The things I could tell you about the Case 580 CK, My uncle had one there are grease fittings all over that thing and the connecting bolt for the main forks is susceptible to breaking when there is too much wear in the bushings
I had found a ton of grease fittings on this machine and used to grease them until I figured out that it didn't matter because most of the bushings were worn out to the point that the grease didn't stay in there for very long. lol It's a good machine, I just replace stuff as I need to. :)
Thanks for coming to our channel. I will post some videos about the backhoe this spring because I need to rebuild some of the cylinders to get them to stop leaking but all in all the thing runs without a problem. If yours is like mine its really easy to work on if something does go wrong with it. :)
I have a 1968 Case CK backhoe and loader. Bought it to clear a riverfront lot the wife and I bought, and its a beast... very impressed. At 8 minutes into your video you describe the breathers and where to pour the hydraulic fluid in. Just so I'm clear, please... you only need to top up fluid using the Right side breather correct? Thank you, and thanks for the great video, well done, Mike in Peterborough Ontario Canada
I have only filled the hydraulic fluid from the right side, I haven't looked at a schematic of the tractor for this but it looks like it flows through the frame from one side to the other. :)
I do have the manual online the original case 1968 manual I could email it to you however I am out at the build site right now and yes the schematics do show that both arms are fed from the right side and apparently you're supposed to open the square screw about two feet down and over to the left that says hydraulic something or other so you open that up and pour from the top and when fluid comes through that opening on the left lower side apparently that's how you tell how much fluid goes in I hope so because I just finished doing that
The guy only charged me $10 dollars to braze it with no guarantee that it would hold. But he didn't have the parts to make a new line so it was worth the shot. :)
I was told that I could use either hydraulic oil or power steering fluid on my tractors power steering system. But I think i have been using hydraulic fluid. :)
flare nut wrenches are good to have when working with the hard hydrolic lines. if that adjustable wrench slips off you might need to braze the line again

Hello sir. I am a homesteader and just traded for the same backhoe. I do like your videos and will continue to watch and wait for more on the 580 ck.

Isn't there a place to ad fluids on the other side of the backhoe? Tks rick
This backhoe holds the hydraulic fluid in the frame. There are 2 holes that you can fill from, both on top up by the gas tank fill. :)

Theres a lower plug you are supposed to use
Interesting fix for a hydraulic line, but if it works, go for it.

What do you use hydraulic oil or power steering oil on power steering pump?
I was told that I could use either hydraulic oil or power steering fluid on my tractors power steering system. But I think i have been using hydraulic fluid. :)
Does have a measure oil stick for this model.?
No this model holds the hydraulic fluid in the frame of the tractor. :)
