well april rhodes became rich and donated a bunch of her money to them until season 5, and in season 2 the cheerios lost some funding and it went to glee club cause they lost nationals (cheerios lost I mean)
1) Chris winking was beautiful 2) Dianna holding onto Chris during some of the performance was great cause they don't ever seem like friends in the show. 3) Finn's confused expression at the beginning (Like every other performance)
Max Levine well, I wouldn’t call it a mini friendships. They spoke once in the whole season about giving Rachel a makeover and Kurt even commented that it was the first time Quinn had spoken to him.
I haven't watched Glee in yeaars but I've recently been rewatching old Glee musical numbers and Finn's confused expression that begins half of them has absolutely NO context for me anymore and is hilarious
Rachel could totally pass as Tony Stark’s daughter(her ego and confidence, as well as her intelligence would make sense), and this performance is her and her step-mom, Pepper Potts, having a little fun. 😂😂
That would’ve made this performance absolute perfection. In fact, Lea and Dianna could totally star in a remake of Chicago with Lea as Roxie and Dianna as Velma. Dianna has the sultry, seductive voice Velma has as well as her confident, ‘femme fatale’ attitude. Lea, obviously, takes after the diva, self righteous attitude Roxie has. I’d totally pay money to see THAT.
I'm still disappointed they never did a Chicago tribute episode. Don't get me wrong, I love the West Side Story episode, but if you don't have enough actors of the correct race for West Side Story, you're kind of missing the point of the musical as a whole (although I'm aware the film did the same thing with casting a white woman as Maria). It's just that with the incredible female voices Glee had, you'd of thought RM would have at least debated doing a Chicago tribute (I am aware plenty of Chicago's soundtrack has been covered as well). Although, tbf if they did a Chicago tribute and it was like Rachel as Velma, Kurt as Amos, Blaine as Billy, I'd of been pissed as hell, especially when Santana could be Velma, Artie would have been a killer Amos and Kudt could have slayed Billy
To be honest, I somehow feel that even if Glee had done a tribute to Chicago, I doubt whether they woukd have been able to do justice to it. I mean, have you seen their cover of the cell block tango? I'm not saying it's bad, but somehow it's hard to watch it after seeing the original one. These were just my opinion and I do not wish to offend anyone.
To be frank I was a little disappointed with Kurts version of 'Mr Cellophane' - I know he can give the feelings required for that song, but all he gave us was a comparatively flashy version to show off his vocal skills (though they were impressive).

oof nyla I think that the performance is them imaging what it would look like on stage that’s why they always cut between the glee class room and the stage but just my perspective
I also noticed in the background that mercedes, Santana, and well hell everyone were surprised. Because this is a new side of rachel. And the look on pucks face he loved it.
I loved everybody reaction once rachel removed that robe. It like they knew her only one way, but if you freeze at 0:56. You can see pucks reaction. Along with santana and mercedes. But pucks is the best because it is in facial expression "damn I didn't know this side of her. I love her more." But everybody else's was like who is this. We approve.
At 1:08-1:10, Kurt is so cute; it’s similar to how Zach Woodley looks when he is laughing-makes me wonder if it is intentional that Chris is imitating Zach for fun. (And Quinn holding onto him is adorable also)!!!
Funny, what they used to call so sinful, is now so quaint and tame by today standards. I absolutely adore that time period, there was so much elegance, everyone used to dress so nice, and treat each other like human beings, it just astounds me how fast our society has done a complete 180, where profanity and vulgarity or a part of every day life, I can imagine what someone from that generation would think about us! The culture back then was so restrained, yet at the same time, the subculture is the basis for all modern music, and the basis of most rebellion movements of every kind. We owe a lot to the people of that generation! And though it was way before my time, having been born in 1968, there’s just something about that era I just absolutely love, if you get the chance, try to watch some of the movies, and study the media and societal norms from that era, and you’ll be absolutely floored at how different it was back then. Censorship was quite harsh in those days, but on the flipside, it was so nice to see people actually get dressed up just to go downtown, or just to go to the grocery store, and even if it was false modesty, it was probably pretty nice to not face the kind of people that currently corrupt our culture, and set the new cultural norms. It’s just human nature, but I have to admit, I don’t like the direction we are currently going towards, but I suppose everyone has said that of every generation, because it’s also very human to dislike and/or fear what we don’t truly understand. But I have to say, for a modern show like Glee, they did a great job of taking us back to Chicago in the days of jazz and liquor!
For all of you complaining about this and saying that the original was better, we already know so stop. Obviously the original was better because this was just a cover and in Glee they do the best they can but they never try to be "better" then the original because they already know that they aren't, and the whole cast will admit it. These performances are just for fun and for the show.
I think their voices sound real good together. My problem with this is the dancing. It really doesnt do the song justice, it kind of ruined it for me. It was clumsy and kinda stupid looking.
it’s the original fosse choreography but definitely not the style of choreo lea is used to, and i don’t think gwyneth is even a dancer at all. fosse is very difficult for beginners so not sure why they kept the original lol
i wish high school actually included good costumes, lighting and pyrotechnics, and dance numbers with famous celebrity guest stars who are your substitute.
I see everyone complaining about the budget and stuff, but would you rather them doing it with nothing at all? The show sorta wanted to make it more fun for the audience :/
I think the friendship is more nuanced than that , like yeah they all find her annoying but they still support her. It’s like that with the whole club , everyone could hate each other and still sing along or join someone’s performance
The Hot Honey Rag Part Doesn´t have the original quick tempo similar to Charleston,i suppose that this could be for adapting the dance to the performers that need more time
Funny how in the closeups, Gwyneth is one step below Lea so the height difference wont be so noticeable, but from afar you can see that clearly Gwyneth is almost a head tallet than Lean
how are they always complaining about the glee club not being well funded yet they do the most when it comes to performing
Haha yeah
well april rhodes became rich and donated a bunch of her money to them until season 5, and in season 2 the cheerios lost some funding and it went to glee club cause they lost nationals (cheerios lost I mean)
Sue even made a few jokes about it in the show LOL!
It’s also a tv show lol, fox needed to make it interesting
they blow their money on shit like this
This high school has the biggest theater budget in the universe.
I wish UNIVERSITY theatre budget could do this.
jeanselina loll
And at multiple times they complain about it.
Yet they keep complaining about auditorium and bus fee to sectional hahaha
jeanselina No wonder Sue is always complaining about them.

I was thinking the same thing
@@sarawinardi7662 but their dancing sucks

Its good but nothing beats Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellweger in this Hot Honey Rag part! They're awesome! 😍
I'm overdue to revisit the movie
It’s the one movie musical I enjoy more than the stage format. Film as a media just did so much for portraying the songs in Roxie’s head
Um, check it out with actual trained broadway dancers, like Bebe Neuwirth, Chita Rivera, Ann Reinking, etc
Chris/Kurt was my fave part of this
Emma Griffiths got to love it
I seriously don't know how Sue and Schuster fight over money. My school can barely afford spotlights.
At school we use a truck as a stage v:
Stephanie wills assume that the sets are mostly in their mind.
April gave them millions of dollars so they had the money

Tony: we need to distract Thanos
Pepper:
Hahahahahahahaha
This actually made me laugh😭
We love Lea’s attempt at a cartwheel
After they shot the screen in the back, it should have changed so it said GLEE in big letters like in the movie Chicago how it said Velma and Roxie
Jesus Christ agreed
Yes or Rachel and Holly
Kurt and Quinn are fabulous friends oml they should've been besties they'd be fucking sassy and fabulous as fuck
OMG Kurt lip singing it
They lip sing in almost every performance but can still sing great tho
I meant Kurt in the audience is lip singing it when Holly & Rachel are performing it
ow haha never mind :P
And Finn's face
This duet is beautiful they harmonize so well.
Im so happy rachel got to do the performance she wanted
“But oh it’s heaven!” The violin just makes me melt.
This is so funny 😄 And the others reactions are priseless, especially Finns and Kurts 😂😂
And Sam and Quinn's
When Kurt winked it was so cute
Ya cause the way quinn is staring at rachel at 0:07 Is totally normal 😂😂😂 #faberry

Sometimes the glee performances have genuine reactions. Like when they see performances its the first time their seeing it
Daisy Aceves This was very likely one of those. “Lean on Me” was a first time one-take for Dianna and Cory too

shes sexy in s1-3 but not s4-6 the innocent schtick was so hot
Sharon Derya 😒

I feel that this is the only number that showcases Rachel’s dance training and it’s not even her type of dance. She does ballet. That is jazz
Tony Stark loves this
not gonna lie one of the best parts of this was chris/kurts lip singing in the beginning
Kurt’s so cute😂❤️
kurt singing along was cute 🥺
