Hey everyone! I'm his sister, for those who are wondering, my brother is okay! He's doing very well, in fact! It's just life caught up to him and doesnt have much time to really be making videos for youtube. I honestly didnt even know this channel existed until I saw his instagram account 😅 but anyways, he still collects retro things and still fixes things up from time to time, but work and family takes up most of his time. Plus he has a ton of unfinished projects 😅
Holy moley! I had a red one of these when I was about 11 years old. I thought that speaker sounded great at the time because all I'd had before that was a portable AM radio, lol. What memories.
when you said play Disco Inferno by the Tramps, to an 8 track player, and that thing kicked in I fell on the floor - Techmoan has to see this, even he will be awestruck
Your epoxy nubs not falling off of that smooth steel shaft is amazing. I'm surprised that you didn't have to drill into it and install screws in it. Great work, BTW.
Best way to upgrade retro equipment, if someone doesn't like it it's removable, the functions still work and you don't see the upgrade , normally people would say impossible or who bother but you did a really Amazing Job.
I just found a blue one cleaning out my parents basement. It's was mine when I was a kid. Along with a bunch of 8 track tapes. It's bringing back a lot of old memories
Surprising what that amp and speaker can do with a digital signal. Or, conversely, surprising 8-tracks ever caught on with the low-quality tape that was used.
Cheers for that. Speaker upgrade is fairly simple, Techmoan did it and I plan to do it too. Oh, speaker is already non-original. Anyway good work, wish I could do something like it.
how does the actual switch input to the bluetooth control upon hitting the lever? does it shoot an electric pulse to the control which activates the button?
Amazing! How did you modify the BT identifier to broadcast "Panasonic TNT" when in pairing mode? You thought of every detail, seriously! Much respect to your work man.
Josh McCormack It's not too hard. A few tutorials, eBay and a few basic tools should get you on your way. I got a broken PS1 for 5 dollars from a garage sale and with a screwdriver, drill Stanley knife and hotglue I mounted a raspberri pi inside running retro pi (I know not so original but it proves a point)
+Josh McCormack Like others have said, it's not that hard (at least extending the wires to the switches that control the Bluetooth device). Tapping audio into an existing device with no audio AUX input was new for me, so I did some googling to figure out how to do that. Stay tuned because my next upload I will start from scratch, doing the same thing to the clock radio I show at the end. I'll explain a lot more detail on how to mod an existing device you might already have lying around to do something like this.
use music from the youtube audio library via bluetooth next time to show it working. royalty-free and no copyright strikes in sight. the original amplifier might be okay to use with a better speaker, however. try that first before upgrading both down the line.
This is *very* cool! I love how you take these vintage electronics and upgrade them with modern technology but while also reatining their original functions. Very well done!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Have you made the video for that 1966 clock radio yet?
Dude, that's genius! I have one of those Panasonic TNT players, hah hah. Still works but no way I'd even try what you did to mine, lol. Keep up the good work and great ideas.
Dr. Moddnstine hi sorry and here is an explaination of the word accu in the english derictory. www.dictionary.com/browse/accu oh and its also another word for battery pack ( like a phone has)
Manny Calavera it is also a english word. but not common used . check this page www.dictionary.com/browse/accu . but yes we use the word accu for an car battery. also we use that word (accu) for more devices. like phone accu . and more electronic devices that have a battery pack
That is Freakin Amazing. Love Classic items like this and You modifying it like that all the better. I need to get on the look out for more stuff like that. Hope you have an Excellent day
This was like the iPhone 5c of the early 70’s this model came in a few different colors and was more expensive that other people’s 8 track players, and to be honest a GE PORTABLE 8tack model of the same years had a bigger and better speaker.
You can't exactly skip songs on 8-tracks, you are just changing tracks. And no, you can't skip songs on cassettes, but you can fast forward to the next one.
Are you still active? I saw your Aptiva video 3 years ago and subscribed to you on my old google account. Thankfully youtube recomended me that video again.
Your respect for retro tech is awesome
almost as good as your modding skills
I'm almost angry you have so little views, your content is so good man. Subscribed!
+Chris Fortney Thanks! Not sure what happened on this one :/
@@Bingusgingus nobody makes videos like these):
@@Bingusgingus he just started uploading again :)

This is seriously a hidden gem of a UA-cam channel. Awesome job, yo!
Where art thou? This channel is amazing
He came back, hes uploading again :)
is is almost romantic to see old classic tech with modern internals, but it does not change the min function of it. gj !
Let your fellow Techmoan/LGR/8-bit guy fans know about this channel. The man deserves ton more subs than this :)

I was about to link this video to Techmoan but I see you also know him from UA-cam :)
+Manny Calavera Yep, love his stuff. Contacted him to get his blessing about me using a little bit of his content. Nice guy.
Dr. Moddnstine Oh that's awesome. I had a similar project like you with the red television, I had a Telestar 4004, put an LCD in there from China.
Your epoxy nubs not falling off of that smooth steel shaft is amazing. I'm surprised that you didn't have to drill into it and

We miss you! Please come back soon
He just started posting again 😁
Very impressive project! I like how you've built it in so it still works with 8-track cassettes!
Best way to upgrade retro equipment, if someone doesn't like it it's removable, the functions still work and you don't see the upgrade , normally people would say impossible or who bother but you did a really Amazing Job.
I had one of these when I was a kid. You seriously need to sell these!

Im age 27 and just adore old stuff like this, you definately do good work on this, looks original but with an upgrade :)
Bro your channel is my latest fav.
Looking forward to all the modding you will do in the future.
I have no idea how to mod anything, but I love these videos man! Keep up the good, and I'm glad you're back to making content
Awe inspiring engineering. A truly avant garde work of art. Completely insane!
Nice bluetooth. Got same TNT. Mine is blue. Playing 8tracks now on mine. Bought mine for 4 bucks. Cleaned and oiled. Lol
You are a wizard
that´s cool man I like that an old classic item like that get a new life for modern use.
So NOT what I was expecting. *WELL DONE!*
Yo is the channel still alive? Seen some of your comments on Reddit, but no new uploads :(
He just made new content :)
genius
What happened to the Channel? No new video since over 1 year 😕😔 Is everything okay? 🙁
I was wondering that too. He gave a teaser about modding that clock radio but this is the last video from 4 years ago.
@@jasonw6688 It looks like many videos disappeared as well...
He just made more content :)
That chem bros 8 track is awesome and so is the rest of this project. Nice work.
This is incredible and inspiring. I have the same tnt player but not the same know how. I am so jealous.
That fps... GLORIOUS!
Wishing I still had my yellow Panasonic 8-track.
Thank you, grew up on this little gem!
You are doing the Lord’s work
This is so crazy. Awesome job.
How does the blue 8-track power on the bluetooth module since the notch cut into it doesn't press the switch ?

Love your channel man, just subbed. Hope you start making videos again
He started uploading again :)
Man I would love to do some stuff like this but I'm only 16 and don't have the tools or know where to get these vintage things.
Josh McCormack ebay and a few UA-cam videos should get you started!

Great hipster hack. Could I suggest the PanAmerican Airlines logo for your "special cartridge"? Wireless (AirPort) pun.

Awesomely done!
i was thinking so hard about the wu tang clan and was shocked when you said the charmels
mmm whats the desk fan?
Cool. are you gonna try 2 build an accu for it also?
+robdgekke What's an accu?
Accu is the common word for battery in Dutch (the kind you put in a car for example, not the AA batteries) which stands for accumulator.
Dr. Moddnstine hi sorry and here is an explaination of the word accu in the english derictory. www.dictionary.com/browse/accu oh and its also another word for battery pack ( like a phone has)

Help how can I do this to mine ?
Do you fix up old electronics? I have a 8 track player just like that. I can't find no one that fixes old things like that.
Cuál es el costo de este fabuloso aparato

Chemical Bros on 8 Track! Nice!

I love those Panasonic 8-track players..and your's looks in mint condition!
That's so cool!
this would be awesome to add alexa to
Super clever.
the bluetooth is so cool!!!
Please make a tutorial of how to convert floppy disk into SD card reader.
I have a suggestion, you should try a go pro with a head or chest mount, so you can have your hands free to fiddle with the things you made.
Epic shit man!
