Our sin is too great. Confessing 1 or 2 sins a day is futile. Simply accepting the gift of righteousness apart from your efforts or confessions is what true repentance means. Come to Christ freely receiving grace. No attempts to twist God's hand by confessing anything.
But the purpose of confession isn’t to justification before God. It’s a tool to align the heart with God’s. A person won’t appreciate grace and be changed by it without recognizing their own sinfulness. I think that was the point of his houseplant analogy.
Serendipity had me stumble upon this gentleman's sermon tonight. Thank you for posting and regards from Australia. (I agree with the comment bellow me as to how few views this video has drawn. A shame really.)
One of my favorite new found theologians! Such rich preaching and teaching!

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. (1 John 3:1a)
Thank you ❤

Hugh McCann, Doug and NASA, priceless.
Are we thinking of the same NASA? I'm a big fan of space exploration as well.
Loved it when he said coated it with kleenex. That is so good.
