- Today my daughter and I decided we are going to build a Bushcraft site on the property. To do so we will need to make a few tools to help us along the way. First on the list is a mallet. I got a settlers wrench recently and figured I'd share it with ya to kick off our project in the woods. This is a great tool for making things and I look forward to sharing more that can be done with this. I figured a mallet was a great project to start this off with my BBG. She is looking forward to building our bushcraft site. As always thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell.
Proud Papa moment. Good job Dad. We all need to keep teaching our kids the ways of the land. Enough of the iPads and into the woods!
It great she wants to learn and you are there to teach her. If you split your peg in and carve you a wedge to go in it, when you drive it in to log it will drive wedge in and expand peg end for a tight fit
I love it! I’m gonna start teaching my babies how to start fires. Hopefully by summer they’ll be ready to build a camp! :) ❤
Awesome that you are showing your daughter the art of bushcraft
It'd be a better lesson (and safer for himself) if he'd practice some better knife discipline
Texan By Brith Rebel By Choice Hello there fellow native Texan!!! I'm a native Houstonian but have probably been just about all over this great state we call home!!! And you may want to spell birth with ir rather than ri sweetheart!!! And it most certainly is a good idea to show them early in life weather boy 👦 or girl 👧 !!!
I saw your tik tok of this and ended up googling the tool and deciding I "need" one. Glad I came across the youtube video.
It's so good you're teaching her the very basics.
SLICK! I like that tool, you could make all kinds of stuff using it.
You're a good man teaching you girl how to be self reliant. Love your desire to teach her the ways of the woods. That knife is really sharp. It was cutting that hard oak with no problem. The quickest why to ruin a fun time is to cut yourself. Ask me how I know? I have a 3 inch scare to prove it. Got me seven stitches too. Work on the knife skills a little more. Mors Kochanzski and Dave Canterberry both have great videos and books on safe knife technics. Plus you can learn with her and get some more good time together. Keep doing what you're doing. You have a great desire to teach and learn that shows in the videos.
Dad to the rescue hahaha. I hope I get to do something like this with my future kids one day.
I love mine. Have plans to build some chairs for our cabin in New Mexico. Good job young lady. Keep it up
Awsome dad right here
Hi y'all your daughter is going to show you up
You're a good father.
It love to see a proper camp built . also like to see a kids view of what a camp can be
Very good video! btw hammers do this weird thing where you hold it like you were, but off of the ground and hit the bottom, the mallet head will set nicely. The ground doesnt absorb all that force
I ordered one as soon as I saw the end of your video baby cakes!!!!
😂
@@princesse523 Well hello 👋 there beautiful sweet French 👧 girl!!! And I'm glad I could conjure up a chuckle for you sweetheart!!!!
@@kimnielsenthewordyvikingett159 just like me 😇😇😇
@@princesse523 Absolument mon amour 😍 !!!
@@kimnielsenthewordyvikingett159 you are so sweet. I was busy today but I don't have forgotten the translation. I do it tomorrow promised
Love seeing Shawns stuff pop up on my feed. Great Video.
Should have left it on the peg till the hole was drilled sweetheart. It would have been a well fitted handle sugar!!! I'm pretty sure Baby girl would have held the mallet head steady for you.
Great video! You're doing great helping the next generation. I'm looking forward to seeing the camp you build.
Love seeing your new vidjas! Keep em coming brother! 👍🏕
Cool! I like this series of videos already
Its nice to see kids taking an interest in this stuff. Its depressing driving around these days watching kids walking into trees because they are too busy staring at their phones.
That’s why I hate my generation along with furries and many other things
Got mine today and Shawn is such a real great guy! Good people! Just can wait till the fire season is over and we get aome cold weath. California make it hard:(
Awesome vid keep them coming!!!!
That’s a fine vidja right there!!
Hey there CURRIN1776 Amazon recently is now offering a 1&1/2"version!!! So this Texas girl is going to get not only that but a 5/8"version as well to pin the inch and a half tenon so it can't back 🔙 out!!! I hope you don't mind I've sent your video all over the Nordic regions and most of Eastern Europe!!!
You should put it in the battle box as a tool when they buy it
Great vid
Just bang the mallet handle up against the tree babe!!!!! The inertia of the head will force the handle on!!!!
What is the wood you are using?! Awesome video! Love that you are teaching your daughter!! The love of her father is just as it is intended.
Just got my wrench!
Hey brother, not sure if you remember me, caught 3 20 ish pound salmon, not sure in your crazy American kg lol. Got a good buzz on, want to thank you for the content you produce, good old fashioned no bull shit love from the south. I appreciate you and what you do, hope to talk soon!
2.2 pounds to 1 kg cheers
My wrench always keeps stick in the wood. Having hard time to get it loose again.
Love the vidja! You using the other piece of wood and turning it into an anvil?
Neat
Hi ! What is the size of the auger bit; 1 or 1.5 inch? As for the sheath, what is the maximum belt size you can use ? Thanks!

Hmmmmmmm
CURRIN1776 😍
Great tool! Great video! I’ll be sharing this vidja with my Facebook Fam. If you don’t mind! Friend me and I’ll tag Ya!
Do you think it's very smart to leave the knife on the floor when the child is kneeling there and working - 11:40 ? I'm not quite sure you're up to the responsibility.
Did you notice you have a knife growing out of your beard? Might want to get that checked out man
Hmmmm did not notice that. Thank you for letting me know.
You should teach her to never cut towards herself. Not at first at least.
She already knows....
I don't know if you know this or not, but I've been seeing you guys on social media a lot lately. A lot of those Chinese companies who have ripped off that design are using your images and short clips of this video to advertise this product period from the design I see on your settlers wrench it looks like you bought it from Sean in the wild probably for about 80 bucks. These Chinese companies have stolen the design and are selling them for $39 each and they're using his videos and your videos to advertise with. I don't know if you have grounds for a lawsuit or compensation I'm not really sure about how UA-cam works I just know I would be pretty pissed off if someone was using pictures of my daughter as an advertisement ploy on social media. You can recognize her shirt and your hands big as life. You guys should get something out of the deal.
Love the video but the cringe use of ur knife cutting towards ur hand an self the way u do kills me
