Not really. There is an emergency release inside but then you have to force it open and you can force it to close but not lock. It probably wears the motors down.
The buttons are optional. I was also wrong about the keyfob, it seems just hitting the trunk button 3 times also works, though I need to do some more tests. The reason you'd want to install the first button, by the driver, is so you can hit it when you are getting out or so you can open the trunk for someone else. The second button, on the trunk lid, is so you can close the trunk. Without the second button you'd have to use the keyfob after loading which is odd.
@CatInTheHat yeah I don't feel like drilling into the car trim (because I'm terrible at it haha) so it's nice to know that installing the buttons wasn't mandatory, doing it through the logo is enough for me Btw, have you tried testing if pressing the logo when it opens also closes it/stops it? Much appreciated 🙏
I got it from alibaba here's a link x.alibaba.com/Auq9Nv this is not easy to install and requires two custom y harness cables. The instructions are terrible and incomplete
@@berkaykibar5486 x.alibaba.com/AwTp4W?ck=pdp This is a difficult installation. You have to drill holes in the side of the trunk, run power lines and control from front to back
Correction: The dashboard button works with the engine on but the driver's side door must be open.
Great job! Curious if you can still manually open/close the tailgate?

Did you tint the a pillar window?
The a pillar triangle? No, the shop said they don't do it. They were upfront about it and it's small so I didn't care
Do you have to install the buttons or can you just skip them?

@Tariq you can't close it with the logo though, it's in the air and doesn't respond
@@MrTARIQSs you need to drill into the body to mount the struts, it's not that bad
