Love this video! I had to figure out how to do this a few months ago for my wedding dress. It is very scary at first because you are likely to make holes in the tulle.

So how did it turn out? The holes are not a big deal because you are most likely to cut that part off to shorten anyway. If not, you can cover it with the applique when you sew them back.

Thanks for this video, but did you gum the applique first before sewing? Or what?

Thank you Jiex for sharing your knowledge! Love your videos. What kind of sewing machine are you using? Also what was the stitch length you used when re-attaching the applique?

I'm using Juki TL-98 QE and love it. Very powerful! I have the stitching set between 3 & 4. I don't want it too close together so it's easier to rip if I need to.

Hi so if I were to hem a lace train would I do this technique too?

hi there, i was wondering when u line up the lace along a curve hemline, like a circular veil or circular train at the end of a dress, do u have any problems with the lace bunch up/gather/at the curve part? If yes, how do u make the lace lay flat? Do u snip off a small part of the lace that gather upwards and then readjust the lace to lay flat? I'm currently doing a project that scallop lace hem the edge of a curve, and the height of my lace is around 7", whenever i reach the curve part, a lot just gather up and i have to snip off a lot for the lace to lay flat, but that would ultimately modify the pattern of the scallop lace. I hope u understand what I'm saying and i could really use some help here. Thank you :)

On the places where the laced overlap on top of another lace motif, do you sew it on top or take some of it off? Thanks

I cut some of the extra but leave enough to overlap.
