Firestarter would be the first of two back-to-back Stephen King films Drew Barrymore did, as the following year, she would appear in the anthology film, Cat's Eye. It would wind up being the first Stephen King film to get a PG-13 rating, so as a kid, that movie would be my first introduction to King's work.
Firestarter was also the fifth feature length Stephen King adaptation released in a less than one-year span.
5:41 - Woman, you do not question Annette Funicello's vast, encyclopedic knowledge of peanut butter!!
Love the Dan Gurney Toyota commercial! RIP to one of the greatest racers.
I was 9 in 84 and watching a lot of television whenever I see David Keith I always remember him from An Officer and a Gentleman!
11:14- tells you how much times have changed when the generic for a branded drug is $4 less than the brand name.
0:29 - Otto's secret message was revealed to be "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine", I bet.
WNYT 13 News Promo- Interesting choice of the people who made this promo to use the moment of Nancy Cozean talking on the phone to promote her as a news reporter.
Maxwell House Decaffeinated- The sunset in this commercial is the most orangey colored I’ve ever seen.
Skippy Peanut Butter- Seeing the sizes of the treats that the woman lets her kids eat at 5:32, it’s no wonder that her kids eat too much sugar.
Incredible set. I’m about to go to a 40th birthday party, so it’s kind of neat to see the commercials that aired when this person made their own debut.
I just turned 40 last Sunday, so that is part of the reason why I posted these blocks from "V: The Final Battle" as they aired the week I was born.
I've actually been looking for a good block of TV from 5/12/84 since I started this channel but have yet to find one. I would also love to find a CBS block from 5/11/84 as my family remembers watching "Dallas" on TV at the hospital in the hours before I was born.
@@80sCommercialVault Happy Belated Birthday! I hope that you’re able to find the 05/11 and 05/12/1984 blocks sometime soon =]
@@80sCommercialVault Happy Belated Birthday Mike.
@@80sCommercialVault pannoni 8 has that CBS block with Dallas.
Forensic Files’ Peter Thomas narrates the end of the AMEX commercial.
Cheers-show wasn't the sane after Diane left
The Omen-"I want to know where that child came from.." those three numbers should be a big clue
Genesee Cream Ale-commercial music was also used in the General Cinema Theaters promo bumper that played before the film began
S.O.S.-wouldn't want to have dinner at that person's house
The A Team-vs. more graduates of the Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy
Re: Cheers, this was three years before Shelley Long left the show. Her character was back for the season 3 premiere in September '84.
Whoa! Epic beer beard! BEERD!!!!!
I love Citizen watches
