In the present video I did a second round (see first round above) comparing Guitar Rig 6 against AmpliTube 5 to identify which of these plugins can sound like the real all-valve Marshall DSL 20 Amplifier. This lunch box amp tries to bring the "Marshall" sound in a small package. Therefore, I compared the Brit 8000 amp from AmpliTube 5 against LEAD 800 from Native Instruments because both seem to target the classic Marshall sound. The real amp was played through a Marshall 2x12-inch with Celestion 70-80s speakers cabinet. I played with my Fender Stratocaster Player series guitar with the switch in the bridge position. The cabinet was mic with a Sure SM57 microphone connected to a PreSonus Studio24 c interface, and recorded into Studio One 5 Artist version. Which plug in sounds more like the real amp?
This is not a sponsored video, I purchased all the plugins and analog equipment with my own money.

Thanks for this comparison. To me, the real deal just _wrecks_ the emulations. And that saddens me, cuz we live in the 2020s, and by now I would have expected much, _much_ better emulation of something as fundamental as a Marshall amp. If the software can't even emulate a bread-and-butter basic like that, then what chance does it have of emulating even more exotic amps.
Thanks Psiga for your comment, I agree, technology on plugins keeps advancing but is not yet quite there. Let’s stay tuned to see if the next update of these plugins has closer real-amp sounds. Thanks!
