    Bjorn Bornholm the man who brought the Japanese art of bonsai to UA-cam and started a global bonsai revolution. This video really does show how in touch with your audience you are. While other bonsai UA-camrs are trying to wow subscribers with huge transformations or pumping out other peoples content re packaged and re purposed, you are showing basic yet seriously important practical information on how to a prepare a tree that is of course ready for exhibition. As always you will be the peoples King of UA-cam bonsai. Thank you as always mate.

    Gorgeous specimens. Wish I could actually see an exhibition tree up close. I've actually never seen a true bonsai in person.
    The one thing on these videos that always gets me, is I wish I could get a handle on pruning different junipers. For over a decade now, ( been growing small trees for over 20 years ) I've been trying to figure out proper pruning for various Junipers. I have several species, and none look like the pads you seem to so easily develop. Beautiful work.

    Oh I'm so sorry that chunk of bark broke off. I kind of have mixed feelings on reattached bark on show trees, I wouldn't mind it at all if it wasn't in competition.
    I know that you will do the right thing and tell the judges that there is a major flaw into it that recently happened. I hope with honesty that the grading of it isn't so impacted too harshly. To achieve victory or not, what truly matters is to have fun.
    I wish you best of luck.

    Sadly, I've never even seen true bonsai in person except my own which definitely aren't show worthy but one day I'll see them. Being only a hour from Nashville, I know how the weather has been around here so hope all has been well there. I live literally right next to Waverly where the bad floods happened and it's been hard. Had plans with my wife to finally attend the National show but due to the weather events as of late, it's not gonna be possible yet again. I'll see true bonsai eventually though. I'm only 33, plenty of time! Also, those pines need more negative space. Especially the JBP. I know it's a client's but boy it's dense. Just my opinion though. Everyone to their own

    Would it become a problem for the tree in the long run if you reattach a piece of bark like that permanently? I'm thinking of moisture accumulating behind the reattached bark leading to rott or mould or something like that?

    • @invertevision4757
      @invertevision4757 3 роки тому

      Its no different than all the other bark. It's all dead tissue from the get go.

    • @Gunzprobish
      @Gunzprobish 3 роки тому +4

      Iv seen wire on trees in shows, but its typically very minimal

    • @RyanMatt12
      @RyanMatt12 3 роки тому +1

      Wire is pretty common on conifers because they take so long to set in position, but it should be unobtrusive and neat. It's usually frowned upon on deciduous trees. Guy wires are bad on any trees though.

    Hi Bjorn, I always get problems with my pine trees after I wire them. They seem to get an infection and the leaves fall off. How do you prevent this from happening. Do I have to do anything to prevent this from happening. Thank you so much.

    I live in the Hudson Valley NY I have been planning to attend the National show. I was under the impression you could buy tickets at the door. You said the show is essentially sold out. Am I wrong? This was going to be my first year and I have been dreaming about the day for almost 2 years now.

    • @EiseienBonsai
      @EiseienBonsai  3 роки тому

      Yes, due to venue capacity issues, it is sold out. However, I've been informed that they will open up ticket sales at the door again on Sunday afternoon.
