It also contains magnesium, which is important for bone development and muscle function, and whey and casein, which have been found to play a role in lowering blood pressure.”
The crazy thing with the goal of CO2 reduction, and the move to plant based diets is that plants need CO2 to thrive. The lower the CO2 in the atmosphere, the harder it is for vegetation to grow, and as a side affect, the lower the CO2 the more water plants require to grow. At 150PPM of CO2 in the atmosphere plants start dying off. Which is a bit of a problem as plants generate oxygen, which is something all life needs Furthermore CO2 is required by reef corals in order to create their shells, in order to survive.

I'm all for having a planet that future generations of my family and all our families will thrive on but this guy is nuts. A more pressing question for the government is why there is a shortage of housing ? Why is the most important thing to all life on the planet , water , why is that not under state control ? Why are there not enough power stations to provide the people who ultimately pay for the construction of the power stations with cheap energy ? What the hell have successive governments done with the money that GB plc has earned since WW2 ? These are questions that need to be asked and addressed.
With respect, if you don't know & understand the answers to these questions, that's your problem. There's no big conspiracy, you just need to put some effort in & keep yourself well informed.
Why do you think water would be better managed under state control? I'm baffled by people who put so much faith in govt. They are less efficient than private enterprise almost 100% of the time (bar certain areas - defence for eg) and are to varying degrees, tyrannical across most of the world and throughout most of history. Even solid democracies such as Canada & New Zealand have demonstrated how easy it is for givts to over reach. When and why have people become so utterly complacent about the state? Anyone growing up in Europe last century should have their eyes wide open. And anyone younger needs to open a history book. We have spent our history trying to free ourselves from the state. Now you look to the state for everything 🤦♀️

I really can't see how the whole world would reduce land use by 75% if it was all vegetarian...as far as I am aware land use would increase as plant are less energy dense.
@@paulbss mmm not sure if that's the case .... Ruminants normally consume the waste from plant food production as they have a gastric system that maximises nutrient extraction from very low energy foodstuffs... E.g grasses, stalks, etc... The large scale switch would result in very high intensity farming in areas where multiple growing seasons could be achieved... Currently parts of Spain and Portugal have large swathes of agricultural land that is used in this way....and it is one of the primary sources of the introduction of microplastics into the ecosystem. This kind of intensive farming in these areas uses tens of thousands of acres where plants are grown under plastic, most of which is disposed of through illegal dumping, this plastic then degrades in the sun and is washed into rivers and the sea as microplastics. An increase in intensive plant production would exponentially increase the amount of plastics and chemicals into the world's ecosystems.

Some anti meat sources will claim that for every pound of meat produced 12 -20 pounds of feed are used, but this is primarily material that couldn't be used for human consumption... If we look at all livestock including milk production and beasts of burden then the global crop production used for feedstuffs increases to 32%.

He views every animal/fish as a person that is being exploited. What a prawn.
I drink milk and eat meat, because I like it 😁👍
He don't work so how is he funding his life 🤔
The people who are being "exploited for profit" (working) are paying for this bum.
I love James reaction when he said it's a racist drug had to hold his heart 😂
James Whale. Completely out of touch.
Couldn't end Covid in two years...but, yeah saving the PLANET in two years sounds absolutely possible
Fantastic tickled me no end..
What happens to all the animals? Who’s going to keep a cow as a pet?
india
How embarrassing.
He's wrong. He doesn't understand there won't be enough plants for everyone, and you can't "rewild" any piece of land. The reason farmland is used for anymial agriculture as it's pretty much all you can do with it.
He said It's the animals that eat a huge part of what is grown ....
So less animals around means less land req'd
As humans don't eat as much as a cow.
I'm not an expert but that's the argument.
Slowly reducing animal consumption and turning towards plant based seems to be happening
Should reduce obesity and heart conditions which is a big killer.
Not here for an argument just what I have heard.
@@potkettle46 What they don't tell you is a lot of the plants they feed to animals are the waste from what's grown for human consumption. A mix of arable & animal farming, plus crop rotation, which has been done for centuries, is the only way to go.
@@Poultrymad good point about waste...
With the prices shooting up there will be less waste ....
Food shortages coming I hear ....
As humans eat less meat maybe there will be less vegetables etc waste...
The waste issue could be addressed and a change in the way to suit better?
I'm sure I have heard a lot of changes recently about food waste in the supermarkets etc ....food banks etc.
It's a big issue waste.
But the harm and cruelty involved in the dairy industry in the UK I'm saying is not needed in modern days ....we have alternatives that need to grow .
I hate to quote the BBC but : “Cow's milk is a good source of protein and calcium, as well as nutrients including vitamin B12 and iodine. It also contains magnesium, which is important for bone development and muscle function, and whey and casein, which have been found to play a role in lowering blood pressure.”
Actually you didn't have to quote the BBC it says the exact same thing on Tesco whole milk bottles :)
His very pale! Looks like he needs a good steak to me. What a plonker 😂
Which is a bit of a problem as plants generate oxygen, which is something all life needs
Furthermore CO2 is required by reef corals in order to create their shells, in order to survive.
Unbelievable.
So is chocolate milk racist too? Double standards 😜 how stupid is life getting.
He's dead right about this. The dairy industry is horrific.
I occasionally come back to this video just to check the comments. Always cheers me up
I've had tiffs with James in past on vaccines but I love the man. Speaks his mind and sticks to his principles.
Speaks his mind that shouldn't take long
@@jimthomson101 hahaha says you with no substance, why wouldn't it?

After listening to Tim But Dim rambling, ranting eco nut job I had to say if he is representative of the future of of our nation Re open Bedlam and a few more as well. How James didn't turn him off I'll never know.
he IS our future. I am extremely scared.
Tim is one of the most delusional people I have seen on this station , and I’m aware that is a bold statement!
This is what bad parenting brings you. Spare the rod and spoil the child. If we do not act we will be faced with a generation of this guy...
I'm not violent...lol James wasn't talking about physically fighting him ...James is referring to the activists war on our food
He wants the government to excercise the violence for him.
He's an eco-fascist.
Always the governments responsibility, he does know I can make my own decisions doesn't he? In fact I've decided to have a cream cake and if it wasn't for my love of beer ( a plant based beverage) I would wash it down with unskimmed.
Your housing question: UK has run out of space and money. Where you going to build 10 million new houses?
"Professional poker player" 🤣🤣🤣
Also, you can find the guy's poker stats online, he's a joke - hardly a "professional"

Ok, they are stupid. Most dairy farmers will sell, or raise the male calf so they can then sell it for meat which gives them a secondary income!
Everything else is racist so why not milk? racist kinda lost its effect as more and more stupid things became racist, if you need to explain why something is racist by means of mental gymnastics and being hypocritical we can assume it is not racist
I worked on a golf course '76, cutting grass..... that was either dead or not there ...autumn came
Together, the nutrients in milk and dairy help to:
Keep muscles, bones, nerves, teeth, skin and vision healthy.
Release energy from foods and reduce tiredness and fatigue.
Maintain healthy blood pressure.
Support normal growth and brain development.
And even support normal immune functioning

What nonsense , animal protein and fish are good for health.

James blandly pronounces uninformed statements. That he does so insultingly and determinedly does not give him credibility.
, people say eating a plant based diet is to extreme. But I’d say cracking open a persons rib cage and pulling out there heart is extreme.
There isn’t a heart surgeon on this
planet that’s said , “ this person is hear because he or she has eaten to many fruits and vegetables.”
Racist drug ? Wtf is wrong with these people? Mental assessment urgently needed!
James on this I agree with you ...but on the vaccine definitely not ...take one for granny....
Glad I moved away from living in the U.K.
I really can't see how the whole world would reduce land use by 75% if it was all vegetarian...as far as I am aware land use would increase as plant are less energy dense.
Only if the population was drastically reduced as well.
I think the logic is that the majority of plants are actually fed to farm animals
@@paulbss mmm not sure if that's the case
@@kodi1969 ok. you seem to know a lot on the topic. I saw some study about in the EU there is about 60% of cereal crops that are fed to farm animals. However, i am not that well read on the environment topic regarding animal agriculture
@@paulbss the Greenpeace study is a little skewed in its data processing ... If we only look at ruminants then only 10% of there diet is made up of grain, with only 13% of global grain production being used for livestock feed. The majority of there feed is made up 86% of material that is inedible to humans often it's is from the by products of human food production... Some anti meat sources will claim that for every pound of meat produced 12 -20 pounds of feed are used, but this is primarily material that couldn't be used for human consumption...
If we look at all livestock including milk production and beasts of burden then the global crop production used for feedstuffs increases to 32%.
You can not grow crops everywhere
