1) Great video, as always! 2) Wow...would've never thought that the seats and the belt systems weigh >30lbs 3) Interesting that the rear seat delete kit weighs 12lbs by itself. I'm sure there is a lighter comparable solution by measuring the space and cutting out some light(er) fabricated board stock (I'm thinking about the stuff that is 1/8") or thin plastic from your local home improvement store. To make it look nice(r) you could cover it with felt (they have it in rolls at the same hardware stores) and then probably anchor it with clips and/or silicone to avoid drilling holes. My guess is the whole thing would weigh
Your vids have been very helpful. I’ve used them to select my wheel/tire package( MRR 228’s, 315/35/20 tires using ZL1 Addons 5 mm spacer ... My drivers door lock failed, so I used your vid on removing drivers side door panel to replace the actuator. These are just a few things ... Too many to list. You’ve been more than helpful. Thanks
i think he needs a 1le so he has a daily driver again. The burbin will haul the trailer and if you ever need a truck bed home depot charges $19.95 to rent one of theres.
I don’t think this would be the same for a convertible models but I can verify this weekend. I’m planning on detailing the seats so if it is this will be great. Alright so it is a bit different the seat comes off the exact same way and needs to come off first. Then there are two 10mm nuts that need to be removed on the bottom of the back rest and on the top there are two metal retaining clips that need to be pressed down from the top and off it goes.
Good day Matt. Great info. And thanks to you for the truth on the weight loss. There are air bag delete plugs that will make the system think your old bag is still in the passenger seat. Sorry off topic. The system will think the factory air bag is still there . No dash light👍 I use to install them when upfitting Mobility vehicle's. Fyi.
I got a 2017 camaro convertible but my seatbelt jammed so hard Thts it’s ripping the interior apart and I don’t even know how to look up that part or if I would need a whole new inside panel🤷♂️
I get the weight saving part but then why add the extra 12 lbs of cardboard and carpet to make it look somewhat pleasing after you take the seats out. Why not just take it out before you race and save all the weight.
LethalGarage well I would think you would want to take out the front passenger seat as well. So who cares what it looks like going down the track, it’s the time slip you want.
savage 069 no disrespect either but everything you can get rid no matter how small all adds up if your trying to shave .01 off to get to 8.99 from 9.00 to make that 8 second car. Just my opinion.
Can anyone please tell me what the upper rear seat holders are called. I know there’s a hook at the top center but what’s it called for the compartment that holds the springs on the sides of the rear seat called???
Hey Matt, I need your help on a big debate my bro and I are having. I have the same car as you just in a 18 redline m6. The Bose stereo in these cars is amazing. When you pulled all your interior pannels out for this roll cage.... did you find a factory subwoofer anywhere? Either they have a subwoofer or I have mine tuned to sound like it has one. Anyway, any help on this from you would be awesome. Forum's are saying it comes from the door speakers but he's not believing it and honestly i do a little bit but not 100% convinced. Anyway if you could help me out with this question, it would be awesome.
question . I own a 5th gen 2SS . I was told it has a electric steering rack when I turn the wheel and move at very slow speed 3 to 4 miles it makes a rubbing sound , what could that be ?
I deleted my backseat and took everything out of the trunk (tow bar, styrofoam basket, cloth trunk liner) and now im getting this squeaking sound that almost sounds like the styrofoam squeak but I can't find where it's coming from. Definitely from inside the car behind the front seats or in the trunk. Any ideas?
@@Lethalgarage Figured out what it was, it was the plastic squeaking against the metal on those electrical units in the trunk. Just had to tighten the bolts holding them in place took less than 5 minutes with a socket wrench.
@@Lethalgarage haha, I see. It was hard for me to switch to a camaro. I was the opposite. However, knowing the same designer for the corvette designed the camaro and seeing the resemblance made it easier.

Gary Vaughan May god bless you and the navy sir ❤️
Danny Yousif Thank you . God Bless you and yours as well!
Taking off my floor mats and just the back part of my seat lowered my 1/4 mile time by .2
Good stuff Lethal I’m pulling mine this week, every pound counts and if the seats are out I’ll be able to fit my drag tires in the car. 👍
Virus world it was easy
Watching you take apart this, what used to be your daily driver and drive with lethal video, hurts my heart lol. Great video lethal!
Drive with Lethal Camaro be amazing pretty soon

Good demonstration of the delete seats

Have a link?
Not just weight savings, also more exhaust sound enters the cabin which is cool, sadly also a tad more wind and road noise
Racecar problems
Thanks Matt for all your videos and hard work!
Great info Matt. Thanks for the details.
5th gen rear seat is around 45lbs and fairly simple to remove.
Appreciate the info
Great video Matt definitely detailed 👍🏻💯
Great stuff! I'll save a few bucks following your video prior to having a cage installed. Keep up the good work!
Thanks

Awesome job as usual
Thanks
because racecar
Love your videos. How much more weight will you drop from the car this year?
Not much, we plan to simply run the car and get her dialed in
Good vid note on 5th gen camaro the bottom seat removal is different
Yup, this is a 6th Gen video
Can anyone please tell me what the upper rear seat holders are called. I know there’s a hook at the top center but what’s it called for the compartment that holds the springs on the sides of the rear seat called???
What front seat are you going with. I'm actually looking for one myself. Thanks.

Lethal awesome content man as always brother. What are your plans for your back seats?
I will probably sell them
@@Lethalgarage if you do want to sell them will you let me know what you have in mind? Do you have the front seats too?
No rear seat delete for 5th gens?
You can delete seats for a 5th Gen

My seat not coming up lol, i can lift it up from the left side but i can't do it from the right side
Have to pull harder
Is their anything you can remove from the car thats not that noticeable?
Exhaust?
Have you found out how not to get those error codes?
Haven’t tried yet
how much for the interior
Are you by any chance looking to sell that back seat?
At some point
Did you know that by buying a corvette you can avoid removing your rear seats?! :)
Did you know I don’t like most corvettes? :)
@@Lethalgarage haha, I see. It was hard for me to switch to a camaro. I was the opposite. However, knowing the same designer for the corvette designed the camaro and seeing the resemblance made it easier.
What's the weight of front seats
I had the ZL1 seats. 76lbs per seat
“Delete,” more like removal.
Oh it’s deleted. Put the seats in the fire!
Way to much effort for a 20 pound reduction in weight!
Lol, it’s pretty easy to do, don’t be lazy ;)
Dont ruin your car bro! Put the rear seat back.
My backpack holder shall be removed forever
