Since Aardman recently celebrated its 50th anniversary this month, I thought it would be a good idea to do a logo history on the company!
The main references for this video were the CLG Wiki, and every capture shown in this video is from UA-cam.

Aardman Animations is a British animation studio based in Bristol, England. Founded on 12 April 1972, Aardman is known for films made using stop-motion clay animation techniques, particularly those featuring its Plasticine characters Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, and Morph. Aardman's top-grossing film Chicken Run (2000) is the highest-grossing stop-motion film of all time.
My next logo history will be on KingWorld.

What are your favorite logos from Aardman?
Maybe the Shaun the Sheep Variant from the 4th Logo because I remembered watched this film.
I would have to say the second or third logo, which was kind of a behind the scene look at how Aardman did their first logo, and the one with the printing machine.

My favourite logos from Aardman would have to be their 3rd and 4th logos, because they're very creative indeed!!!! It really does!! :D
The first one use to legitimatley terrify me as a kid. Something about that cello...
The clay face can also creep out some people
@@JontyMaster It didn't to me, just the sound
and the man. is he supposed to resemble a golliwog
The first Aardman opening scared me too! And so did the first logo for DreamWorks (the night one) - something about the eerieness of both of those just terrified me - I used to run off and hide until the opening titles were over!
Big Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run fan here!
Also, the one with rotors and the giant hand scared me too!
That third Aardman logo I have a lot of fond memories for. Chicken Run and Curse of the Were Rabbit had it.
Great Aardman logo history, Jonty! Now I gotta say that this company created my favorite movies and TV shows, like Shaun the Sheep, and Wallace and Gromit for example! I hope I can tune in to another logo history made by you!
And happy 50th anniversary to Aardman!
Edit: I changed from TR3X to Jonty, whoops! Sorry 'bout that.
Thanks for watching, and yes those are classic movies and TV shows!
Awesome logo history of Aardman Animations, Jonty! Happy 50th anniversary, Aardman Animations! Aardman is best known for its stop-motion animated shows, its most famous work being Wallace & Gromit. Wallace & Gromit is a classic, especially in the UK! However, the 1st logo was Fabian (TR3X)'s scariest logo when he was a young child. Nevertheless, some of my favourite logos from Aardman would be the 3rd logo and the cinematic version of the 4th logo. The 3rd logo does have creative animation in it. The cinematic version of the 4th logo is really creative and does have beautiful CGI. The new logo from 2022 depends of what you think of it, if it's a fresh change or bland and oversimplistic. At least they kept the star instead of throwing it in the logo trash just like Starz did.
Thanks, Man! I agree with most of your comments. The third logo is creative indeed, and the 4th logo has great CGI. The 2022 logo's not bad in my opinion, and I'm glad they kept the star instead of banishing it to the shadow realm like Starz. Stay tuned for my logo history on KingWorld!
What did you bring in the cursed world

Wow amazing. Aardman is my most favourite animation studio of all time. I know they are most famous for their projects, Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Morph and Chicken Run.
That third logo (2000-2009) is my favourite one as well.
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
5:06 ok, that was adorable
trust me when timmy's involved to something it's always adorable.
And 5:11
Happy 50th Aardman Animation without this company there wouldn't be Wallace and Grommet or Shaun the Sheep
Or chicken run.
Happy 50th Aniversary To The King Of Stop Motion Animation.
1:39 I remember at the end of Close Shave when the sheep are baa-ing while the logo appears, it sounds very cute 😊
You Spelt Sheep wrong.
@dariussaavedra8062 sorry about that
@@MrsLadyLady21 You kinda look like me
And I love Close Shave
The first one looks terrifying- maybe it’s because you can’t see the rest of the guy’s clay face but idk
For some crazy ass reason I always believed there was a version of the first logo where the face started talking. I may have dreamed that for all I know.
lip synch?

Brilliant logo history of Aardman, Jonty!!!! Can't believe that Aardman turns 50 years this year, congratulations to them!! I'd definitely remembered watching some of their shows for when I was a kid, especially Wallace and Gromit, Morph, Chicken Run and Shaun the Sheep, which that show is definitely the most rememberable to me!! But there's one thing that I remembered about this other show Morph, was that scary 1st logo at the end, the one with the face. It really scared the heck out of me as a kid (same with my brother Fabian), although I'm not scared of it that much now. And also, isn't there this one show from Aardman called Angry Kid, which that one is not for kids, because of all the jokes, and it's overall a very strange show. Although I've wondered if his face was based off that 1st logo, because it weirdly does. But yeah, other than that, if I did pick a favourite, then my most favourite logos from Aardman would have to be the 3rd and 4th logo, cause they're great!! But yeah like as always, awesome logo history Jonty and keep up with the awesome work!!!! :D :) ;)
Thanks, Dylan! Aardman really has come a long way from where they began, and I definitely remember watching Shaun the Sheep and the spin-off, Timmy Time! Timmy Time is probably the most memorable. I used to watch it loads back in the early 2010s. I've heard that you and your bro were scared of the clay-face logo. Man Ferro told me that. The show Angry Kid is AWESOME. It even made a brief return in 2015 and 2019. I agree with your favorites. They are great *indeed!* Stay tuned for my logo history on KingWorld!
@@JontyMaster You're welcome!! And also, I'm definitely looking forward to your upcoming logo history of KingsWorld indeed!!!! :D
@@JontyMaster And just last thing, what I do like about Angry Kid (the new series) was the part where he reads and replies to comments, which kinda reminds me of the old Go!Animate ask series, which is pretty interesting!! :)
@@omegafilmcorporation I remember that episode! "What were you thinking...THE ANUS JAM?"
@@JontyMaster Hahahahaaa... LOL!!!! XD
3:23 I searched specifically for this logo. I first saw this when I had the Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit DVD Game.
my entire british family grew up watching their films and everyone is waiting for the second chicken run
That first one used to terrify me as a kid..always had to shut my eyes after I put the VHS in and wait until the Wallace and Gromit music started
Yeah the low string music and the final very deep chords at the end with the clay face could give people the creeps.
Oh Did It Used to really Scary?
A Grand day out scary level 2/10 The Wrong Trousers scary level 64/10
One of my favorite stop motion companies growing up :D
Mine too! I remember watching Timmy Time when I was a child.
@@JontyMaster By the way, where was the piano music part of the Aardman logo from at 2:29?
...Nice to see I wasn't the only one unnerved by the 1st one as a kid! XD
I too, am afraid of the clay-face from the first logo.
it was weirdly unsettling to me as well ☠️
@@_abby_242 Seems we're on the same boat.
It was the music too with it. sounds like a portal to the underworld being opened lol
2:49, this brings me back my childhood memories that I used to watch this series. I still miss my favorite shows, including "Mower Mouth" one of my funny shows I've ever watched. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's so we amazing Jonty Master!
Never grew up with this myself but this is a perfectly valid thing to be scared of as a kid, this is unsettling even as an adult
The first one used to kinda scare me as a kid, but it will always be THE Aardman logo for me. It’s just way too iconic not to be.
It was taken from Wallace and gromit: vengeance most fowl closing logo when ending scene, there’s logo appeared 0:16
proof?
i saw the entire movie and no they didn't show the old logo.
I really love this Credit Music before the next video.

That Aardman episode of Star Wars Visions should’ve been directed by Nick Park! I mean HELLO THERE!!! Same company as Wallace & Gromit!
Aw darn...
I thought it was My Request: Gunther-Wahl Productions Logo History (1990-2001)...
But Gunther-Wahl Productions was the best known for The Angry Beavers.
Am I right?
I gotta be honest that last logo is clean
2:14 where was that from
Chicken Run the game
Wow.
The CLG Wiki is now AVID.
Cool history. Though.....the clay-face from the first logo always freaks me out.
It won’t hurt you
It might be Aardman himself
@@thategg9447 I still don't like the clay-face though. Do not try to make me change my opinions. No offense, but while I like Aardman, I am afraid of the clay-face and Aardman is just the title of the animation studio and a short film featuring the super-hero, not the clay-face. So don't convince me we're on the same boat when we're not.
@@Club-Dreamiverse alright. I won't.

Loved aardman as a kid still do as an adult
What music is heard in 0:00?
Honestly the new logo looks so cheap, it’s like a UA-cam Channel logo
fax it's so minimalistic and uninspired
It even uses an open licence font known as Rubik.
THE THIRD LOGO IS THE JAMES A WILLIAMS INTRO!
0:21 Who’s face is that?
I have no idea but I don't wanna find out what if he had no eyes that would be disturbing
I Love the first Logo, but the third one is very Funky, but in a good way

The first one is my childhood
The first one always reminded me of the opening for "Pee-wee's Playhouse".
Shaun the sheep the movie rated G you can experience an IMAX now playing
