Hockey Night in Canada
Wayne Gretzky, Ron Hextall, Brian Propp, Dave Poulin, Paul Coffey, Mark Messier, Don Cherry, Ron Maclean, Dave Hodge, CBC

I remember #27 Ron Hextall being an absolute beast in this Stanley Cup Finals & ended up winning the “Conn Smythe” award & there has only been 4 “Conn Smythe” winners in history to win the award who didn’t win the cup & out of the 4 there was 3 goalies that won it & this cup finals Ron Hextall won the “Conn Smythe” award.
1:58:16. D J.J. Daigneault's go-ahead goal puts Flyers ahead to stay, 3-2
Loudest the spectrum ever got
@Joey_PSU Even louder than when Flyers scored Game VI 1-0 Championship Series-clinching victory over heavily-f'vrd Bruins in 1973-1974 N.H.L. season's Stanley Cup Playoffs for lst, their back-to-back hoistings, hockey's 🏒 holy grail, late British-born Lord Arthur Stanley's cup in mid-1970s
Renee Veneziale sang Canada's 🇨🇦 National Anthem, "O Canada". It that was followed by screen shot, late Kate Smith singing "God Bless America" from outset, Game VI, 1973-1974 N.H.L. season's Stanley Cup Playoffs Championship Series bet. Bruins/Flyers, won by Flyers, 1-0 as they cl'nchd that series 4 games to 2 for lst, their back-to-back St'nly Cup ch'mpnshps in mid-1970s
propp's tying snipe, followed by rookie d-man j.j.'s goal (i still think mellanby tipped it)... that was the loudest spectrum reaction ever. hulk hogan, billy joel, springsteen, doesn't matter.
J.J. Daigneault was credited for go-ahead/eventual game-winning goal giving Flyers their lllrd comeback win in Ch'mpnshp Series against Edm. Oilers, 3-2 forcing lst decisive Game VII, Ch'mpnshp Series in Stanley Cup Playoff competition since 1970-1971 season when Bl'ckhwks/C'ndns dueled each other in Chi., Ill.'s f'rmr Chi. St'dm
Both the CBC announcers and the Flyers announcers on their broadcast used the phrase "going crazy" right after Daigneault's goal.
@@larrycopeland2413 Specifically Flyer analyst Eddie Van Impe, ex-D w/that team in their Stanley Cup title seasons in mid-1970s
Unlike McDavid, Gretzky shows up when it counts.
McDavid play-offs assists record low scoring ERA! Today only 6 goals per game NHL! In 1980s NHL 8 goals per game! Reggie Leach and Jari Kurri 19 goals play-offs record better than Gretzky!
@@RaineriHakkarainen Gretzky has more records than anyone in hockey and without Gretzky, Kurri would never have won a Stanley Cup.
@@Michael-fw5ef Jari Kurri played defence! Kurri was a sharp shooter 27,5% shots were goals! Gretzky had supporting cast Kurri Coffey Messier Glenn Anderson and so on! Edmonton Oilers won in 1990 Stanley Cup without Gretzky! Gretzky did not win Stanley Cup with Los Angeles Kings!
Stupid comment.
without Hextall, Oilers would have smoked them like a cheap cigar: quick and tossed aside
This forced first decisive Game VII, Championship Series in Stanley Cup Playoff competition since 1970-1971 season when host Bl'ckhwks/v'stng Canadiens f'cd off in decisive Game VII, that series w/Habs coming out as victors
1:55:17. F Brian Propp's game-tying goal in lllrd period knots score at 2 all
Nothing like seeing cigarette ads.
pause @1:55:36, what do you notice? or, not notice?
Do you have the ESPN version
Not sure I do. These are tough to find. If they turn up, I will definitely post. :-) Thanks for posting.
