Growing up now I sometime wonder where all those golden people are gone whom I use to see in my surroundings. I mean I remember from a sales man of a shop to an army captain everyone whom I meet inspired me. Today I found a bunch of those beautiful people under comments section of this song. Look at their words how beautifully carved and the deep thoughts in every line. You can smell the love of true Pakistan in their words. Salam to all of you, my long lost country men.
One of my favorite songs. I used to sing this song in family gatherings back in 80s when I was a teen and lived in Karachi.. I miss those days and Karachi as well.
Sheki brings lots of memories to my mind of my teenage...He was a shining star then & I used to sing his songs in my free time...It's September 2019 & tears in my eyes while listening.
Ohhhhh my God .... OmG ...This marvellous beautiful song by Muhammad Ali Shehki just brings me to tears along with nostalgic feelings of those golden n lovely 1980s era. Amanullah Lodhi Karachi Pakistan
This one makes me cry whilst remembering my childhood. How beautiful were those times, when life used to be so simple... How we lose things and people so dear to us to the relentless waves of time.
Not only they were so handsome smart graceful mature but above all entirely non controversial unstained career holders back in those times like all others
We were working hard on our career as rock legends that we were soon to become... and this song was in our list of bangaways. Some one correctly said that a piece of music is like a time machine, it takes you back to the moment you first listened to it. What you were doing and what was being said and done are all written in the memory. Perhaps the only time machine that can safely move you back and forth without invoking the grandfather paradox !!! Dreams end and we wake up, but sweet taste of youth is mercifully left with us to let us feel what life and living is all about. I saw Shehki a couple of months ago in a fast food outlet in clifton all by himself, completly unpretentious, totally at ease and confident that he was invisible. That changed the rest of gup shup to reminiscing and nostalgic grieving etc. :(
Lived this song and in your letter by reo speedwagon. I used to sing this song as a kid all the time switching between English and urdu when I would forget the words. Listening it today is just so awesome. Nostalgia and happy days when the world was simple and nice. Thanks for posting this.
Tears...because even the old ptv stars starting...English words in their interviews..old ptv stars have also been gripped by the hippocrapte sociery..every one on its own...run nine after wealth..
Those were the days that even the music being so loud and acoustic so poor the voices were deep and melodious and easily make up for any short comings. ❤❤❤❤
ufff yaad taza ho gai..janab fantastic voice is perfect to pop singing voice...82 main pak aaya..I am 6th standard main tha aaj bhi ye tape...meary pass mehfooz hai.....Ali in action......g8 voice aaj tak ye awaaz nahi sunai di....
faisal naseem Hi read your comment on youtube is there any chance u can upload songs of that album and send them too me i have lost my cassette thank u kaz
MrInt30h Shehki did acknowledge that this song was inspired by the REO Speedwagon hit on this show unlike Indian composers like Bappi Lehri (and others today) who rip off songs blatantly and never give credit to the original artist.
@syedmshuaib the name of the song was, "In Your Letter". Shehki acknowledged that he was inspired by this song in the same show that this clip is from (unlike our neighboring composers who never give credit to the original artist and continue to blatantly rip off music in this day and age).
@waqassiddiqui3430 Shehki acknowledged that he was inspired by the REO Speedwagon song in the same show that this clip is from (unlike our neighboring composers who never give credit to the original artist and continue to blatantly rip off music in this day and age).
@hadikorr9030 for your kind information Shehki acknowledged back then that he was inspired by REO Speedwagon's song (In your Letter) back then and very recently in an interview. I'm an ardent fan of REO Speedwagon as well and used to have all of their albums. Shehki unlike shameless ripoff artists like Bappi/Copy Lehri acknowledged that he copied tunes from other artists. Alamgir another great artist acknowledged that as well.

The era of Pakistani pop was awesome- Shehki being Irani and Alamgir being Bengali
Not only they were so handsome smart graceful mature but above all entirely non controversial unstained career holders back in those times like all others
That was the era of more inclusive Pakistani society...it'll all come back, one day!
Both of them are my favorite singers from pakistan.... Though I am Bangladeshi
@@litonsalma9893 is Alamgir popular in Bangladesh since he also sings in Bengali

Although it's copied from Reo Speedwagon's Classic "In your letter" but Shehki managed to pull this off. Great vocal.
