For our speed run esc, we'll solder a short wire w bullets onto the esc wires. Cap pack can be removed on the fly. Nice when a cap blows and can swap out.
@@IRONCLADRC yes of course. Shoot me an email at growthlife73@gmail.com. I've got a few good tips to share w you to apply from my rc car speed running experience.
Little tip for shink wrap. If your wrap isn't big enough to go around the cap pack and esc wires, use a small clear plastic bottle as shrink wrap. Cut both ends to size, then put over the wires and cap pack, use a heat gun to shrink bottle wrap and Bob's your uncle😂😂
Gr8 vid my friend..... I was wondering if the wire gauge on the cat pack should be the same gauge wire as the ESC.... Thanks for the lesson...... ☮️~~~~~I’m out.....👍🏻😎
The goal of the cap pack is to provide local current to the ESC because of the long wires to the battery. Making the cap pack wires larger would help with how fast the cap pack can provide that current to the ESC -- lessening the voltage ripples, the downside being the larger wires are much harder to solder cleanly to the ESC wires. It's a trade off. Some cap packs are on a PCB that solder directly to the battery/ESC wires, so no lead wires to the cap pack are used -- much better, but sometimes harder to cleanly fit into your boat
I think this is a good idea as you can tuck the cap bank away from the esc a bit,I use a capbank HEFEI 63V from offshore electrics and I now add a connector XT90 so I can remove and share the capbank with other escs
@@eduardonessim4499 Eduardo😊 I think they suck up the extra spike current and mimic a more powerful ESC but I'm sure Mr Ironclad RC will give you more of a description sorry it's not my channel
@@eduardonessim4499 Think of it like a mini battery pack that can charge up and discharge lightening fast. It prevents voltage sags if say you goose the throttle hard and the voltage dips....this will stiffen the supply voltage for half a second etc and give the battery a chance to catch up. It works really well on crawlers with super high torque steering servos that cause massive voltage drops because the BEC in the ESC can't keep up. I would imagine in a boat as well if you have a monster servo.
Hello, please tell me, this is a revision of the ESC Flycolor 150A. 1) What are the capabilities of the ESC Flycolor 150A? 2) It will be possible to use lipo 8s akamulators
Slightly off topic Burnt up the ESCs in my Zonda. In your opinion, is that 150A Flycolor equivalent or better than the stock 120A Seakings that I burnt up?
Basically reduces the low voltage ripple during a speed run or hard trigger pull. Reduced voltage ripple will allow full power transfer from lipo/ esc to motor. So the esc doest cut power.. Basically
How do you figure 🤔 it works I got 95mph out of my veles 29 with this exact same esc and cap pack, Temps were under 110 degrees. Lol. May not be pretty but it works.
hey congrats on hitting 16k subs!!!

what voltage and uf of cap pack do u use? did u have video tutorial of how to do cap pack are they parallel to each other?

Sweet, another first comment, good video too!
What does a cap pack do? How does it improve the performance of the boat?
It doesn't really help in performance so to speak it really just helps reduce voltage sag voltage ripple from the lipo to the esc
@@IRONCLADRC i am not sure what does that mean. Is it smoother ?

It's not Aida's capable if that's what you're asking and it has a hard time with the TP power 4060 TP power 4050 is a better choice for that ESC

@@IRONCLADRC Hero!! Thanks again for the hatch vid 👊👊
Is this base on every cap pack install
Pretty much. There are different variations, of course, so basically yes sir. THANKS FOR WATCHING
What SIZE Cap-Pack did u install here... on the 150 ?
4 Rubycon ZLH Capacitors, 35v 390Uf each.

Those are some terrible solder joints god damn
Why you watching a cap soldering tutorial if you know how to solder!!! I'm still running this speed control in my fleet! Maybe ugly, but it worked 💪
Not trying to be mean, but you do not know how to solder and what you just did was a total waste of time.

@@IRONCLADRC Again, not trying to be mean, but when it comes to soldering, "pretty" wins over "a cats ass sewed up with barbed wire", every time.
