Hey, I don't care about blame, I just want you and Cruz to have your best life! This is another step towards that! Way to go you! And I so love the idea of adding the extra fans in there, I'll probably do something similar with mine now that I think of it. You may way to have Raynor add a temperature controlled relay to those fans so they don't run all the time, that will save power, and make the fans last longer. A temp controlled relay will turn the fans on when it's warm in the compartment and off when the temp goes down. Easy and cheap to do! Enjoy!
Chrome, Ray is an unbelievable resource and extremely professional custom work like I have never seen!! You are very lucky to have that guy working on your home!!! Excellent, excellent, work!!
@@theippster8891 We haven't filmed a van build series YET but we recently uploaded a series where we take apart a failed "pro build" that was brought to us for repairs. In planning stages on another series. :)

REALLY enjoy your videos with Raynor and crew. They’re so knowledgeable and talented!!! Great job on the execution of this video! It’s a tough job sometimes with sponsors and keeping them happy whilst being true to yourself and subs. Excellente!!!👍
Chrome, I work for a competing fridge company and I will tell you it’s NOT the circulation. Lack of airflow will cause the compressor to not cool efficiently..that’s it. The condenser coil needs to be clean too. The thermoresistor(s) are probably simply defective..it happens. When you set the temp, your changing the amount of resistance to the sensor. Lower temp setting, more allowable resistantance. Once the resistance is achieved it shuts off. These newer fridges today are all solid state electronics and on occasion defects happen. What you did with airflow will certainly help it run more efficiently, but it won’t change the nature of the electronics. Hope this helps pal!
I think it was a mechanical problem. No ones fault really. Thank God you have Raynor to do all those awesome things when you need it. How many people would have some one be able to mount fans inside of a fridge to circulate air flow.....Really happy you finally got the replacement. I hope when ICECO figures out what the problem was if they do, they let you know. I just love how inquisitive Cruz can be.
Since these fridges are designed for use in hot, humid spaces like garages and RVs, I can't imagine it was not just a lemon unit. Glad you got a new one finally and hope it lasts ten years!
After all that, it could be that you got a broken refrigerator in the first place. It was a whole saga; not just getting a new fridge, but discovering what went wrong with the last one.
It would be so cool if Raynor could do a one on one and talk about his creative process. This guy takes pimp my ride to a whole new level. Stay blessed guys. One love from beautiful Trinidad and Tobago ❤ 🇹🇹.
I never thought the screws were a problem. The air flow was what I'd have guessed. Was pleasantly surprised as how clean it was on the inside. I'd have expected, like others, for it to be packed with dust, dirt, fuzz, dog hair, etc. The question of air flow would be answered, I'd think and hope, in the manual. Appliances like this usually include specs for clearance for the exact reason of minimum ventilation. Hope Iceco lets Chrome know and is ok with him letting us know. And hopefully it was just one in a thousand units made by the new guy, late on a Friday, before a long weekend.
I got a 68 quart IceCo and one side stopped working and I posted it on a FB van groups and a guy told me a trick to make both sides work again. I have areas to vent and have been very happy ! I’ve missed your videos. Hope the new fridge works great for you. I’m so glad I am not spending $75.00 a month on ice anymore !
Veggies, berries and beer. Oh my! xD So glad you got the new fridge and that Raynor did fabulous work to secure it without drilling into the fridge itself. Yay!
It's the location the fridge is . the end of your van is very bouncy. Put a padding to soften the bounce will help the fridge last longer . Put a cushion under your fridge.
Raynor and Madison are an amazing young couple making strides in business and an alternative way of living. So happy you finally have your new fridge Chrome and BTW try saying veggies, berries and beer 3 times fast! What a tongue twister😀.
When sending back old one, should leave exactly as you had it will all changes you made. This way they can see exactly how you had it including screws so they can test to see if they have a design flaw. Help them help you.
Ideas on how you might be able to secure the fridge. One is to use Velcro, attach it to the bottom, they have rolls that are 38mm wide and have a self sticking back that can hold allot of weight. or you can use one of those ratchet straps with a buckle that goes over the top. screw the strap down under the fridge run the strap over the top and "that's not going anywhere"
I'm still plugging along with my Coleman 5-day ice cooler. Nothing to fail on it! Ha! Just have to get ice every 5 days, but I'm at the store getting food anyhow...
--- I had 1 of those Coleman Extreme Coolers... Awesome product for us who don't earn from UA-cam $75,000+++ annually like these guys. This van dweller could only afford a 12"Hx 15"L x 10"W from Walmart....holds ice for maybe 1 nite... 😵💫

I have a half size Black and Decker fridge in my apartment. The compressor on my fridge too ran too much and the sides would get hot to the touch. In my case, the bottom quarter of the back is open exposing the compressor. I have a small floor fan blowing into that area. No more compressor running all of the time. No more hot sides. I suspect your initial problem was a air circulation/cooling issue. Time will tell.
maybe get some kind of remote thermometer - oven or BBQ & put probe in various place like behind unit on side etc etc . to read & record temps observed in case problem comes backp
Yeah I ordered that from southern pepper one on to help him channel these flashlights and we got flashlights but these make a little fire at the end some kind of phaser lighter. But out of the two only one works. And it does not show up on my Amazon order so I can't send back one or contact them. $25 might as well say goodbye. So yeah that's life!
Awesome Chrome glad you got it back together, hopefully they’ll get back with you let you know what the deal was maybe it was the compressor, appreciate your sharing catch on the next one peace and chicken grease 😁👍👍
I'm thinking it was a defect from the manufacturer, but overheating does also sound like a possibility. Only time will tell. Lets see how long this lasts. Love the video!
That is enough ventilation per ICECO spec. I think it is a factory problem. I had 4 ICECO and the compressor failed on all 4 of them. I am not happy with ICECO products. I never even put it in my car. I used them at my house as supplemental refrigeration.
@@drphibesrises that stinks I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve read a few comments on this thread that definitely makes me think about looking at other companies if I ever need a fridge like this! Best to you!

Yay! New fridge!! I’d say it was a chain of events that caused the problem with the other fridge. Maybe a mini power surge, maybe Mercury retrograde, maybe someone else in retrograde. Who knows? Enjoy the fridge!!🍻❤️
The one that was broke was a dud and probably got past a QC person at the factory, but still fantastic having it put in so very well. Hopefully, it should for a long while.
Mannnn Rayner is a genius. You did so well getting this guy . He really is amazing. I am thinking you had a fridge problem, Chrome. Something up with the compressor. Great video. 👌 Super. X
I went through several fridge freezers before I got That somewhat works. With the old ones I spent several weeks running at through test at ice CO ask me to do.. When they started going over the same thing twice I increased my resistance.. They will do everything they can to make it sound like a wiring problem, low voltage problem or an air circulation problem or anything but a cooler problem. I suspect you're going to have to keep sending them back until you get one that works properly.
I had a similar problem with my Dometic CFX3 75Dz,. Compressor failed. Dometic Japan stepped up and replaced it. My Dometic lives in my Jeep JKU 24/7, in hot humid Okinawa, Japan. I installed two big computer fans like you did to push and pull air through the compressor compartment. So far no problems. Knock on wood. The new has been in there for over a year now.

This weekend I plugged it into one of my dc outlets and it just kept running and running at just the set temp. I switched it back to direct to power supply and all set. My wiring must not be substantial enough for the draw.
When my dometic froze the fridge it was the thermocouple that went bad. I swapped it with a new one from Amazon and it's been working perfect ever since.
Just a thought: Would a kind of suspension system underneath the fridge like a layer of sturdy foam or something, would that work or help? I mean, would the fridge still be jolted around when fastened down tight? But I know it has to be secured so that it doesn't hop around. What you have done here is probably much more than what most do in their vans, though. I look forward to watching your and Emmi's videos and adventures.

The fault is the compressor regulation valve. It distribute to which compartment should cool.
Hopefully your fridge lasts a long time much love
hmm, i wonder if it was that piece that Raynor pivoted, that was rubbing up against wires was the cause of it going haywire
Of course it was a faulty fridge! Randomly switching the freezer and fridge compartments looks like an issue with the electronics.
