1:35:05 - We forgot to move the Guard on Matt's turn.
Thanks for giving more attention to a fantastic, overlooked game!
Older reviews and play through I'm in ❤️
I love agra! I've sold 90% of the boardgames ive owned, but agra remains! Great video Jon
Wife bought me this for Christmas on the strength of your playthru. Great job, thanks.
Wow, very cool! I hope you enjoy the game.
I'm enjoying these playthru with friends videos. Thank you. I think with this and your Carnegie video it shows how strong Quined games is on heavy euros. I love their games and their productions are great.
These playthroughs are great! 👏
Love to see these playthroughs of "old" games. I'd not heard of the guard variant and as I have only played this one at two players, I look forward to getting a play of it in very soon. Hopefully publishers with a back catalog of games will one day make it more worthwhile for content creators to feature games that came out prior to the next annual next quarter.
Jon these are by far my favorite videos that you make. I appreciate older game playthroughs and you and Matt do such a great job of talking through why you are doing things
Thanks for the kind words, I'm really glad you enjoyed this :)
Stephan Feld's Luna has a bit of "Follow the moving NPC around" vibe to it too.
i love these type of full playthrus. This was a game that slipped under my radar and now I am anxious to play it. It looks like it works really well at two, and while no idea how it plays without the guard, but i REALLY like how the guard '"recycles" workers, and adds a level of planning to try to take advantage of the guard. Simple addition, but really adds to the game.
So, yes, you have added yet another game to my "buy when i see a deal" list...a list that never seems to get shorter.
What he said ^^
I talked about my 2p experience abit here in my review: ua-cam.com/video/wPH4khQouxc/v-deo.html . I really like how the Guard mixes things up at that player count. I genuinely love this game and I'm glad this video has put it onto your radar to try :)
There's a response from Justin Rubin in the chat under the Guard variant on BGG in which he identifies that using Rupees to move the guard was something one could try instead of using resources.
Loved watching the two of you enjoying this game.
Cheers
That's an interesting alternate option, though I don't know if I'd want to dig into the crunching that could entail. Perhaps it wouldn't be too bad.
That was fantastic!! Your games with Matt are so full of joy and enthusiasm, quite infectious. Thank you!
It seemed a few actions/maintenance to-do's were overlooked or forgotten. What's a good way to make sure this happens less often? I'm certainly notorious for this to a much larger degree, so looking to improve my table time.
Thank you again 👏👏👏👏
There isn't really a good way to not miss little things, we just try to do our best. Glad you enjoyed this :)
Love this game thanks to share it...
Great game, using this to help me learn the game toady
Jon this was a really good playthrough. Maybe you could work out this format with some sponsored gigs...no idea if that is even possible, but i would love to see it.
I've actually started proposing this to clients as an option, though none have bit yet.
Suggestion for future. If you are going to put large boards sideway like that, place the bottom of the board on the right of the screen so that it is also on the bottom of phones.
Right now, the bottom of the board is at the top of my phone and it trigger an OCD in my brain.
I second this or rather suggest to not have the rotated view at all. Always threw me off. Apart from that, great runthrough, very much appreciated. Also you and your friend had a nice atmosphere while playing!
Huh, I hadn't thought about it from that perspective. I barely used that "full board" view because it was hard to see what was going on in this one. For some reason it feels more natural for me to have the bottom of a sideways board be on the left side, but i can try to remember to try it on the other side next time. No promises here, but it's something I'll consider more.
I would love to see a second edition of this game with some of its issues fixed.
Yeah, I really wish the back side of the board was more muted with the art and made the mechanical parts pop up more.
Excellent Playthrough! Suggestion: Change/add the title to spell "playthrough" fully. I recommended this game to a friend, but he couldn't find this video on UA-cam. The creative spelling possibly hinders SEO.
I've gone back and forth on this. I may keep playthru in the thumbnail for space, but spelling it out is probably a better idea for the title.
What's the game you mention at the end with moving NPC's?
It's called "Il Vecchio".
1:35:05 I think the guard should have moved?
Good catch, we did forget to move the Guard. I added a correction, thanks!
