Whitesell is the best guy in Hollywood, hands down. I first met him about 25 years ago at Paramount and he was a prince back then and most recently I ran into him on set last year and he's still a prince. In fact, i think he helped me good a small part in his brother's movie back in 2002. But yeah, Whitesell is the BEST. Great guy to work for.
I am gonna be working at CAA this fall so this was great inside to agencies and where they can take you, as well as the effort to put in and how that rewards you!
Unfortunately haven't had that type of luck, there's no agency near where I live so having to learn as I go remotely. There use to be someone somewhat close which had I been given a chance I would've had absolutely no issue getting coffee and everything else. WME though is one of the places had in mind. Thanks for sharing, it's terrific hearing that someone that high up is like that towards someone learning. On a personal level I got into booking which led to signing up for college.
My cousins husband is Tom Mcguire who was the lead legal counsel for Endeavor talent agency. She met him while both of them were at law school at UC Berkeley back in the early 1980s. Today he moved to Netflix. Jo Powe is my cousin and one of her sons is a creative executive at Lucasfilms. A fairy tale life for them all evidently.
Good video.I just sent you a message with a few basic questions about WME. If you could provide some further insights that would be appreciated. Thank You for your time and sharing your experience with us.
Awesome video! I’m about to enter my freshman year at Wesleyan University to study economics and film in hopes to ultimately work for a large talent agency. I was wondering if you had any advice for what to focus on in college. Do you have an email I can reach you at?
I worked at UTA for a brief two months in the accounting department-music. It is not for the feint of hearts. Thats a 24 hour job. You need to really be about that life. Great benefits and perks tho. The pay is fair. The poor assistants however were really working from the bottom. Its is an intense job.
What made you leave? I start at APA in a few weeks and I’m kind of nervous I’ll be an assistant for two agents and one seems chill the other is a department head and seems intense.
I know that the William Morris Agency, hands picks their models, it is the best than all the rest. But, I want to know, spiritually & behavior wise. Do they have street mentality? Or, general education to succeed in life. Lisa
Hey, I loved your video! I am a college student in the UK and my dream is to work for a talent agency like Endeavor! I would love to get some advice on how to achieve this, is it best to write an email or just leave a comment here? Thank you once again for your time!
Harvard Boy - how come I can't get a break in the bizness , how come it says no call , no drop ins , must know a star , must have a referral ? Been struggling decades , 25 yrs non u extra work , pa, indie camera , production work ! Can't get into sag , can't pitch a script , no studio film , tv, commercial auditions ! U a wealthy privileged Harvard Boy ! Why can't a regular person talk to an agent ?
you can talk to ANYBODY when you see them. You have to know HOW to talk them though. Thats the tricky part. You have to know how to talk them that it piques their interest and doesn't waste their time. And if they can't talk to you, take a deep breath and give them their space.
@@geoff3103 u weren't responding to me Geoff , we're u ,👍🥃😂 2 years later 😂😂. Anyway , no a regular person can't talk to them , an agent , manager , casting director or come to the door 🚪 🚪, they slam the phone down without a star referral , u can't get even a small break ! 👍🎥📽️🎥🥃
@@garyny4073I was. And you have to know where you can find them outside the office, away from their gatekeepers. And yes, you can talk to them if you know how to. And agents like Patrick help people out all the time.

Good for you, I went to college with PW
How do you persist on asking to be the 3rd to 2nd assistant without seeming too pushy?
Very enlightening
