Power Trip IS the best thrash metal band nowadays. Killer melodic riffs. My personal favorite is Executioner’s Tax (Swing of the Axe). POWER TRIP ALWAYS DOES IT FOR ME. RIP Riley. Fuck drugs.
received my version of "nightmare logic" today. as a fan of sodom, kreator and sepultura I love how fresh they bring out that old style. power trip are playing thrash the way it should be.
The band Enforced sound like a combination of Power Trip and Slayer, that is if any of Slayers newer stuff was actually good lol. Enforced is a pretty new band and they only have three albums so far but they're fucking incredible. Check them out if you haven't yet.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for introducing me to Power Trip! These guys are the real deal when it comes to old school Thrash! I really like how you can hear all of their influences in their music. I’m waiting patiently to receive their two records in the mail and I can’t wait. I also wanted to say that I’m a new fan of your channel and I absolutely enjoy all of your content. I’m also just about the same age as you so relate to your taste in music and all of the content you put out. I hope you continue to make new videos on Bands You Should Know. It’s super informative and it’s always awesome being exposed to new music from someone who likes the same things. Keep up the killer work and as always I look forward to seeing the next video! 🤘🏻
I fondly remember those days when all you had to do was turn on the radio to hear new music. Sadly, that's a thing of the past. So now I rely on people like you. Thanks. 😃
Watching this in honor of Riley Gale, who just passed away. No one can replace Riley in Power Trip, like no one can replace Chuck Schuldiner in Death. Gone too soon, man!
Territorial Pissing Contest! is probably the most badass opening line I've ever heard. Power Trip is that kind of band that makes me want to destroy something with a bat!
I've met them here in Philippines last february 2020 and it was the best show before this shitty pandemic happen and before Riley Passed away. I was looking forward more to this band
I love Power Trip, ever since first hearing Swing of the Axe (Executioner's Tax) I've loved them, reminds me of crossover bands like DRI, maybe some Prong, Exhorder (a band I think more people should know as well), Pantera, and many others. Love their drum sound as well, reminds me of Testament (especially on The New Order) or Forced Entry. In terms of favorite modern thrash bands though, I think I'd have to say Evile is my favorite, and also a band I think more people should know. Why is it all the good bands are usually obscure, underground, and not well known usually? Or at least are known but should be more known (like Testament or Death Angel, Dark Angel, Sadus, Vio-lence, Defiance, Forbidden, Heathen, Demolition Hammer, Cancer, Carnivore, etc.)?
I, too, love this band! Saw them open for the mighty Anthrax in 2016 here in Corpus Christi, and quite frankly, Power Trip stole the show, as tough as that is to accomplish. Charlie was absent from that leg of the tour due to something having to do with his wrists at the time, so maybe that explains it. The band wasn't complete. John Dette was filling in, and while he's good, he's just not Charlie...and dammit, I wanted to see Charlie! They also played the songs just a hair too slow, making it sound sort of like a cassette tape dragging just a tiny bit. No idea why they played them that way, but it took some of the excitement out of seeing them....so maybe that's another reason why Power Trip stole that show, to me. AND I NEED THESE ON VINYL, MAN! I only have the CDs, currently. Grrrrrr.... 🤘
Yeah, I saw Anthrax around the same time here in Austin. It’s just not the same without Charlie. But I could totally see Power Trip giving them a run for their money.
I've been thinking about grabbing an album or two and after hearing you, yeah, I'm pulling the trigger. Hopefully they're still in print 😅
Wow just got into this band because of you and come to find out their vocalist passed away this year. What a shame. RIP

Manifest Decimation is so underrated

Bad ass video, bad ass band.. another good Tx Hardcore/Thrash crossover band is 'Judiciary' from Lubbock.
How am I just now hearing about Judiciary?! Great shit! Thanks! And thanks for watching!
I saw an older metal head have a heart attack and pass away at a Judiciary show

Saw Power Trip at Tuska Festival in Helsinki this year, they were actually the first band we saw and I was fucking impressed!
Awesome band! R.I.P. Riley Gale!
