As Texas Paul points out, whenever we talk to Mexico about the border - migration, drug smuggling, and human trafficking - Mexico comes back to us and asks what we’re going to do about guns being smuggled over the border and sold to cartels. Republicans won’t do anything about that. They never have.
Most if not all of the problems at the border are self inflicted. The situation has been allowed to fester for too long because it’s too valuable as a wedge issue, especially for Republicans, and so border security lacks funding, personnel, and modern technology. Asylum seekers and refugees shouldn’t be punished for fleeing persecution and seeking a safer and better life. And foreign actors are taking advantage of our inaction and nativism, just like they’re doing in Europe.
This is yet another problem we can’t solve without removing Russia-loving MAGA extremists and sycophants from their seats of power. We need to vote blue up and down the ballot, then we need to keep the pressure on Congress to impeach MAGA justices and judges, remove MAGA fascists from Congress, and legislate to reinstate section 3 of the 14th Amendment so that insurrectionists can not run for or hold public office again. The works not over then, but that’s how we get to a functioning government that can create real solutions.

Both of these young men, have a lot of work because of Biden's policies, and purchased their first homes in the last couple years. The whole thing was sad. They have no idea what they don't know.
