NTV through their lawyer responded by referring to the Parliamentary Hansard, the TJRC report and other references after which they never heard again from Biwott's family or lawyer.

He is talking of meeting a Mr. Odede at Agip House in March 1993 and mentions Khwatenge whom he calls Okunyanyi, but Khwatenge said repeatedly that he had been sacked from the SB in February 1993 for claims that he was anti Moi.Hezbon also talks of meeting with Odede and others in a place in kariobangi for drinks where they were being lured by the Special Branch using Hezekiah Oyugis name on that day in March 1993. But we know that Hezekiah Oyugi was arrested in 1990 or 1991 in connection with Robert Ouko's death, fell sick while in prison and died shortly after he was released in 1992.

1) 2nd August 1982, Hezbon Odiero arrested and taken to Kamukunji police station and beaten by police and army officers , Khwatenge is a civilian living in Garissa. 2) 28th November 1982, Khwatenge joins Kiganjo Police Training College as a recruit, Hezbon is in police or prisons custody awaiting trial 3) August 1983, Khwatenge completes his Police training and joins the GSU for a year, Hezbon is still in prisons custody awaiting trail. 4) August 1984, Khwatenge is transferred from the GSU to the Special Branch in Lodwar,Hezbon is still in prisons custody 5) 1987 Hezbon is released from prison after his 18 year sentence is reduced having served 4 years and several months 6) February 1993 Khwatenge is sacked from the Special Branch after claims that he was Anti Moi, Hezbon is a free man working with the opposition as a security official. 7) March 1993 Hezbon and his colleagues are lured for drinks by suspected Special Branch officers at their meeting place in Kariobangi, Khwatenge is a civilian having been already been sacked. Can someone explain to me where these two met at Kamukunji police when one was a Military officer and one a civilian or later in 1993 when both were civilians?
Good Interview but unfortunately mzee is all over the place. First of all it seems like he's speaking in parables, going round roundabouts instead of just saying it directly and straight on. Alot of unnecessary side-stories. Secondly, he touches on one subject doesn't even finish on it he's already jumped onto another subject, then proceeds to jump onto a third subject before reverting back to the first subject. All these make it difficult to follow him. All in all, clearly mzee was there and went through a very traumatizing experience.

I want to comment Mr.Hesbon Odiero and the interviewer for balanced interview.Odiero is being interviewed 41 years after the act.I like his sharp mind,remembering events,names and ranks .But I respectfull dispute that fighter jets didnt fly to Nairobi on the painful day.Two F 5 fighter jets carrying bombs were comandeered to bomb strategic installations in the city.One was piloted by maj.Dave .Mutua,then the squadron commander and was commandeered at gunpoint by corporal Injeni Jerumani,a Luhyia..The other F5 fighter was piloted by Capt.Mungwanja.The gallant pilots somersauted,flew back and threw the bombs in mt.kenya and landed at KAF NANYUKI safely.its important to understand this happened 41 years ago.We are human and cant remember every detail.rgds

Moi did his best to ensure the peace talks succeeded but Museveni wanted power for himself and when he saw that their was suspicion and mistrust in the Langi - Acholi alliance in the military due to an Acholi General Tito Okello Lutwa's overthrow of a Langi President Milton Obote, his NRA rebel forces backed by Rwandan exiles led by Fred Rwigyema,counter attacked and on 26th January 1986 over ran Government forces and captured the capital Kampala.
Museveni never intended the peace talks to succeed and you can see why he has ruled that country for close to 38 years now.

Khwatenge is speaking about the things he does because he is confident, having appeared before the TJRC, the Gor Sungu Parliamentary Commission on Robert Ouko's death, BBC , NTV interviews among others. In today's post he narrated how Biwott's family lawyer threatened a lawsuit against NTV after they interviewed him in February 2023, but NTV through their lawyer responded by referring to the Parliamentary Hansard, the TJRC report and other references after which they never heard again from Biwott's family or lawyer.

He is talking of meeting a Mr. Odede at Agip House in March 1993 and mentions Khwatenge whom he calls Okunyanyi, but Khwatenge said repeatedly that he had been sacked from the SB in February 1993 for claims that he was anti Moi.Hezbon also talks of meeting with Odede and others in a place in kariobangi for drinks where they were being lured by the Special Branch using Hezekiah Oyugis name on that day in March 1993. But we know that Hezekiah Oyugi was arrested in 1990 or 1991 in connection with Robert Ouko's death, fell sick while in prison and died shortly after he was released in 1992.

1) 2nd August 1982, Hezbon Odiero arrested and taken to Kamukunji police station and beaten by police and army officers , Khwatenge is a civilian living in Garissa.
2) 28th November 1982, Khwatenge joins Kiganjo Police Training College as a recruit, Hezbon is in police or prisons custody awaiting trial
3) August 1983, Khwatenge completes his Police training and joins the GSU for a year, Hezbon is still in prisons custody awaiting trail.
4) August 1984, Khwatenge is transferred from the GSU to the Special Branch in Lodwar,Hezbon is still in prisons custody
5) 1987 Hezbon is released from prison after his 18 year sentence is reduced having served 4 years and several months
6) February 1993 Khwatenge is sacked from the Special Branch after claims that he was Anti Moi, Hezbon is a free man working with the opposition as a security official.
7) March 1993 Hezbon and his colleagues are lured for drinks by suspected Special Branch officers at their meeting place in Kariobangi, Khwatenge is a civilian having been already been sacked.

Good Interview but unfortunately mzee is all over the place. First of all it seems like he's speaking in parables, going round roundabouts instead of just saying it directly and straight on. Alot of unnecessary side-stories.
Secondly, he touches on one subject doesn't even finish on it he's already jumped onto another subject, then proceeds to jump onto a third subject before reverting back to the first subject. All these make it difficult to follow him.
All in all, clearly mzee was there and went through a very traumatizing experience.
