did you know that whatever kind character you build in skyrim, you'll always become a stealth archer.
I was playing a destruction mage using ordinator and it somehow turned into a magic sniper.
Kashif Farees taking advantage of the npc stupid ai is the best way to play skyrim
Kashif Farees me
Immersive Detection of NPC's.
bitch please, max smithing, enchanting, alchemy.
dual sword yield with absorbs health/stamina each.
cut through enemies like butter while recovering health and stamina.
A cool side effect of the Ranger perk is it can help when you're over encumbered. While you won't walk at normal speed, you still walk faster with your bow drawn.
IIRC, you don't even need Ranger for this. Just draw an arrow and your character moves faster than the overencumbered speed.
Go werewolf... what overweight
Or just use your companion as a portable chest to hold your stuff
Use the some dramora merchant or companion power to move extra gear or sell it
Should use console commands. Then you never have to think about overencumberment again.
Favor the bow eh? I'm a swordsman myself
Until you take an arrow to the knee...
@@christopheralbright6442 you can be a swordsman after marriage

Of course it's worth it. How else are you going to put arrows in knees
Oh God, please stop!!
VDMW Moldis STAHP
I usualy give the knees owner a "shield into the face", followed by a few stabs and swings with my sword. Then i stab the knee with a randome arrow i just picked up.
But it's a open game, if you think shooting them is better, doo it your whay. ^^

Every time I play Skyrim, I end up with a mage who has mediocre magic skills and exceptional archery.
Michael Graff then u have a brain tumour
Everyone's magic skill is lousy until you get 100 enchanting and smithing. Something about perfect magic with an armor rating higher then a tankard
Bound Bow my friend. Bound Bow
@@infiniter4in178 Still mighty weak. Seeing how its unsmithable. Although i did just grab survival mode and thinking of teching that way very quickly cause of the whole 0 carry weight thing. Is it good enough for mid to endgame to do that?
@@212mochaman NOPE. It’s goddamn trash when you level up past 10
So I was playing Oblivion. Infiltrated the Mythic Dawn's Base.
Approached two MD acolytes in conversation.
One asked if talk of Oblivion gates opening all across Cyrodiil was true.
The other one hoped it wasn't true.
"This build is gone be a two handed warr... Damn it".
@Adolf Hitler that's cool. Taking into account you're Hitler.
It’s not that hard. Just don’t pick up a bow

- If you use a bow: Yes.
- If not: No

Sneaky me or you?
Sneaky I think your missing the joke
@@sneaky5141 it is a joke
P.S If you have Power Shot with the Force Without Effort Effect and a crossbow you will stagger 100% of the time and 75% of the time with a regular bow
Prodigy Gamer wouldn't Crossbows stagger 100% of the time just by getting the Power Shot perk anyway since they have a natural 50% chance to stagger already?
RoboGameBoy64 Oh shit yeah I forgot
Prodigy Gamer just read up on that, apparently it only increases it to a 75% chance, so you'd still need that other perk you mentioned for 100% stagger
Thank you!
What would have made this video useful is showing the perk tree while you're explaining that perk.
Yes very difficult to put 2 and 2 together myself
Yes, or showiing footage specific to the perk being discussed at the time.
Instead we all just got to see what the slow time shout does, like we didn't already know... 🙄
Is Medium Armor worth it?? Oh wait...
Damn I miss Medium Armor, it was my go-to armour skill in Morrowind
rip dreughskin armor
Wasn't the best medium armor orcish? Orcish was absolute crap armor.
Orcish was heavy.
In Morrowind Orish was Medium.
Best Medium Armor would've been a Redoran master Helm, Ebony Mail, Orcish Greaves and Indoril for the rest. With Tribunal it became better to use Royal Guard Armor with the Ebony Mail and Bloodmoon made the Stalhrim/Ice Armor with the Ebony Mail a decent option too.
Also, Adamantium was pretty cool and decent to go around with.
I loved Medium Armor despite it being the worst choice you could make :P
I always find the slow time ability during zooming to be a little too op. But that's just me
Another reason why sneak archer is so powerful.
Really? I found that it messes up my shots on targets moving horizontally across the screen.
Archery is OP. Period.
If that meme dodge makes you fail the shot then you should not be playing as an archer mate.
Ariok cuz you dont know how to aim. Never draw your bow while aiming on legendary especially. Draw the bow the aik shoot fast
Sneak archers are people who can't play
not really, its just fun style, myself i have a pure mage thats immune to any magic and a proper warrior i can play other styles but in the end i go back to stealth archer and pure mage
Sneak archer playstyle seems noobish for me.. I just run conjurer mage with archery as my secondary for certain missions

Nah #Range more efficient
range is for cowards. real women use swords!
@@adirmugrabi or Horker tusk... right? RIGHT? ahhh sweet dibbela and her art of "cough" "caugh" love
@@adirmugrabi I use bows and swords (both are bound/conjuration weapons, because infinite arrows is overpowered as hecc, and bound swords look cool and probably deal more damage than the Master Sword [you know, that one sword from the zelda games {because i play on Switch}] that I got from the Throat Of The World). Range is not being a coward, range weakens the enemey before they even have a chance to get to you. If they get close enough, I whip out a sword and start slashin' away.
Great video guys even after the 500+ hours I've played you guys always teach me new stuff and help me improve my builds i now know how to better build a stealth archer keep up the awesome work guys
You sure about that 500+ hour time MAIQ???
critical is very useful when you use bash with bow/crossbow - it deals full bow's damage with it instead of just pushing them back.
I'm always using an Archer & Conjurer, really like that style.
Recovering twice as many arrows from bodies would be very nice, however my victims are often flying so far when taken out silently, that it's easy to lose track of them.
Make a Snow elf build! Using Ancient Falmer Armor and Mastering the all the arcane arts(Mainly Ice/Frost destruction spells). Race could be a high elf and use the white face paint to look paler. You guys could come up with the backstory of her/him. Love your vids!
Sounds like rp with extra steps
Awesome! Been waiting for a video like this, making an archer character and really wanted to know the good and bad about all the perks for archers. What are you thinking your next video is going to be in this series? I'd love to see which sneak perks you reccomend, or alchemy for that matter, making poisons and potions has always been a passion of mine in skyrim.
Thank you!!
These are the questions I need answered.
I'm not playing on a PC so I don't know the background base damage or what other details info.
So thank you VERY much for these Is it worth it discussions!!:-)
1:10 this really made me laugh. Stopping for target practice in the middle of a bow rampage 😂 beautiful shot as well
great video helped a lot with my new archer 👍
Bullseye can be useful if you don't use Slow Time very much. You fire into a group and paralyze someone, allowing you to focus on the others and then return to the original target(s).
0:50 WTF WHY DID YOU KILL THE DOG?!:(
Bandit dog from the OBIS mod, its hostile.
I NEVER kill dogs. Always use Calm on them
I also never kill them... That's the atronarchs job. XD
nah that's nothing. Try killing a chicken.
hold on now, im not suicidal
Quick shot DEFINITELY helps when using crossbow! That’s what I love bout it the most cuz DANG that crossbow takes a while to reload
I have awaited this video so long, gods be praised
Archery is one of the best perk trees in skyrim. Probably the best combat perk tree.
Hey guys! I am running your Arcane Archer build, so this was really helpful.
Could you guys cover Conjuration next?
Quick shot is amazing for a stealth archer, it allows you to take out multiple enemies in a room quickly, great for when you have a few enemies idling looking at each other
If you get the bound weapon perks and get a bound bow you don’t need to even worry about arrows
The bound bow does way less damage than a fully smithed bow. It's certainly nice not to have to worry about arrows, but my most recent character is now at like 3000 arrows in inventory without buying a single arrow. Arrows are weightless, so just pick up any you see, and you'll have a near infinite supply.
@@drakedbz
i love how each of these comments is written a year apart.
anyway... you're wrong about the bound bow. without mystic binding, it does the damage of a dwarven bow, and with mystic binding, it does slightly more than daedric but lower than dragonbone. it has the lowest weight of any bow, which means highest draw speed, even faster than zephyr or auriel's bow. it is literally the highest dps weapon in the game. even if you use glitched smithing potions on your dragonbone bow, the draw speed will make the bound bow more effective at taking down groups of enemies. it can have both soul trap and banish daedra built into it without enchanting perks. it gets boosts from both conjuration and archery and levels both skills.
Mudge Fuppet, my dude.
I got a little nostaglic feels around 2:04 when I realized you put hunters dream ost from bloodborne into this.
Could you do a vid about bows and arrows, including the bound bow, and give a summary of damage and speed? Thanks for reading!
well clearly, yes. archery is awesome... especially the arrow conservation and faster draw...both of those are excellent.
Oh God how much do arrows cost??
They are cheap as chips. You're walking around with 100k with nothing left to spend it on, and you're delighted that your precious archery perk just saved you 18 gold on an arrow??!! 😂🤣
It's one of THE biggest wastes of perks, of which there really are too many.
Slow time shout and Auriels bow with sunhallowed arrows. Its like calling an airstrike when the time continues
"Hello, my names Fudgemuppet and watch me make a video about archery without even mentioning crossbows once" lol
Vanilla friendly video mate.
Though I know both creators at Fudgemuppet consider the DLC vanilla and I kind of agreed.
bruh, truth
Crossbows don't aim quite the same as normal bows, but they do get a 50% stagger rate by default (which STACKS with Power Shot).
Not in base game
@@PotentialAutist42069 Yeah but it's literally been impossible to buy Skyrim for years without the DLC now. Unless you buy the ps3 or 360 versions which would be a baffling choice to say the least.
the shot that paralyzes actually works on flying dragons, so before you get the dragonrend shout, it's actually semi useful.
Dude max Payne I have not heard that in so long that brings back so many memories
I have a character I perked with all kinds of skills, duel blading one handed weapons, heavy armor, destruction (I regret it, I never use it cause it sucks but I spent up to lvl 70 on them), restoration, and archery. So a really mixed playstyle. It's really cool being able to two and three shot mobs that can't reach you cause you're perched up high!
I personally like to put just 1 point in steady aim, just the right slow down
Two of these are even better with crossbows. The stagger effect stacks with the crossbow's normal 50% stagger for a 100% stagger chance. And the movement one allows you to move normally while reloading the crossbow, allowing you to retreat from the thing you just shot, or dodge a return shot from archers and wizards.
Block perks next would be much appreciated!
Do Block~! With an eye toward perks that are good for a 'pure block' playthru (yes, it can be done. Power Bash is actually pretty good)
I'd say that the perk that increases the fire rate of bows is really good, even if you are a stealth archer. Say, you are killing a guy in a room with other enemies, those enemies will start to run around the place and try to find you. Usually, though, they'd stand still for 1-2 seconds, because they have to equip their weapon and their AI needs to figure out wth is going on. In that room of time, you could be able to fire off an arrow, reducing the amount of enemies hunting you down... and also it feels good to watch that animation play faster
My favourite part of the paralysing shot perk is when you get the paralyze and the kill with the same arrow. Instead of ragdolling, they lock up and basically become a statue. It's eslecially funny with something big like a Lurker or a Giant.
oddly enough when i modded my skyrim i made it so that it was very difficult using wildcat vigor and resilient dragons and a few other mods playing on master so extra damage when ever i can get it it very helpful it saved my life many times
Critical hits are good for dealing a bit more damage and interrupting the enemy's attack.
With a Dragonbone bow (base damage 20), level 3 Critical Shot will do an extra 18.75 damage 20% of the time. This equates to an extra 3.75 damage per arrow irrespective of what the actual damage output of the bow actually is. In short, while the skill technically does something, it does very little to justify the perk points spent. Also, Critical Shot also does nothing to interrupt enemy attacks - Power Shot is the skill that causes enemy stagger.
LOL Meanwhile mages are like, "Why are we, masters of magic, completely unable to do these magic-like effects to improve OUR ranged combat?"
When talking about perks can you show the game perk tree and where the perk is, not that I don't know where it is , the video just becomes more engaging
Critical attacks cause even Dragons to "stagger"/ interrupts their breath attacks. Dunno if anyone mentioned this before, but it does make critical hits a tiny bit more useful.
I have 400 hours + on Skyrim and I've never seen that passage at 1:52, it has to be modded.
Cmon i cant be that blind, im gotta check it on my skyrim
Badgerino Swaggings i said the same thing when i watched lol
Zach well i dunno but whatever it is, its cool and i want that mod, name?
i have at least 520hours on skyrim
GamePlayer good for you
aye, it is
Are you using a mod that changes the "slow time" shout? When I use the shout the world turns blue around me, but it doesn't seem to do the same for you.
Yes he is using a mod to change it.
There's a perl called Trick Shot (chance to disarm enemies), can only be obtained via console commands.
I use archery all the time but I will admit I never use the slow time but I just prefer the realism of it so I never get that or zoom but I see why they are useful.
Also you can just enchant your bow with paralyze if you want to.
I did so it would give me more time and also I added frost damage.
Basically don't take the right side at all if you're using the bound bow.
Tyler, Page of Void then again who uses bound bow aside from maybe the first few levels. just hurl a fireball at them or summon an atronach
Brovahkiin who uses bound bow unless they're specifically building around it I think you mean-
Tyler, Page of Void there's a build around it? A vanilla one? because otherwise I wouldn't know how you could Improve its damage....
Brovahkiin enchanting and alchemy
Tyler, Page of Void but can't you just grab the cheapest bow you can find it, upgrade it and it's better?
i perked all archery perks the paralyze perk plus para enchantment are nice combo for stealthy shooting
Thanks for this! Can you remind me what is the build you use on the video?
what character build is playing there? is it one you have already done?
My paladin's seeking vengeance after some bitch-ass dragon killed Alvor and I couldn't kill him fast enough because I didn't have any proper skills with the bow and the dragon refused to land on anything except for roofs. Little do they know........
i used warhammer with heavy armor, it was great. gonna give this a try
Have you thought about doing a series like this on the Ordinator perks?
I think bullseye is helpful when killing larger enemies like giants and mammoths
I like the casual nature of this one, unscripted and more personal
You should do these, maybe more in-depth, for perk overhaul mods.
Steady Hand is essential for many players like me who play on console, as the joy pad is particularly useless for aiming any missile weapon compared to Mouse an keys.
What's the mod that gets rid of the blue hazzyness on slow time and what are the graphical mods there using in this video
Paralyzing is super useful for crowd control. It's also overkill on single targets which isn't a bad thing
Haha, this video felt nice and chill
I like using the paralyze perk for when I’m playing a pacifist role. I know that technically shoot them, but doing a bunch of damage and paralyzing it for 10 seconds can get you out of a bunch of situations and get you far enough away that they can’t follow you.
The zephyr is only 30 percent faster than other dwarven bow and auriels bow has the same draw speed
Strangely I actually don’t really like steady hand. I feel like the slow mo actually makes it harder to gauge how much to lead my target cuz I’m used to things traveling at normal speed.
I find these videos helpful, I just wish there was a list or outline of the parks worth taking.
Overdraw 5/5
Steady Hand 2/2
Eagle Eye
Power Shot
Quick Shot
Critical Shot 1/3
Hunter's Discipline
Ranger
Great vid
One thing I dont like is sometimes the paralysis effect makes your enemy fall and you can miss your shot
Maybe there might be a mod out there somewhere to fix the Critical Damage issue? Something to change the crit damage to your full damage instead of the base? If you could find that, suddenly all those perks in the other trees would be really good.
4:55 that's a nice flip
0:25 Max Payne approves...
Hunter's discipline is good if you don't have the dawnguard DLC, in vanilla anything besides steel arrows are hard to get in bulk, so anything that helps keep your arrow supply steady is pretty cool. Again though this is not an issue with dawnguard, since you can craft hundreds of arrows for dirt cheap, literal game changer for an archer
All but second "slow time" and last one (stun) are great.
Last one is the best
Personally, I really like Bullseye. It can make your already powerful archer even better. It is especially good when fighting multiple enemies because you can paralyze one enemy and then switch to another while they try to get up. With a 15% chance, you generally get it every 7 or 8 shots so you can handle quite a few enemies at one time. Also, it can make for some hilarious kills because if an enemy is paralyzed in the same shot that kills them they die frozen rather than ragdolling.
im that archer that uses the quick draw and stagger shot! pins a single target straight down
you guys need to make top ten videos like normal but over morrowind and oblivion.
also daggerfall.
in my experience power shot actually does stagger dragons I'm not sure about giants though
It hard not to put points in Archery such a good skill to have. I tend to only go up to Quick Shot and not dump anything into the right.
I legendaried archery just to erase the paralyze and slow time "perks." Both mess up my ability to hit the target. Paralyze makes the target fall over and hitting targets going down and getting up is buggy. The slow time/zoom perk makes me overshoot the target.
The best thing to do with a bow is enchant it with a 2 second soul trap and clear out Falmer caves for grand souls.
Main reason the paralysis results in missing is that it's an invisible spell you cast and the spell travels faster than the arrow, this is also why your alteration perks effective duration
My first play through i did a stealth-steed, but I didn't use a bow. Also I only smuggled in a dagger in the Thalmor Embassy party, no armor, no weapons, just an iron dagger. It was a pain in the ass
I messed up there too didn’t bring any thing
they are all worth it but maybe just get one of the zoom perk and slow time perk
Where is the DnD videos? I enjoy to watch those while I make dinner
Alex Hamilton I
Critical shot: Such a shame. You'd at least expect the smithing enhancements to apply to the critical multiplier since those (in theory) are affecting the direct physical damage from the bow. On the other hand, they'd have to reduce the enhancements from smithing to keep it from becoming ridiculously OP for a stealth archer (100% critical chance for sneak attack).
Of course! They are so Op
Ahh, the Morrowind OST in the background... Beautiful.
zephyr + quick shot + elemental fury shout=bullet hell
If only elemental fury worked with bows😞
@@peterdubinsky5389 everything im finding on the internet is conflicting. I'm reading that auriel and zephyr bow have same speed but also zeph is faster? Wiki says EF works with bows but not Xbows, but im assuming it just imbues the weapon with the enchantment but doesn't actually make it faster
Also how can op of this post talk about EF without talkin bout NV boosting it
I always got all of them except the extra ranks of crit.
Also bullseye is a very buggy perk whenever I got it I would shoot the arrow yet the enemy would go down before it got to them. They would just paralyze before an arrow hit them.
No matter what character build I’m on a topped out archery skill tree makes it possible for me to bully my way thru the game. Long range, short range, whatever....I take down everything. Plus sneak skill tree and maybe a potion or two I can one shot dragons.
