my all time favorite ride! i remember being 6 years old and loving the idea i can drive a car! now im 19 and actually have a car but i still come back to this and have NOSTALGIA!
I enjoyed this ride! This was the first time that I drove a car. Even though I always get rammed by the track, I still felt proud that I drove that hahahaha
Autopia is the only Tomorrowland attraction left from opening day. I think if they can make clean energy except for the fuel they use now, it could fit the future theme better
Oh my god the first time I drove on this ride, I was 11. My friend and I (and her mom) went here, and I got alone in my car while they rode in their own. I drove so horribly and the track kept on having to move me. But atleast I didn't get yelled at or rammed by anyone. My friend had a bad time on this ride cause her mom kept on telling her how to drive it and what to do.. Heh.
I ride this with my 10-year-old (and let him drive) because because this ride, to me, is the same as Small World and sometimes Pirates...time to close the eyes and relax.
This looks different than it was in 2006 when I took this ride. It's definitely changed. Those cars look new, they were older (like the yellow ones) and louder, sounded like Vw Bugs from the 60s, also those green gates weren't around. And I took it at night. And when I got back I ran over the guys feet that was telling me where to stop. LOL I remember everybody waiting was watching and laughing at me, and the exit was on the opposite end of the platform, like 100 yards walk.
I never understood this ride in our modern age, does this look futuristic? yay we get to drive, sort of, y'know that mundane task we did to get to disneyland. seems like the land could be put to better use.
Tomorrowland land was envisioned to be the year 1986 or something. The point of this ride was to show kids in the future, they will drive. Get with it dude.
I'm aware of that, I said I don't get it's context NOW. Cars are everywhere, lets update the ride. Have electric cars, have a futuristic highway. Walt was looking forward, not sure he would like the idea of disneylands tommorowland being stuck in the past.
so your case is that it's a visual metaphor for kids being the future and that means we should leave it as a petrol driven vision of 1986? why not have it be the same things but with cool future cars. that's all I'm saying, kids can still enjoy it and it's more interesting for adults too - which is why disneyland was created.
I am not saying we should leave the traditional tomorrow and feel. I am just saying that they aren't going to change it any time soon. It was futuristic at the time. It was telling the kids that they will drive. I wasn't really just saying that it has nothing to do with the 1986 feel. I am just saying its not full blast Tomorrowland.
YesYou 123333 “Newer Rides” Disney World has MOSTLY all the rides Disneyland has. Like Astro Orbiter. It came here to Disney World. It’s not new. Splash Mountain came from Disneyland. The stories are just the same. “Brear Fox And Brear Bear try to kidnapp the rabbit then later they fall into a brier patch” See both are the same.TTZTOT (from DW) (Correct me if I’m wrong) came to Disneyland. So what do you been by newer ridES. 97% of all the rides at DW came from DL. Plus how about the shows? Wishes came out before Remember. And It was AWESOME! And much better than Remember. Plus The Main Street Electrical Parade came to Disneyland in 2009 for summertime. And aswell Remember took some music from Wishes. And the atmosphere? Just because Disneyland is the original, doesn’t mean the atpmosphere isn’t the same. You’re only saying that because DW Is bigger. Both resorts offer its best. So In a way they’re all in the same.
I thought the ride was fast and so me and my brother got in a car together and just for laughs had him put on running in the 90s and soon as I hit the gas autopia disapointment
This ride used to be fun, great theming, things to look at like a car park and advertisements, a fun queue with funny little cartoons to watch, and fun for kids. Now it's a soulless, boring, unimaginative and forgettable ride, honestly I feel like it should be removed at this point, the new sponsorship killed the ride. It takes up too much space too
It's funny how this seemed fun as a little kid but how painfully pathetic it is an adult... I don't know how parents endure this crap and act like they enjoy it.
Speaking as a parent, it's always great to find a ride where you can share in your kid's enjoyment, rather than kiddie rides where you just park the kid on the ride and go sit somewhere for a couple of minutes. Even if the ride isn't anything you'd find interesting on your own, you can vicariously experience it through a child's eyes by riding along. What did frustrate me about these sorts of rides (we've never been to Disneyland, but they're all over the place) is that my kid loved them, but for several years she refused to *drive*; she'd always make me drive the little car, and just driving a car is not something I come to an amusement park and stand in line to do. She was always too apprehensive about driving the car. But she's come around--now she drives and I get to just ride along. Tomorrowland Speedway at Magic Kingdom seemed to be the breakthrough--there's not much that's special about Tomorrowland Speedway, really, other than being relatively large, but just being at Disney World made her decide it was time to drive.
What about "joy riding" and just simply enjoying the scenery? In real life people seem to be always in a hurry to get somewhere while on the roads, but here you can just sit back and enjoy the view. Whether you enjoy it or not is just your opinion and so is mine.
my all time favorite ride! i remember being 6 years old and loving the idea i can drive a car!
now im 19 and actually have a car but i still come back to this and have NOSTALGIA!
I loved this ride when I was younger. I have photos of it somewhere at home where I live with a parent or a guardian.
I enjoyed this ride! This was the first time that I drove a car. Even though I always get rammed by the track, I still felt proud that I drove that hahahaha
This was one of the first rides I went on, and I still love it.
Tailgating like a true Californian!
joeylantis22 lol
The "off road" portion is cool. I never knew it was there
Autopia is the only Tomorrowland attraction left from opening day. I think if they can make clean energy except for the fuel they use now, it could fit the future theme better
Moderately. The track in the center adjusts the vehicles steering when you go off course.
I’m a true Disneyland fanatic but I’ve never seen that ride before
i simply want to be loved I guess yeah because it’s hidden in the trees very well.
This used to be my favorite ride when I was 4 years old lol back in 2015
One time me and my 2 friends grabbed a mini speaker and played Hadaway “what is love” while we ride. It was a great time on this ride
This looks so much better then the tomorrow land one at the Magic Kingdom.
Oh my god the first time I drove on this ride, I was 11. My friend and I (and her mom) went here, and I got alone in my car while they rode in their own. I drove so horribly and the track kept on having to move me. But atleast I didn't get yelled at or rammed by anyone. Some entitled mom rammed me so hard my neck hurt, ITS NOT MY FAULT I DRIVE HORRIBLY LADY.
I just sent on it a few weeks ago I loved it
I hate it when someone crashes into you. It hurts so bad.
There's a link in the description to my video from Tomorrowland Speedway at Magic Kingdom.
I ride this with my 10-year-old (and let him drive) because because this ride, to me, is the same as Small World and sometimes Pirates...time to close the eyes and relax.

This ride is fun 😁
I have very steady robot-ninja hands.
Far better than the junky Tomorrowland Speedway at Magic Kingdom. I love this ride!
The smell of the gas actually reminds me of this ride when I smell it outside of Disneyland. :)
this ride has electric cars though? No gas?
Oh no, they are definitely gas powered. I was amazed that it was all gas powered still in 2018.
is this also at disneyworld?
I hear the people mover music at the very beginning of the video. memories
I seriously did not know that this ride existed in Disneyland.
i managed to stall the damn thing and got the whole ride stuck the guy in front of me slammed on the brakes for no damn reason
How did you manage to stall an electric cart? It can't stall; it has a battery and motor, not an engine. Furthermore it has no brake pedal?
Will Davis are you deaf? there’s a petrol motor in each car.
the fun thing about this ride is that you can rear end other people after the drive.
i sucked at driving on this ride but still so much fun 😂
I'm sorry to hear that even though it's important to keep your foot on the gas pedal.
Great footage that do not bump sticker was so close I could read it.
Dude, look at that view of the Finding Nemo ride!
how did you get it so smooth i video taped and it was all jerkey
2:00 The car in front was probably thinking,"GET THIS GUY OFF MY ASS!"
I have a freaking go-kart boys
Oh and how many people per car
do you have to steer?
Lol me and my mom went when I was little and she taught me how to drive, I will never forget
I went on this 10 years ago.
*enjoys the ride in autopia intell traffic comes* MOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never understood this ride in our modern age, does this look futuristic? yay we get to drive, sort of, y'know that mundane task we did to get to disneyland. seems like the land could be put to better use.

What a terrible driver in front of you. I had road rage just watching
Why is terrible???
Do u drive or just ride?
Lauryn and Bella Rhett Drive
ty
I remember me and my cousin were on that but my cousin was the one that was on the wheel and I just took the brake and the speed 🤣
Autotopia, presented by Chevron, Chevron with Techron: Care for your car.
like a boss
FACT best ride at Disneyland
canadiancatgreen That’s a opinion. Everyone has there own opinion.
What I remember about this ride is you had to practically stand on the gas pedal to push it down. Also the steering was terrible.
Magic Kingdom seems to be a poorman's version of Disneyland
It's really the other way around. . .
Sharp Productions, it's really not
Disneyland is the ORIGINAL. Nothing beats the original. The Magic Kingdom is bigger has newer rides but the atmosphere just isn't the same.
Adam Ferry I can’t say my opinion because I’ve never been to Disneyland before. But WDW IS clearly the advanced version of this.
YesYou 123333 “Newer Rides” Disney World has MOSTLY all the rides Disneyland has. Like Astro Orbiter. It came here to Disney World. It’s not new. Splash Mountain came from Disneyland. so...people drive for hours and pay $100 to enter a park and drive a car. ok.
More so the kids can 'drive' them.
@@sharpproductions ah yes. of course. I don't have kids so it didn't occur to me.
I swear their used to be a car wash
i suck at it too, but on purpose. i just press the gas and let the rails do the driving.
Should be replaced with something better. I can't believe people queue for this thing.
I can't believe you don't like it. How unauthentic of you!
Well ur luck would be a myth becuase autopia is getting w big refurb
New color cars
New exterior colors and might have a new sponsor
Adrian Thorneycroft you actually steer the car though
Adrian Thorneycroft This a Classic. If you think they should get rid of it, you’re a idiot.
Why do you drive so fast?! Don't you see that the person before you would drive relax?! Take it easy.
I thought the ride was fast and so me and my brother got in a car together and just for laughs had him put on running in the 90s and soon as I hit the gas autopia disapointment
you can buy one of that small car for $800.
Need for speed iii
The Driver In Front Of Him,Hes Driving Like She/Him Is Drunk!
I once de railed it. You can imagine what happened next.
+Big Banana lol i wanna know
Eezy Bayk Ovin what?
Ejected the seat???
.
Hey we just spent hours in a car driving to Disney Land. Let's get in a fake car and fake drive some more.
What is fake??
Teaching children how to be dependent on foreign oil. lol.
When I went on this, some Asain lady was in front of us and my little brother said " They can't drive here too!"xD
This ride used to be fun, great theming, things to look at like a car park and advertisements, a fun queue with funny little cartoons to watch, and fun for kids.

Why worth this is boring is??

Matilda Babble 😂😂 best comment ever

Matt McIrvin What the heck? “Tomorrowland speedway is the break through.” ITS THE EXACT SAME RIDE.
when i rode this ride going through the tracks felt like shit, so did the steering, so I wouldn't recommend riding this ride.
Looks like the most BORING ride at Disneyland
Brandon Montreuil it's actually fun because you steer the car
Steering a car at 5 mph is fun? No thanks; i'll stick to real rides.
Will Davis I bet you’re one of those annoying thrill seekers. Who always judge things like: “That looks so slow”
What about "joy riding" and just simply enjoying the scenery? In real life people seem to be always in a hurry to get somewhere while on the roads, but here you can just sit back and enjoy the view. Whether you enjoy it or not is just your opinion and so is mine.
Why boring??
