Otis was a dear friend of my great Uncle & our fmly back in his days. Otis, Tina, Ike, Guitar Slim, Thunderbird, Sam Cook, B.B. King & a few more all sang in my Uncles Bar back in their young lives. Otis actually looks like my Dad. They could have passed for bros they favored each other so much. But beautiful video & tribute to Otis Redding & his fmly is beautiful as well. Rest In Paradise Otis Redding ❤

I moved from Maryland to New York in 1968. I was about 6-years-old, then. We moved to Brooklyn, New York in the basement apartment of my grandmother and aunt’s three-story house. That’s when I first heard Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay. I loved the song. My mother told me then that Otis died in a plane crash, not knowing that song would become a hit. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this, Scott. It’s much appreciated.

His secretary of his Fan Club, l met her outside at this time he had recorded "Pain in my Heart and These Arms of Mind". He was a very polite young man. A young lady name Johnny Mae was with him. This was during the time when Fan Clubs were popular.

I have always wanted to visit Otis' grave or meet his family members. Just want them to know how much he touched my parents hearts and mine as well. He was the absolute best. Never to be forgotten. In the later 90’s i channeled Otis thru Automatic writing ✍🏼
He wrote words in not my handwriting. Straight across unlined paper.
The following year i walked around The newly created Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin. Got the chills when i came across a large Boulder memorial dedicated to Otis Redding, realizing Lake Monona is where the plane he was on crached 😢. Ever since i feel priveleged to have had contact with his spirit . 🤗🤗💝

Hi Scott, the lady that sang Tramp with him was Carla Thomas and soul singer Rufus Thomas was her father. The band that backed him up were the original Barkays, and yes they were fresh out of Booker T Washington High School in Memphis. Producer “Jazy Pha” Phalen Alexander was named after Phalen because that was his father’s best friend.

    Hi Scott.
I love your channel. I’m originally from GA, and I remember looking up where Mr. Redding was buried.
I Googled it, and to my astonishment it lead me to right where you are, down that long stretch of road. Honestly, I had no idea. Oh my goodness, that was almost 10 years ago. I love music in general, but something about his voice puts you in the era of that music, and I’m 46.
I appreciate all the time, effort and compassion you put into each video.
His passing was so tragic, and so many of the wonderful artists of his era were lost to different tragedies.
I’m sure that Mr. Redding will be very pleased at your presentation.
Originally from GA, residing in HI… Aloha!

Hi Scott: I am from Northern California. My sister had the great opportunity to see .r. Green in concert, at Disney land circa 1968.
All she talk about is a great showman ship he poccessed .
If you have the chance to go return to Macon, GA to see his statue after all the renovations.
As always I love your presentatios on your vlogs. Thank you😊

The building where he performed/funeral was held. Is just historically epic. The ranch/land is breathtaking. It kinda reminds of Otis Redding's Graceland. The way it's set back. The place he loved and always called home. Always a tragedy. To our communities. When someone is robbed. Of their full purpose and life. That was also true. For his follow passengers(R.I..P). His widow must be an incredible woman. To have to carry on. And raise the family. After all these years. Well done Scott! Did Otis Redding story justice.👍👍👋👋🎸🎵🎶
