    its such a coincidence that I tried the detergent and posted about this on the Uniformation Facebook site the exact same day you were doing a review lol!! WOW!! I was so excited after I tested it out as I have been looking for a good IPA replacement FOREVER!! Thanks for the video and great in depth review!! cheers!!

    Great video! I am currently using the Elegoo 8K Grey Standard Resin and absolutely love it. I tried the Sunlu water washable but found the details weren't as good.

    Just ordered a Mars 5 Ultra and Mercury X bundle. Kinda wishing I had known about the detergent I would've gone ahead and grabbed a jug with my order.

    I've used the detergent and IPA. I still prefer IPA because I can recover about 75% of it for reuse as crystal clear 99% IPA. The detergent is nice, less smells and less toxic, but you're still stuck with a jug of stuff to try and find a home for when it's no longer clean.

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah I'll get that completely a lot of people don't bother reusing their IPA and just get rid so I guess they would find this much more beneficial again using it in ultrasonic cleaners is a lot safer than IPA as well

    • @fluxcapacitor
      @fluxcapacitor Місяць тому

      Why don't you filter the resin out of the detergent to recycle it like IPA? Elegoo's detergent (unlike Sunlu's detergent, or ResinAway) allows liquid resin diluted in it to cure as a spongy blob when exposed to UV light, exactly like IPA. As for me, I plan to use the Elegoo detergent instead of IPA and recycle it that way in the Wilson machine. Moreover, as the detergent is not flammable, I can use it in an ultrasonic cleaner. The best of both worlds!

    The thing that really stunned me about this video is how fast he tuned in each resin. Am I the only one who has to do about 12 tests before I even get close???

    I've used the water washable and I agree it is more brittle on thinner parts but I like the easy of cleaning it in water, way cheaper then ipa lol

    That detergent looks interesting, it'll be interesting to see your opinion and video of it when its turned into a saturated, heavily saturated, and "90% resin/ 10% detergent" soup to see how easy/ difficult it is to recover and reuse the detergent.

    Having used few kilos of the elegoo water washable 8k I'm done with it. It's way too brittle for me, miniatures are a no-go when just by toppling over a 7cm model shatters in places... Switching to ABS-Like 3.0 and whilst waiting for order to arrive came across this video, looks like I made a good choice including the detergent in the order! Was worried it'd smell to high heaven which is why I tried to go with WW in the first place but seeing this it puts my fears to rest

    A great video with great content and I will try the ABS like Resin. One point I'm afraid I have to disagree with is that on Amazon IPA is £18.45 for 5L, But I can't find the Detergent under £32. So that is a bit misleading to say they cost the same(at 13:50). I'm just nitpicking as it is a good vid, but facts are important.

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 місяці тому +1

      Now that's a fair comment I have since found it a little cheaper the alcohol that is. But you can pay that much for 5 L of alcohol depending on where you shop point noted and I do agree with you thank you for the comment

    I'm not certain if I just got a bad batch or what, but my experience with the elegoo abs like 3.0 has been a negative one. Using a mono x 2, I've had to double print times in order to have a successful print.

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  23 дні тому +1

      Sorry to hear that I must say my mono x was an absolute nightmare it's definitely not your printer is it

    • @voiceofreason1629
      @voiceofreason1629 22 дні тому +1

      @greedy3d480 I didn't have any issues with elegoo's original abs like. I have also tried abs like 3.0 on my mono x and mono x 2 (the latter being a brand new printer), and I'm having constant adhesion problems and layer separation issues. So, I don't believe it's the printer. I've read reviews on Amazon that have claimed similar issues, so I'm not sure if they had a bad batch, or if this is a more chronic issue.

    You said Non Flammable - But I notice on the bottle is has the Flammable symbol and when I look on Amazon I can also see that symbol. Is it safe for Ultrasonic cleaners? Couldn't find any info on that.

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 місяці тому

      I've asked elegoo.. non-flammable and can safely be used in an ultrasonic cleaner I'm told

    • @greedy3d480
      @greedy3d480  2 місяці тому

      This is also off their website Non-Flammable: Safety is our top priority. Our resin cleaner is non-flammable and non-explosive, providing peace of mind while working with the solution. It has a high flash point of 82 degrees and a 20% longer service life than alcohol, making it safer than IPA and easy to transport and store.

    Is it normal that resin detergent just remove all kind of paint from all of my tools? Like my ultrasonic cleaner, and some of hand tools. How should i use it if it is so aggressive? Should i remove and then change my gloves every time when i conctact with detergent? That means i should use 10-15 pair of gloves after every print...

    Not more expensive than IPA? You can get 10 liters 99% IPA for ~$20, that's a hell of a price difference. Unfortunately, that's the only thing that speaks for IPA, though.

    I bought 10L of this stuff it cleans well, BUT it causes my rubber gloves to fall apart after a few minutes. I accidentally dripped this stuff on my enclosure and it started eating through the plastic.
    The HUGE negative is that it makes your prints soft and sticky and it takes twice as long to cure. It also takes forever and ever to dry when you are in the business selling 3D prints the. This stuff is not for you as it makes drying and curing much longer. I’ve even had customers complain that their prints didn’t feel cured enough after a 10 minute cure. With IPA prints cure in 2-3 minutes.
    Elegoo gave me my money back after letting them know my experience with the detergent.
    I’m now back with IPA as it dries and cures much faster and the prints don't feel sticky after washing them. I can also distill my IPA to clean it but I can’t do that with the detergent.
    Hard pass for me.
