Concave is THE beginner dino. Lots of speed and stamina, can travel over the map fast for quests. Everything that could kill you can‘t catch you, everything that can catch you is too weak to really pose a danger. Since the Update i like it‘s look too, now it looks like the Carcharodontosaurid that it really was.
I'm still very surprised that Conc is getting the Ripping Kick over the Laten or Deinonychus. Although, IF Alioramus were to get another leg ability, I think Ripping Kick could work for it too. And i agree on the issue of Meg having higher combat weight than the Conc, Metri or Alio even.
@@Ju5t4l1z4rd the irony is, that too may have been better suited for the Conc than Deinonychus. It would be a clever nod to the “flesh grazing” hypothesis some have proposed for Carcharodontosaurs (which the Conc is a member).
That's not an issue at all. Meg, at it's upper estimate, could have been as heavy as a small allosaurus. I think Meg's combat weight it completely fine.
@@jaredmc7982 Monitor lizards have razor sharp teeth, so I don't think it's necessarily "unfitting". However, it would be a better choice for conc, which is sorely underpowered rn. edit: nevermind, I got confused. Yes, that ability is really unfitting for deinonychus, and much more fitting for conc
@@altraxx9731 What does varanids having sharp teeth have anything to do with the points I made above? The criticism was about the Slicer bite being given to Deinonychus vs giving it to a Carcharodontosaurid, like Concavenator. As for the mass estimates of Megalania, I typically see them around 300 - 570 kg, which would be comparable to the "adolescent" to very small "subadult" Allosaurus in this game. Though I saw one very extreme estimate of nearly 2,000 kg (which would be within some of the current range estimates for large adult Allosaurus), which is very, very questionable for a terrestiral varanid lizard of 7 meters. Logistically, you might only get a Megalania of 2,000 kg (2 metric tonnes) IF it was well overfed and morbidly obese. But back to the Megs in this game. They've made the Meg insanely agile for its size, with massive stamina and stamina regen buffs for an ectotherm, and then you add venom on top of that, you have a creature that's very OP when you couple that with its higher combat weight next to the Conc, Metri, Cerato, and even the Allo to an extent. If they switched the combat weight with either the Conc and/or Metria, the Meg still has its small size and agility to make up for a reduced combat weight, and the Conc and/or Metria wouldn't be the glass canons that they are now, when it comes to taking hits.
If it can get killed by a pachy easily in a one on one fight, it's definitely not worth it in my eyes. Many say its 'the' beginner dino, but there are much better options for that, like cerato. It's a shame because Carcharodontosaurid are my favorite dinosaurs, but conc simply isn't viable for anything other than running away. I hope that it gets buffed eventually, and is actually a viable option for combat,
I think it’s how it’s played more then it it’s self I killed two defense concs on my balanced pachy in a 2v1 and then I got on my defense conc and fought 2 attack pachys and made them retreat because of the damage and I was still above half and killed an adult stego on my conc as well even though that was a close fight but still a 1v1 a stego always is so I think it’s more in if it suits your play style or not and of course you going to dye a lot learning how to play that Dino but if u practice it makes all the difference.
I use the speed build on him and the best way to play is hit and run bleed attacks. Let the bleed drain his health while using the speed to stay away. When you get good at it you don’t need defense.
That Trike at the end was stupid. A Duck does not need to be defended against a single Conc, the Duck should totally be able to handle that on its own. And if a Conc can solo a Duck then it deserves the kill.
I used to love the conc but his speed got nerfed too much in the last couple updates. A balanced conc before the nerf with the speed tail used to be as fast as the speed conc is right now.
Defense conc is the BEST LOOKING version ! You just need to pick better colors for the quills / feathers 🤣 Nice video tho. I love the conca because it's a Jack of all trades, especially useful on Gondwa and to escape big groups (or finish something in water). Oh and i just have to say that even without being smart and patient in your short pvp session (for the video purposes i presume) you still managed to do a lot of damage and even kill a meg lmao GG. Conca is a glass cannon.
i was playing as a speed conc with full aquatic abilities on singleplayer panjura and it couldnt keep up with the arapima fish i dont know if that was just me though but its definitely one of my fav dinos to use
i think it's kind of logical that the Meg has a higher combat weight than Conc, Alio and Metri. theropods are more akin to birds, which have hollow bones, trading weight for agility (and flight) basically. the Meg is a giant varanid - which are a group of pretty heavy reptiles.
Hollow bones actually don't make animals lighter because the bones are denser. They can make the animal more buoyant though which can make them feel lighter. This is because there can be air inside the bones. But the primary thing that makes hollow bones so good for flight is not the buoyancy, but the fact that the respiratory system can run THROUGH the bones themselves, allowing the animal to get proper airflow to fuel it during flight.
Got the game like a week n a half ago and I've tried almost every dino, Conc and sucho being my two favorites so far, followed shortly by Cerato. Sucho is nice for escapaing from anything bigger than you with speed, or beating anything smaller than you with force. Conc is pretty much the same way but even faster and weaker. I really like the semi aquatics but holy crap is spino useless by itself, anything with a decent speed stat can just run circles around it. I quit playing it after getting killed by a pack of megs. I took them into the water and messed them all up good but they would just switch out when one got low hp and another would come into the fight. Meg needs an HP nerf. I hit them SO much and none of them died. Sarco is only good for ambushes so he gets destroyed in a straight up fight pretty often. HP is way too low. So far I think the smaller, faster dinos are the best. So Conc/cerato is probably my #1 pick atm. The "apexes" are all way too easy to kill with smalller, faster dinos. Just run in a circle chomping over and over. Quite lame. Now that I play smaller dinos I can easily just troll spino and rex all day long and they can't do anything about it.
Trikes are op Af. No way something that big should turn that fast and also be fast with its charge. Plus they get a buff with other trikes and take reduced head damage? Get out of here
the heavier a dinosaur, the higher his damage-intace, picture a dog biting an elephant, wouldn‘t do much damage? Correct. Now picture the same dog biting a cat. My advice find a community server with passive growth and a big xp buff. That way they're all worth growing!
This convinced me to try the conc now. I'm growing a suco but smaller dino's are more my style since they are easier to feed and escape when needed.
