I’ve new with rabbits and just about to breed my trio. I’m trying to adjust my brain to become accustomed to the harvesting. This was very helpful! Thank you! 🐇🐇🐇You have a good-looking set-up for the bunnies.

My kids have a hard time with processing the rabbits, but they looove the belly-flap jerky 😋

Yes its tough. We have been conditioned to think meat comes from a grocery store. It is good for us to grow our own gardens and meat, as it sounds like you know. Good for you for teaching your kids about it.

Question 🙋‍♂️, can you raise rabbits indoors? Like in an underground bunkers. Do they need to be outside?

Rabbits can be raised indoors but I find most breeders to prefer outdoors due to it being cleener

Hi. I think your videos are very informative and well done, however, I have an issue with keeping rabbits in wire bottom hutches or in a hutch all together. Even if you are planning on harvesting them for their meat, why can't they have more space to run around in until that time? How long do you keep them in their hutch? I'm sorry but I just find that very sad.

    • @DavidN831

    • @jaywoods3508

Its a little sad but if you put them on the ground to hop, they will probably die lretty quick due to worms and other things on the ground. Cages are the best way to keep them healthy. As long as they have a buddy with them in their cage they generally dont look like they want more space. Rabbits naturally like small spaces, like their natural colonies underground. :)

I recommend you clean them the way we clean them in the field when we go rabbit hunting. You simply take your knife and cut from between the legs up to there rib cage. Then grab there front legs and sling them........as if you were going to throw them...........but you do not let go........all the guts fly out and the inside is clean as can be. We put them in our back pack and move on. Just a suggestion............ Question: Do you feed the chickens the rabbit guts? I am told chickens will eat anything.

I’m good at making them happy too but better because I don’t kill them and stuff. Then we’re all happy and I can watch tv with them and feel great because I bought cheaper stuff from the grocery store anyway… because rabbits are stupid to eat of course

Fortunately, breaking the neck is strictly forbidden in my country. In most cases, breaking the neck leads to immediate death. But often not. Think about it, the chance of survival with a broken neck is also quite high in humans. And the problem with the method shown here is that you don't notice at all if the animal is injured but still conscious. The rabbit is then bled out while fully conscious. Nice instructional video, you so-called animal lovers.

Why do you believe that removing the head after the rabbit is dead taints the meat? There is no blood circulating to spread any adrenaline etc
