What a group of running backs: Wheatley, Biakabutuka, Davis, Powers.
I definitely remember this game. Michigan was up 41-0 at the half. Could've been much worse! The previous week Minnesota beat Purdue in shootout 59-56.
Your videos get me through the off-season. Thank you very much!
23:20 -- fans chanting "block that kick!" for a pending extra point, down by 50
12-0 in the metro dome
Notice the empty seats at 2:26 - I went to one game at the dome ('85) and it just felt sterile. So glad Minnesota has gone back to playing outdoors.
I love during the "update" the ad that you can call a 1-900 # to get "scores and more" for 95 cents a minute. Ah, the days before the internet/cell phones/wifi/etc. Not sure when ESPN2 started but this may have pre-dated that channel as well.
Minnesota would rather forget Jim Wacker -- from 1992 to 1996, his "golden" Gophers went 16-39.
ESPN should have never changed their theme music.
I agree with cmoney, I watch each game a few times lol.

The aforementioned Minnesota - Nebraska matchup of 1983. Nebraska averaged 52 points and 400 rushing yards per game that season; on this day Nebraska would score 21 points in each quarter for a total of 84. The Huskers ran for 600 yards on 55 carries and WB Irving Fryar had 138 receiving yards on just 2 catches. 8 different men scored Nebraska's 12 touchdowns. Nebraska HB Mike Rozier, who went on to win the '83 Heisman, rushed for 196 yards and 3 TDs against the Gophers.
WH, you are awesome!!!!!!
19:08 I don't care if it was 48-7 at the time. That was head-up-your-ass football right there.
I think this might have been the year the internet first started. But I'm sure there were limited things you could find on it at the time.
95 cents a minute. Wow.
@ThoseWhoStayUofM what am i supposed to write on an 18-year-old video of minnesota getting blown out? good game fellas?
why does minnesota always lose by such horrendous margins? in 1983 nebraska beat them in the metrodome 84 - 13
@MGoBlue324 "what am I supposed to write on an 18-year-old video"
something intelligent?
