One of my first times firing heavies with my unit, we found a box made out of 4×4s. We set it out about 200 meters and we were lobbing 40 mm training granades into it. Then we fired M249 SAW rounds (5.56) at it. It chewed up pretty good but the box was still pretty much intact. Then we brought up the M60s. Fires a 7.62 round
(.308). Needless to say, the box didn't survive. In fact it was just small splinters and sawdust. Lol
