Too bad the three dragon sets don’t offer weather resistance but it’s manageable

@@jayyyyy3085 i can’t remember the exact locations but the Farosh based one is literally tied to the main quest and it the only one that you cannot miss in order to complete the story but like how Austin has this video for Naydra I’m sure he’ll have a helpful video for Dinraal and Farosh’s armor

Here's how the Dragon Sets *_should_* have worked: "Weather Attack" gives every hit of your weapon that element (I.E. an unfused weapon gets fire damage with every swing) instead of just an elemental burst at the end of a combo or charge. And the set bonuses would negate the negatives of the intense weather conditions.
The Ember set would make you Heatproof at level 2 (but not Flameproof because that's a different weather)
Frostbite would give you Coldproof at level 2
and the Charged set would give you Unshockable at level 2.
Then the 3 dragon sets would actually be worth using!
Yeah. Shame, too, as they're some of the nicer looking sets in the game, as well the only ones to change Links hair color when you dye them.
Except the ember armor functions both in heat and flame areas
I do agree that weather resistance should have been the set bonus. Shame that it isn't.
Yes, but giving it a weather resist that obsoletes the desert voe armor, AND mostly obsoletes the flamebreaker armor would be a bit... *much*
@@Mightylcanis we have 3 armor sets that five attack up. There’s no reason the Dragon sets couldn’t give elemental resistances as well
I like how with the dragon sets, if you dye the headpiece then Link's hair will also change colors.

Absolutely love these three sets. The concept of dragon ceremonial clothes is just too cool. Also if you dye it blue in Hateno, it'll dye your hair blue too, which is pretty sweet

Honestly I really like the way the frostbite shirt looks to the point thats my main piece of armor combined with the Ember headdress and Royal guard trousers, I really like the look.

@@rcclub6677 I do like that the sleeves are not connected to the main body, I didn't really think about the back because it's coverd by the equipped weapons and shield so you never really see it unless you are looking for it and I really love that the markings glow blue when you are in cold environments.

These aren't really armor sets I'm planning on using but I like these videos because you show all the caves that also have the Bubbul gems, which I find a bit more important 😁

one of my favorite new armor sets in terms of aesthetic! my friend group has been calling it the SLAY armor because of the sexy open-back look. my favorite new set for utility purposes is probably the glide set, followed by the froggy set.
Don't forget the blue nails! 💅💅
To me the glide set is really the only necessary one for play as the zonai gear just means most of these pretty worthless. Why would I use frost armor to cross a river, when I could make a hoverbike or boat? And why use any of them for status effects when I can just throw a status effect or use one on a bow and keep on my barbarian or radiant armor? I think they're really cool, but they don't make sense outside of the very early game.
It's a common issue I've noticed throughout the game that as you get farther less of the features are as viable as they once were or have aged poorly. Plus I think I'm slowly leaning in the idea swapping armor constantly is infuriating. Think about it, mid-late game you need to swap to zonaite armor for using vehicles, barbarian or phantom for random enemies, radiant for harder enemies, froggy for wet caves, etc. It's kinda annoying. I've noticed it a lot more in this game than BotW.

Things aren't less viable just because you got something better. You aren't competing against other players using some meta option, mobs don't change strategy just because you got zonaite armor.

That's basically the definition of less viable. Viable means effective so if it deals less damage breaking my weapons faster or hurts me to wear, yes, it less viable.
And it doesn't have to be PVP or multiplayer to be better to use better gear. Its better, why not use it? Not to mention the effects are basically nullified by just carrying a magic rod or throwing fruit.
If I'm fighting things why use anything other than phantom armor or barbarian unless you don't have them? Or how about radiant? Those directly deal more damage so weapons are less likely to break in a single fight.

Hey Austin, do you think you can have link do an open house for us all? Very curious as to how you set it up. I have mine set up as a storage warehouse. 3 weapon rooms, 3 shield rooms and 3 bow rooms, since I really have not done much korok hunting.

Ended up using the Frostbite shirt as a part of my main armor set for the whole game since it looks pretty
My favorite outfit style set to wear is the Voe headpiece, the Ember Shirt, and either the Ember Trousers or the Sand Boots for style purposes

So I think this is the best of the 3 weather armours as cold weather is much more consistent than heat or thunderstorms with Hebra and the Gerudo Highlands being cold all the time and the Gerudo Dessert and Valley being cold half the time plus there are sky islands above Hebra and the Gerudo Highlands that are cold too, the Ember set only helps in the Gerudo Dessert and Valley during the day and it's inconsistent due to shadows and in the hot caves in Death Mountain and the depths below Death Mountain, the Charged set is the least useful because thunderstorms are pretty random and only last a short while with the only benefit being that thunderstorms don't require food or elixir buffs like hot or cold areas do
If wizzrobes were more often with other enemies, in theory you can use them as an advantage if you let them change the weather to the right set you have and then deal with the other enemies with the weather boost
Thunderstorms still have the equipment disadvantage of having to not have metal on so instead of needing a potion or just taking the constant damage for the stackable atk up, as I do... The thunder one seems to be the most annoying since the non conductive weapons are weaker than the conductive ones... (Can't use savage Lynol bows)
Honestly, all three of these sets kinda suck. Ember set is a aesthetic vibe, though, I'll keep that one. Frostbite and charged are rupee fodder though, now that I know how these work. The set effects feel very underdeveloped or at least under-playtested

Oh yeah, I did the Mushroom Haven quest last night. Deep in that cave, like, WAY deep, past a crouching part, is a really cool spot with a bunch of mushrooms in it. Unfortunately, it’s mostly cave shrooms with a Hearty Truffle and a big version. It might be nice if you can’t put food effects stackable food, but you can, so…

I use the shield surfing jump if need a slightly longer and higher jump

Hey, havent seen anyone talk about this yet, but if you wear the divine helm of the species that it goes with u will see the ancestor of that character ( wear the lizard helm from botw = your goron guy will wear the helm of the cutscene goron)

One thing i never noticed till recently was when you wore either the frostbite or ember(and maybe the thunder i just don't have it yet)armor and when your in the appropriate weather parts of the armor will glow

My thanks again Mr. John. I love the armor, but it makes little sense to wear a fire proof armor if you get burned. May I offer something I found that when you ask the pro's the best ice keese farming, no one has done better then maybe two here. From Tauyosipun shrine, walk alittle east and a tad north, you'll find the frozen bank. 3 ice lizolfas and SEVERAL ICE KEESE at a tower fort. Happy hunting.

You might've covered this but... since it's based off the environment, would you still be able to get the ice effects if you had a fire weapon/shield equipped? Or would it register as "too warm"
You do still get the effects! I love popping on a flame gleok weapon with this set. No cold damage and strong fire and ice elemental damage. It's amazing

Not sure if the newer patch changed it but you don't have to go home and sleep for the bug guy. I just wait at a nearby fire till morning, he restocks every morning.

1:25 - I just moved the boulder to the front of the thorns and climbed it to hop over to the chest.
at the end of the video you are not wearing any cold resist armor and just a ruby on the shield yet you are in an area that normally requires 2 levels of cold resist, does this armor have a hidden effect to negate cold weather at rank 2 and up?
