Luckily we still have hope with films like 12th fail, three of us, valvi, Sam bahadur, Merry christmas, Lapata ladies, Madgaon express, Srikanth etc. making their big way in theatres and audience appreciating such cinema.

@@jaschowdhari3463 since when does not having thet budget of a big commercial film entail a film being independent. It's in the name literally. ,a film that is funded by either a private entity and or a small production house. All of them had big production houses spending crores in marketing and most of them had backing of a studio and cinema owners were readily happy to give them a space in theatres BECAUSE they had big time actors working in them. Aside from Three of Us , each one of them even had a good theatrical run . And every one of them had some connection to a well connected person in the industry and that's why they could be made. The irony is that people dont even know what indie films are.

He supports a lot of films getting onto otts specially indie films like dhuin, pohkar ke dunu paar and most recently Jaggi. He might not be able produce films due to monetary issues but he lends his voice to make them reach an audience. Hence he speaks so confidently. 😊

@@realisticflow9 may be the audience cannot do much to change in cricket but in cinema the audience contributes significantly. If they just stop watching mindless action films with cringe dialogues and poor acting and start watching films which challenge the notion of filmmaking then the indie cinema can also thrive. In Malayalam cinema the audience is open to new ideas and filmmakers and are not just watching commercial films.
Let the Audience decide, 80% of these awardee films are just snoozefest,people don't even watch it for free when available on UA-cam

The fact that that your review of a film is defined by the words snoozefest shows the intellect with which you watch a film. So yes not every film is made for everyone but to generalise it for each and everyone is such a stupid thing to do.
