  • This is a COMPLETELY UNBIASED RV REVIEW of the 2021 Thor Chateau 22E RV. In this video we take you on a RV tour of the Chateau 22E! We like the decor colors, the fact that this is a drive and park for set up with electric leveling jacks. So easy and it has lots of outside storage. We donʼt love the corner bed access and the small kitchen space with no oven or convection oven.
    The Chateau 22E best suits the weekender/vacationer as it is a fairly tight space but RV Sometimers could totally make it work too. It was perfect for a couple or solo traveler but did have room to accommodate families or guests but we know there are better family floor plans out there.

    Some of the best, most RV experienced, reviewing here, as usual. Well done! Great rig! We have been full-timing for over 5 years now, and have downsized from a diesel pusher to a large 5th wheel, to a tiny 28 ft 5th wheel and now looking for something like this. LOVE the lack of slides for ease of access on the road. I suspect the fuel consumption will be pretty decent. I do prefer the Chevy version of this floor plan to the Ford E van version, as it provides more power, better MPG, a better ride and MUCH better legroom and access from the van to the cockpit. But it is a little longer. Anyway, this is very much on our short list! Thanks for the great review!

    VERY NICE RIG. I would like to see them offer options for the over hang over the cab to be made shorter in height and a little more aerodynamic, and maybe a little on the vertical front edges of the chassis for a little more aerodynamics if at all possible. Other than that, the convection microwave and a diesel generator, for me would make this perfect, but its good the way it is.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 роки тому

      We hear your point about aerodynamics but generally to get this kind of space in a Class C this is how they are built. Now there are some other Class Cs or what are often called B+s that have the kind of hang over the cab you are looking for but they are generally smaller in space. Here is one we have reviewed ua-cam.com/video/Qklmy6b68e8/v-deo.html and there are lots more out there like this we just haven't got to review them all yet. We are working on it. But if you want the bigger space this is how they come. Glad you liked this one too. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

    I know I refer/compare our Surveyor 250 fks to all of these.. so I'll keep going.. this rigs shower has a significant step out/down. As does ours, and with wet feet and no glasses, it's a big step down. We bought a suction cup version grab bar, but it won't stick to the wall paper or textured shower walls.. it works long enough to get out then falls off.. oh well.. this will be similar.. Really like this rig!

    Very nice presentation. I would prefer specs: Bunk size, TV size, dinette sleeping size. Switches??? For what? What type of fan, fantastic fan? I understand you are generalizing but when buying something expensive life a Rv specs are critical. Thank you for your presentation.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 роки тому

      Glad you liked our review but when watching any of our reviews you must always watch the numbers section to get the information you are looking for. We share all of the applicable specs that we can find in this section. It is easy to find as you can click directly to it from the video description, you can scroll through until you see the heading 'The Numbers' in the video and watch from there and our recommended way is to watch the entire video so you don't miss a thing ;) All of the bed sizes you are looking for are in this section. Often the TV size is dependent on what the dealership chooses to put in or is decided upon at the time of purchase. We often do give specifics on switches but really the point of telling you about them is so you know a rig has them, which many don't and we would want you to be aware of that. We try not to drone on about every single detail as that would take too long and be too much information for most people viewing on UA-cam and the value is in knowing that a switch or fan is present and when you go to purchase you should look more closely as to what type of fan or what the switch is for. We totally agree that an RV is a huge expense and should be researched very closely which is why we provide the most detailed unbiased reviews on UA-cam. You can count on us to tell it like it is because it doesn't matter to us if you buy it. Now go back and make sure you get all of the spec info you are looking for. Thanks for watching.

    Great review. We pick up our new Thor Coleman 22EQF tomorrow. It’s our first RV so we’re very excited. Our interior is very close to this one. Although, we do have an oven. Do you happen to know which Thor MotorCoach is closest to ours? (4 season or this one). Also, do the windows all come with screens?
    Thanks for the excellent review!

      Glad you liked it and we are super excited for you to get your new Class C. Get back to us and tell us how it goes and what your first adventure plan is. Yes all windows do come with screens and as for which Thor motorcoach is most similar to yours, we would say the Chateau or the Four Winds. They are all pretty much built the same way with the same materials by pretty much the same people. As for 4 season, none of them are. The Chateau and Four Winds do have a few things as options like heating the tanks with pads and possibly enclosing the valves which we did not see on a quick examine of the Coleman. Hopefully that answers your questions. Let us know if you have more. thanks for watching

      @@DoesSizeMatter I will make a point of sharing our first adventure, although it seems getting possession is the big adventure now. They told me there’s some sort of known issue with the LP tank. They need to replace ours but they’re backordered. So we are still in a holding pattern but it’s better that they caught in now before we ventured out. Take care and thanks again.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 роки тому +1

      @@lonnielewis6800 It's absolutely better that they are fixing things before you take possession. Make sure you do a very detailed head to toe preinspection. Make sure everything works on battery, plugged in and propane, check every tap and drain. They will try to rush you don't bite, tell them to relax and make a list of any deficiencies. I know that is hard when you are excited and just want to get going but doing it now is the best time. If there are minor things you can still take it but make sure it is written down and they agree to fix it at another time and if there are big things don't take it till they fix it. We can't wait to hear about it all and your adventures.

    Hey guys you’re at Fraserway. That’s where my RV is. Hahahahaha Well the one I want is there but I’m not sure I can afford it. If I sell the house and buy a condo then possibly. I just love the smaller of the two different Overlanders. Again I ideally want a four season, 4X4, class C that can sleep 6 if needed. I have also seen the Adventurer but I’d have to load it up with solar. I can live without the 4X4. Can you guys walk through the Overlander for me? I’d like to rent it for a month. I noticed that no one ever mentions the MPG on these RVs. With what's going on with gas prices right now you would think buyers would want to know that.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 роки тому +1

      Yes we do think you are right. It is an important detail especially when trying to make a budget for your RV travel and life. The thing about mileage is that it is kind of subjective. The manufacturer guesstimates one number and then the actual one is determined by how much the vehicle is loaded, how the driver drives It and the places they take it. So it's not a number we would include on new RVs. It is however a number we would include when talking with owners about their experiences. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

    Even if only one person travels in this, they have virtually no sink in bathroom, very limited cooking options, terrible sink in kitchen and effectively no prep room. Missing basics is missing basics. As for corner beds that are impossible to make, just a non-starter. If anyone could find some positive spin on this it's you, but it's still not practical.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 роки тому +2

      We hear you but it is all relative. What works is dependent on what you are comparing to. Small rigs with no slides that are this easy to manage and use are going to have to sacrifice other things. So having 2 made up beds and a dry bath are actually bonuses in our opinion. They may not be big or have as easy of a function as we would like but to have those things we would have to go to a much bigger, more expensive rig with slides. We can't compare apples to oranges right? Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 роки тому +1

      We can understand that these are not features that work for you which is what makes buying an RV so much fun because you have so many other choices that will suit your needs, want and priorities. These things that are bothersome to you, you can easily adjust for and for other people these are not problems at all and this will be a great rig for them. RV Buying is a very individual experience. As for why manufacturers keep using corner beds is because buyers are ok with them. If buyers disliked them so much they would stop buying them and manufacturers would stop making them. For now in these small spaces folks are willing to accept corner beds in order to get other things in their spaces that are bigger needs, wants or priorities to them. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
