Thank you! The skill and creativity Joe shows in his paintings shines through in his work as Utrecht Brand Manager, guiding the creation of wonderful artist's colors!
Wow, I really enjoyed that. Very instructional. I’ll be working in a very similar setting and environment on a very similar composition this weekend and I love all of the technique and tips.
He's using a 'wet palette'; its a sponge under his wax paper palette. The water from the sponge soaks into the paper palette and keeps the acrylic paints moist. Notice that he said to put the used brushes into water, because if they dry the brush is ruined.
Keeping a spray bottle with water and a little denatured alcohol to mist over the palette helps a lot. The Masterson Sta-Wet Palette with the sponge insert is like magic, though, providing a humid environment and wicking water into the paint.
The color scheme defeats the purpose of "plein air" demonstration...(colors used are not on nature ...if he's giving a demo on "plein air" needs to be within the realm of nature....the colors used here can be explained in a studio painting taken from a plein air study...
No need for me to be afraid of acrylics after watching your awesome demo today. Love the style and those colors. Can't wait to get started!!!
Fabulous demonstration! Love the colors! Very expressive. 👏

Lovely :) How did you decide to start with orange?
I enjoyed watching your plein air steps. Very helpful. Thank you
Feel so inspired after watching your video. Many thanks
so bright and beautiful ! Thank you! NM
I always have trouble with acrylics drying way too fast. How did you avoid the paints drying quickly on the palette?

This is fabulous Do you have other demos?
How do you prevent the paint drying on the palette while working with acrylic on plein air?

@@Blick_Art thank you so much!
@@Blick_Art thank you so much!
what type of plein air easel is this that you're using?
lovely demo!!
Beautiful work🎨
So beautiful 😍
Do the utrect acrylic dry darker how do you compensate for that
Interesting. I am experimenting with oils in my beginner Plein air videos. I will try acrylic at some point thanks
Love your painting !... but how do stop your paints drying on your palette ? Do you use special types of acrylics e.g. interactive or what? Thanks 🙏
I'm not sure what he uses, but look into sta-wet palletes! They're basically parchment paper over a sponge that keeps the paint wet
I ha
I LOVE YOUR BEST DRAWING
How long does it take for this painting?
Love this style getting away from original colours..very Brian Cook
great
The foreground building wasn't complete. Needs to be darker. :D Other than that, nice job!

I agree that his use of colors is a bit garish. Perhaps that's the way he sees things, but I would use more neutrals…
He's not trying to replicate nature. It's simply a beautiful inspiration.
