@@Alexandra-lx4jq They are a lovely couple. I admire Raynor because he has skills I don't have. I identify with Madison because her skills are more like mine.
When it comes to Raynor's demeanor, I think the saying "Still waters run deep" definitely applies. By the way, another option for great coffee is moka pot.
Every time that I see Raynor in one of this series of videos, he always seems to have that "Police Officer Serious Face" where he's received months of training in how to control his outward signs of emotion. That's my silly comment (which still needs to get past the admin, who knows Raynor better than anyone). My serious comment is that this series of videos shows the standard of excellence that Raynor and team have, and how they also know how to network and have fun very well. Oh, and how they all work as a team, all working towards the success of the enterprise. I wish the V&M team all the best for continued success and happiness.
Use a paper towel or coffee pot filter tied in the French press( their paper. And don’t take up a lot of room and can be used to clean windows Etc. And they are fairly cheap too. . It’s so much easier to clean up. Just pull the coffee filter out. And rinse out the press. I use mine almost daily
I love watching Cruz discover things. No matter what he's doing it's entertaining. My favorite thing on the planet was Cruz and the manhole covers. I really enjoy these videos you just never know what is going to come up and each thing is a learning experience.
Your neck pillow would be comfier if you put a pillowcase on it. Just an idea, I use a bone pillow for my neck and I put a pillow case on it so you don't feel the fabric bumps so much.
I'm not going through the best time right now. I live in my van which is as basic as you can get. Watching your videos is awesome man. Its comforting. Sounds lame I know but its true. I'm an English lad and just now I'm in Cardiff, Wales.
Hi from Calgary! I watch Chrome all the time, but I occasionally get a random Vanlife channel pop up. I’ve seen at least one out your way, and if you look for them I’m sure you could find some company. Having a community can cheer you up at times. 🤗 hang in there
Somewhere in your food travels, you may run into a lid the same size as the maple syrup one, just swap them. I love my french press. I use it for tea & infusions. Some folks actually use it to make oat milks. Leftover oats go into burgers or soups. Stay awesome!!❤️❤️
Raynor is smiling ., always love to see you , cruz, emi and the rest of the gang working on your and emi vans. Wow a lot of upgrades in your van keep smiling and stay blessed Cruz is the man
Get an aeropress for your coffee!!! I went from a French press to the aeropress, and it’s much easier in a small space. You do need filters, but you won’t waste as much water once you get it down. I’ve got a great “recipe” I’ve worked out using it.
Hi Chrome! You and Cruz just make me smile!! I just started watching you and Emi a few months back, so I am in the process of catching up on all my lost Vancity Vanlfe vids. I just warched the one last night of where you lost Disco Bear! I was sobbing my eyes out! 😒😥🥺😭But... then I watched were you picked up our Mr. Cruz and brought him home! My tears dried up pretty fast! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our Cruz he's holding down the bed so it doesn't get away!!!!! Poor Raynor his life will be so boring when you and Emi leave! LOL! Thanks for another wonderful video! Blessings and safe travels!
once a van lifer, always a van lifer. Its both a lifestyle and a hobby. In my case, its for fun camping and emergencies. Love your videos homie! Peace.
Glad to see you are getting things done to your van that makes van life a little easier. Can't wait to see you Chrome rockin your red Buffalo check onesie. I'm sure you will be toasty in it. Did you get your replacement fridge yet?? See you in the next video.
It’s awesome that you can get all the electrical done before heading home 😊Happy for you and Emi to be getting your vans taken care of. It such a good feeling to know the homes are safe and the van part is running smoothly. Be safe and happy travels.
_Thick in the rear_ ….hummmm … (wink) lol Raynor & Madison from Ray Outfitted are Super Awesome!! Their latest video is very informative & a must see 👀 🫵
I had a glass French press originally it was a lot thinner and cheaper than the one you have probably I broke it while washing it and ended up with stitches in a couple fingers long story short I went on Amazon and got me a nice stainless steel French press that I've had for years now and I love it!
When I first saw the red light in the back of your van I thought u had a fish tank lol. I'm so pleased u are getting your van sorted. Raynor is such a clever man xx
Hey chrome that’s awesome you’re adding the more batteries more power and all the little upgrades to your home that is amazing you and cruz always make my day looking forward to your next adventure be safe have fun 🇺🇸♥️✌️👍🙂🐾🐾🚐🇨🇦
I understand it’s harder to make the bed. I hope the bed stays together longer for you. My husband tears up the bed every night. I made improvements but over the years he continues to worsen.
Always love watching your UA-cam channel listen what you saying your everyday lifestyle give me comfort thank you so much, for sharing everything your lifestyle and Ammie!🥰😘👍
You van lifers don't give Raynor a chance to smile - you really keep him so busy - I have never seen someone who knows his stuff like Raynor. How blessed you van lifers are to know him. What a champion!!!!!
Awesome video. Yes I have some cleaning up too do also. When we lived in small place. Better not too have to much. That thunder ⛈️⚡ sounds wicked. French pressed yummy 😋 fresh coffee ☕.
I was wondering if it would be worth it for you to buy a flexible solar panel or two and attach it (them) to the top of your rooftop cargo carrier. It might help keep those new batteries charged up when you're not running around so much.
To avoid french press water waste, just dump the grinds and wipe it out. let it dry and dry brush the left over grounds off. wash the oils off once per week in warm soap water. OR try a Mocha Pot! Its even better than a french press and easier.
Have you heard of the "Gunson therapy"? Exponents of it, using using warm cofee and enema equipment thrive on coffee enemas and highly recommend it. Perhaps it could be a use for your coffee clean-up from the "presse francais"?
You will need to get or create a pillowcase for that formed pillow if you're keeping it. Glad to see you doing the french press... you can always switch between that and pourover depending on the circumstances of the day and the water. Nice upgrades happening... and almost time to move on. :)
I'm not sure how it would work with your neck but I've seen some people roll up (clean) extra towel or tee shirts, pit them in a cloth zippered bag and use that as a pillow.
I store pants, T-shirts, hoodies, etc, rolled up in a hammock strung high fore and aft or athwartship in our camper. On boats, we would also store potatoes, carrots, loaves of unsliced bread, etc. for long voyages.
CHROME!!!! long time subscriber here, I just came across something I think you will really like for COFFEE BREWING!!!!! it is a straw that eliminates the need for brewers (like the pour over or french press) it is called "JoGo" it is a straw (stainless steel) with a filter on the end, you just put your measured coffee (or anything else, like tea leaves) in your cup and pour hot water over it, then when proper time has passed you simply drink through the straw.... quite ingenious, I am going to buy one for myself today!
This week I switched from pour over to French press and the coffee is amazing, and also being able to make loose tea in it is a bonus! I am remote living and water is an issue as well. I’ve been trying to figure out the most conservative way to deal with it. So far dumping it out and wiping it with a damp paper towel seems to be working the best.
French press is legit, I’ll crush beans put them in mason jar full of water and let sit for a couple days then use a French press for cold brew. Absolutely amazing! 😎👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻
For French press let boiling water wait off heat . almost a minute before pouring onto coffee then after 2 minutes stir the floating top that forms and return lid till 4 minutes then press plunger.
Thanks for french press comments. Use mine daily at home, great coffee! But wondering about van life practicality. I will consider Aero Press for future full-time living on the road.
I started with a french press, but I moved to an American Press which is the same basic principle, but the beans are enclosed in a cup that can be easy emptied. No cleanup compared to the French Press.
Wash the maple syrup Lid Just wash it will seal French press don’t use the top just let it sit couple minutes staring it every once in a while and then pour it slowly into the cup 😊
I saw one of your torque wrenches at your shop that was not set back to zero, the one in your rooftop carrier should also be set to zero when not in use. If you leave them set on a torque value they are not as accurate. Just an fyi for you.
They are such great shop owners very nice and great 1st impression is true . I’f he told me it will $200 more than the other shop I wouldn’t second guess him at all and say do it .
Raynor is just an introvert, he’s cool. Man of many talents.
Raynor is an awesome guy.
@@Alexandra-lx4jq They are a lovely couple. I admire Raynor because he has skills I don't have. I identify with Madison because her skills are more like mine.
That's not same dog u started van life with chrome 5 yrs ago he had different name disco
I like that Raynor isn't always smiling or grinning. It gives him a mysterious and interesting quality. Very cool 😎.

Hell yeah, James Hoffman! That dude knows coffee science and brewing equipment like no one else!
Try the aeropress
Raynor is a pretty serious guy, but we have seen him smile in person. 🍺 😉
What a gem Raynor and his company is!!

Raynor and His wife ( sorry I forget her name) are awesome! Great and talented people.
Chrome, once you open a suryup container it should be stored in the fridge, otherwise it will start getting moldy.
You've come along way ba-by!

I love tinkering with the little 1% improvements. They’re the most fun.
Check into a aero press. Cleanup is a breeze.

The sounds Cruzie makes🤣💙
Fun to see you watching James Hoffmann’s channel for his French Press instructions. He knows coffee like nobody’s business! ☕️☕️ cheers!
What about making the roof taller, so your not on your knees so much!! Like your video's.

Maybe try to find something that you could put that bottle syrup into that holds it a little better you know more securely upright
Wow I'm so behind on your videos. I'm like. Wait isn't that a new mattress lol. What mattress is that? It looks nice.
Awesome upgrade ideas! Maybe keep the switches up high so they don't accidently get turned on by things on the floor.
Thank you Chrome, love your upgrades.
Zip your maple syrup into a ziplock bag to stand in! Saves some work!
What about a mini wind turbine keep your battery's top up and drop it down when you don't need it ❤️👍👍👍👍
Thanks for french press comments. Use mine daily at home, great coffee! But wondering about van life practicality. I will consider Aero Press for future full-time living on the road.
Just installed my SOK and Renogy controller last weekend, what a game changer!
Bryan from Vancouver
Used a French press for the first time 6 yrs ago and nvr turn back. Love it!
James Hoffmann and Chrome... what a combo!
I am glad you decided to start using a French press to brew coffee, but the cleaning is a bit of a challenge 😀
I started with a french press, but I moved to an American Press which is the same basic principle, but the beans are enclosed in a cup that can be easy emptied. No cleanup compared to the French Press.
Interview an organizer on your travels. It will help everyone to organize the inside of their vans.
Hi Chrome ….have you given an update on your fridge?? Did u get it fixed? or replaced ?
Wash the maple syrup
Lid
Just wash it will seal
French press don’t use the top just let it sit couple minutes staring it every once in a while and then pour it slowly into the cup
😊
I saw one of your torque wrenches at your shop that was not set back to zero, the one in your rooftop carrier should also be set to zero when not in use. If you leave them set on a torque value they are not as accurate. Just an fyi for you.
I love to watch James Hoffmann and his coffee
Don't do it chrome ..don't put the dash cluster back in ...Bing...Bing...Bing...please do t do it ..lol..lol..love from Australia 🇦🇺
Put your winter duvet in a plastic bag before it goes in the storage to keep it from getting wasted!
Should consider a pop too conversion so can stand especially in the back country
Wonder what 2018 Chrome would say to present day Chrome about the evolution of the van.
An awesome thought:
2018: “you’re getting it done, I’m proud of you!”
2022: “we’re learning and improving everyday!”
I got rid of my pillow like that it hurt my neck. I got a buckwheat hull pillow. My neck no longer hurts.
Why not get a all / most in one display control panel instead of a bunch of different switches
I use an air compressor to clean my French press! Keep the press!
have you tried an Aeropress for coffee? I love mine! And minimal cleanup
I said it before and I’ll say it again, look at the aeropress for the coffee way easier to clean up
Put your maple syrup in a Ziploc lock bag...but stand it up.
I was thinking the same. 👍
They are such great shop owners very nice and great 1st impression is true . I’f he told me it will $200 more than the other shop I wouldn’t second guess him at all and say do it .
Enjoy your upgrades
“Hey! What you doing to that tire”. Then sexy music plays Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
