Today is day 8 for me of being vegan and I am thrilled with how much better I feel already and how much I am enjoying all the healthy foods I am eating. I made the change for health reasons, but I am also learning a lot about how horrible the conditions are for animals and how sick and ill they are all the time. It's disgusting. I don't want to be a part of that. I am excited about this new life style. Thank you for sharing your story. It was very encouraging.

+Jessica Azzola ^ Yes, yes! I started about 8 days ago too, it hasn't been hard for me at all. I eat every veggie, every new food item with an open mind. I've tried so many things this last week that I never thought I would ever enjoy and loved them all. I feel great physically, can't wait to see the wonderful health benefits in my future. :)

I just went vegan a little over a month ago due to health reasons. I'm 19, but I've been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease, and POTS, all of which were overly interfering with my life. I was so sick of trying medication after medication, and so I was looking into alternative therapies when I found veganism. I was first alerted to it through many different UA-camrs and celebrities I had heard of going vegan, but I never thought it would be right for me as I had already had to cut out gluten, and my family is totally in love with meat and dairy. I did so much research into the health aspects of veganism, and one night I cooked a vegan meal I found on pinterest. I just went about it one meal eat a time, and did the cold turkey approach, applying months of new found knowledge for cooking and educating my family. It wasn't until 2 weeks into my journey that I began to research more on animal cruelty, and it solidified my decision. I also went for a checkup, and saw the first stable blood pressure I had seen all year, it wasn't low, and it wasn't dropping at all. I also noticed a huge decrease in my nerve pain, joint pain, headaches, weakness, and seriously every other symptom I was suffering from. I feel like a completely different person, and I'm so so so happy. After knowing what I know about animals, and health, I don't think I could ever go back, nor would I want to. I have to agree with all of the changes you note here in this video, from the cooking, to your health, it's all so beneficial and positive, and I find with every new vegan I meet, and every vegan channel I find, vegans are some of the most positive people. I just hope someone can come across this video, or your 10 steps, and can see that too. If the topic comes up with family and friends I always love to explain the impact this diet has had on my life, and I encourage everyone to try it! It's sooooooo worth it!

I went vegan about 7 months ago after I watched Earthlings, and I was so traumatized by it and feeling so bad about all the animal cruelty that I didn't even care to stop eating animal products one at a time, I just went completely vegan from one day to another. It was probably the best thing I have ever done ♥

As a science teacher and a science nut, I'm very well aware of nutrition and the impact that food (good and bad) has on our body. I just got fed up with the bullshit "food" that is provided to us (and animals). We are lied to and I've had enough. I'm also crazy about animals and the idea of them having such a cruel, miserable life just for us to consume them doesn't set right with me. Anyway, I was vegetarian for 13 years with some seafood from time to time. Today I completed my 4th week being vegan. I have so much energy that I wanna rub it on everyone's face at work (mind you, everyone else is usually miserable looking, lmao). I wish people knew more and educated themselves about good, honest, nutritional diet. I don't have vegan friends, so honestly, you are my go to person for DAILY ideas.

I'm from a small country town where no one is vegan or even know what vegan is. I know I didn't till last yr. two months ago I decided to go vegan with no support at all from family or co workers. But I feel amazing and tell them all everyday how great it is and surprisingly easy. Though we only have Walmart and target I find all kinds of things to eat. I already see change in my skin and the way I feel. Plus helping the animals it's a win win. But it does suck to hear "your vegan you can't have this or that" but I can and its healthier and better haha

I have a bad reaction to dairy; it makes my stomach turn into knots and I would just sit in pain for honestly days. I took most dairy out of my diet and started to notice that meats gave me a very similar reaction so I cut down to mostly chicken. I always wanted to start a vegan diet but I was afraid of the judgement other have the vegan lifestyle and I was afraid to truly cut it ALL out and not be able to enjoy the things I love. When I met my boyfriend he was already vegan for 2 years so I started to experience more of his cooking and started to going to vegan restaurants. When we moved in together I had decided it was time to fully immerse myself into veganism. My skin has been so much clearer, my fatigue is gone, my headaches are gone, I’m never in pain anymore and I have never been so happy. Finding channels like yours that have recipes for foods I love and still miss has been a huge help in the journey. It’s nice to be able to have an online community to support you and to encourage you. I love this channel and love to keep learning easy steps to veganism💗

I went vegan after watching many videos including The dairy industry explained in 5 minutes. I showed it to my friend who was already going vegan. I couldn't make the transition right away, but I cut out dairy first because it would mess up my stomach. One day I just cut out all meat and eggs, and I realized it wasn't as hard as I thought. It's also great going on your channel and finding recipes for new foods to try. The biggest help is definitely having a friend to turn to and support you. We love going on your channel and finding new recipes to make. This month for my birthday I enjoyed pizza, enchiladas, AND CAKE.... ALLL VEGAN!!!!

This is so fun to watch and so relatable! I grew up in a muslim household where meat was in every meal and we barbecued and ate everything that was "halal". My sister was the first one to go vegan last year, she was 16 (6 years younger than me) and she kept telling me how bad meat was for my health etc etc. I was convinced, but I liked burgers too much to give them all up so I kept eating them. My family consists of only my mother, my sister and I, and because my sister did not eat meat we cut down on making meaty meals slowly until I wasn't having any at all, and made the connection between my happiness and the things I was consuming. Then I started watching videos and doing my own research and saw so much cruelty and torture that I cried for days. I am proud to say that I haven't consumed anything negative in one month and going strong. x

  • @Laura507

For me it was similar in that I never enjoyed the taste of meat growing up, though we did eat seafood once in a while. I first went vegan for taste (vegan food is much yummier!) and in search of recipes, then health and nutrition and finally, I couldn't keep ignoring the devastating truth of animal suffering, which is the main reason I can say right now that I've never gone back (nor will I) to eating animals. Your channel has helped me more than you know. Thanks for everything you do!

I have been Vegan for over a year now. I was a vegetarian for about 7 years when I was fresh out of college and read the book "Skinny Bitch". I was Vegan then for about 6 months but allowed societal pressures push me into being vegetarian. Last year when I realized that I was at my heaviest weight EVER something had to change and going Vegan was the answer. I have lost over 65 pounds and I feel fantastic! No regrets and never going back :-) Thanks for making your videos!

This is my 4th week as vegan after watching plant pure nation and realizing I have control over my health and thamy family's heart disease is not my destiny. I just found your channel last week. I've been binge watching today. I'm 37 and for over 8 years my skin was terrible, Since December I had stomach issues and massive migraines, and PMS was a nightmare for 4 years. The first week my skin started to clear up, the 2nd week I realized I hadn't had any headaches and my stomach issues were almost gone. The 3rd week my husband told me that my skin looked amazing. This past week zero PMS. It's almost too good for me to accept its actually happening. I have a channel and when I was editing my video from yesterday, I kept staring at my face in disbelief. I have some pitting from the years of skin problems but aside from that, it looks so good! I'm sorry to write a novel but no one outside of my hubby and kids know I've made a change and I am bursting to share. Glad I found your channel! 😊

This was so much fun to watch. I just became Vegan 5 months ago and I feel great about it. I loved hearing your take on it and have experienced a lot of what you talked about. Except, I started out on this wanting to lose weight...I have only lost a little...but I feel so much better that my eating habits now match my passion for humane treatment of animals. I am no longer conflicted. That only took 57 years to attain but it is so gratifying!

Hi! Thank you so much for your videos :) I shifted to a vegan diet recently, I was going through changes, after a spiritual awakening, and last year I started to reject animal food, if I had eggs in the morning I would want to through up, or to make an effort to not be repulsed by food. Also in my country, dairy milk is hard to find now, and I was told that dairy was a reason for my allergies, so I was looking for coffee cream alternatives and homemade cream and thats how I found this channel and I was amazed by it and so greatful! Then I found out that animal pain, suffering and torture is transfered to our DNA, and that when your vibration changes its a normal thing to reject lower vibrational food. So it wasn't for me a difficult thing to do, my body wanted it naturally, and I've been gradually leaving animal food, looking for alternatives, and looking for delicious vegan food, and I its really fun, now I left animal completely, I dont know how it will go, but I feel so great, the changes are so good, emotionally, mentally and physically too. So hopefully all will be good. I also watched a movie called Cowspiracy that helps us be more conscious about how dairy and meat is a big contribution to the planet destruction. Another thing is that i was thinking, how can I eat a chicken if i am not able or if I wouldn't kill it. So it looks pretty awesome when it is in a hamburger or in a fancy plate at a restaurant, but thinking about where it comes from makes me change my mind and desire. I think we should appreciate food, even if it was animal food but if its not needed we not to choose better.

Thanks for sharing your story. I just started transitioning to vegan recently due to my health. From high blood pressure to celiac disease to high cholesterol and bad digestive issues, I've been trying to figure out a way to push myself towards better health and well being. Even when forced to go gluten free, I still wasn't feeling great or energetic. A few weeks after starting vegan eating, I have found improvements in my energy levels, some weight loss, and a newfound love for veggies I never thought I'd had. Also, it's not as difficult as I thought to be vegan and is actually cheaper!

I went vegan for health reasons first, but then when I saw a few documentaries about how animals are slaughtered and how they're kept I knew that I could not go back to eating meat or meat products. It's the best decision I've made in my life. I feel great now we're as I used to feel sluggish and tired now I'm energized and happy most of the time. I enjoy experimenting and finding new ways to enjoy foods that I never thought I would enjoy. Keep the videos coming I love them, they helped me so much.

I have been vegan for 3 years and I'm so glad I turned my lifestyle around.. I also started out because of health but when I found out the torture and cruelty farm animals have to go thru, I couldn't be part of that anymore. Then when I learned about the impact of animal farming to the environment, well that did it to my hubby.. I agree with you about using up all the goods that I've already bought that come from animals or that were probably tested on animals... some I have given away and others I'm keeping until the end... The problem now is how far do we have to go to be vegans.. Seems that reading labels is not enough.. It's like we have to take it one step beyond that and research if the ingredient is sustainable and where did it come from, etc.. It can be exhausting especially for people that are interested in transitioning..

I went vegan 1 year ago because my best friend (who at the time was vegetarian) came over to my house one day after being in tears for hours after watching videos on the animal cruelty behind those industries. I went from being a complete meat eater to vegan in like 3 minutes I didn't even watch the videos first. I was convinced after my friend explain what she saw in the videos and the health benefits that you gain and it all made sense. I've always had great compassion for animals even the smallest like ants and bugs and I finally feel like I'm doing something good for me and the environment. P.s I love your videos!!! I have a memory as a kid crying while being forced to eat veal and it stuck with me. From there on I always felt guilty every meal I had with animal products because I felt like I was hurting something. I'm so grateful for all of the information out there about animal cruelty because it made the transition so much easier. Being vegan is so positive and makes me happy. :)

My story is I am a philosophy major right now in college, and I met a vegan girl that is also a philosophy major. I am mostly interested in ethics and I agreed with her with all the anti-speciesist arguments proposed, but I guess continue to be hypocritical and kept eating meat and stuff. Now, after a while, I am cooking for myself and decided to try it out, after watching various documentaries. I like bodybuilding very much so it was difficult to imagine a life with less than 150gr of protein a day. I was able to find substitutes like gluten, but it's still difficult to let go of my whey and casein :( my vital gluten just arrived today and I will be making my first fake meat thingy today :D hope it works out. Great videos! Recipes are the best!

i first gave up meat products for my health.i have ulcerative colitis. so red meat actually irradiated my stomach. i recently watched Earthlings....it pretty much broke my heart as to what animals have to go through for 5 minutes of pleasure. i finally went full on vegan. i started browsing youtube for vegan ideas and came across your channel.:)

I can't get over how inspiring and funny you are! I feel like if we met we would be best friends!! Like, I even think our boyfriends would get along.... Lol.
Anyway... When I first went vegan, about 1,5 month ago, I worked as a cook in a kitchen that didn't serve vegan food. To my advantage, we were a tiny kitchen team of just my head chef and myself and he was very supportive (even tho he kinda thought I was crazy.......). He would even cook vegan food for the entire staff simply because I was vegan (even tho I told him I could make my own food! Such an amazing person!). And guess what? Every single staff member would enjoy it.
Anyway... what I noticed, and what I want to share, is that even tho I worked in kitchens for about two years before I went vegan I never been as inspired as I've been since I made the transition. I remember telling my old boss that after going vegan I felt so much more inspired and confident in my cooking. Cutting our animal products actually gives you MORE room to play around... Animal products can be so fragile and it's so easy to ruin a dish that contains animal products, where as plant based foods gives you more freedom. (Unless it's green veggies......don't kill those green veggies. Don't make them grey. Please. Lol.)
Ok. This is turning into a rant.
Lastly I want to say THANK YOU for all your inspiration and keep up the good work!
    Love from Sweden 🇸🇪

So a skin problem is what made you do the switch, mmk. Well, as for me, i went vegan around 2 months ago now. I had been cutting meat out of my life for the most part, except for the occasional chicken wing cravings. I was feeling guilty i was doing something wrong. Eventually, i started looking into this, doing my research and that's when i uncovered information that motivated me to cut out not only meat but dairy as well! I am slowly learning more and more about the things i can eat as a vegan and getting better at cooking good meals.

for my case, I went cold turkey in my transition to veganism, it was a little shaky at first but I soon adapted quickly to it, and I've lost 20 lbs over 3 weeks, which was great! it's already been a month and 2 weeks since I went vegan, I'm going strong, time to time I get major meat cravings but I know it's bad so I try with all my strength to swerve away from it and consume healthy foods like fruits and veggies and black bean burgers.

I never liked pork or beef, and tried and failed to cut out chicken before becoming a successful vegetarian a couple years ago from seeing too many undercover horrific videos at farms/slaughter houses online. It was hard, especially never even meeting an actual vegetarian before, but I wanted to make a difference. I knew that I love animals too much to eat them/contribute to their torture. I always considered veganism to be too stressful & difficult for me to accomplish, and I literally NEVER thought I'd be one. But a few months ago after watching some of your cooking videos, as well as Kalel's reasons to go vegan video, I decided to give it a try. It was extremely stressful at first, considering we live in a world where non-cruelty free products and consuming dairy is the norm. Researching and finding options that are vegan-friendly was tough, but I eventually found several holy grail vegan products/foods. I'm still learning, and it's still a challenge, and it still takes a heck of a lot of will-power. However, the challenge brings sense of accomplishment afterwards, so I actually enjoy the challenge and adventure at the grocery store now. Also, just thinking of what those poor animals go through is enough for me to never turn back to just a vegetarian. I've never felt healthier and happier in my life. My hair is shinier, it grows faster, I never get sensitive stomach issues anymore, better skin... And I've recently been getting really passionate about the environmental/health aspects of it. You can't beat all the benefits of being vegan! Best decision I've ever made! :) Thanks Edgy Veg!

I love, love your videos and attitude towards life and what you eat ! I've been jumping in and out of veganisum for the past year and now it's really stuck. Your right, once you know what your eating ( the cruelty and suffering) you really can't go back.
Also just wondering , I have a chronic condition called M.E/ CFS and I originally went dairy free to help with my fatigue and pain. I think it really has helped , I would love to know if anyone else here has gone vegan for similar reasons ? And how's it going? Would be great to know other people's take on it .

I really like your adventure aspect. Sometimes it's frustrating figuring out if something is Vegan, but yeah, I aslo enjoy hunting the grocery store for new Vegan products. Just today, I was stoked to find Vegan perogies! I have coconut bacon and Vegan sour cream and can't wait to have something from my past that I used to love.
I have been Vegan almost 4 years. One random day i told my Vegan co-worker that I was going Vegan the next day......and i have been Vegan since then. Will never go back.

Hi!! Love your vegan story. I had chron's disease for fourteen years, ugh!! My life was a living nightmare. I was in so much pain I wanted to die, yes, really!
After my second child was born I became continually worse and almost got my wish to die. While I was recovering in the hospital after having a large section of colon removed ( a month and a half) I had a lot of time to research on diet, nutrition and what would be more beneficial to eat. I started learning about our "sad" American diet and how it is literally killing people, I was one it almost took. So, in the hospital I vowed to educate myself and vowed to share my story and share a different lifestyle of eating.
    So, that's my beautiful story!!😘
    Thanks for being an inspiration!!

I decided to become vegan in January, similar reasons I'm super health conscious and i had acne - which was cured 2 weeks into cutting out animal products, amazing. I never buy any animal products but sometimes I'll eat the baked goodies my parents bought when i'm on my period and craving them, I'm feeling really guilty about it and I know I should stop - I'm hoping when I move out it's easier - I know it's a process and I'm doing the best I can and i'm only getting better at it but I felt like I needed to get that off my chest!

I began my vegan journey on January 1 of this year. I slowly started cutting out meat, seafood, dairy, etc. I had always wanted to go vegan and have been vegetarian in the past, but the real push came when I got salmonella in Thailand and I was just like... OK, NEVER AGAIN. Then, of course, I watched all the movies and got into vegan UA-cam and just felt like shit about the fact that I loved animals yet ate them. I love to cook and cooking vegan, as you said, is FULL of opportunity and adventure. When people call my diet limiting, I'm like "LOL YOU HAVE TO SEASON THE FUCK OUT OF YOUR CHICKEN TO MAKE IT EDIBLE, AND YOU THINK MY FOOD IS LIMITING?" Anyways, you're my fave because you bring humour and personality to a dire situation and I love it. My friend met you in Toronto and we die every day over that LOL.

I went vegan over 20 years ago and it's been the best thing for my health. I was very very sick as a child. In and out of the hospital/ER with severe asthma. At the age of 12 I read a book (can't remember the name) on the relationship between diet and disease and after finishing that book I went 100% vegan. Within a month I was asthma free. All disease is related to diet and lifestyle. All. Haven't had an asthma attack since. And then there's the beauty of not supporting animal cruelty. Everybody wins. Yay, vegans!! :)

My husband said one day about 5 months ago.... I think we should stop eating as much meat. I just happened to be near a book store later that day and picked up two vegan cookbooks because I learned to cook the step 1. Choose animal protein. Step 2. Choose starch. Step 3 choose something green. I loved the vegan recipes so started watching lots of UA-cam vegan folks for more recipes. Well one thing lead to another and I eat vegan now. And my husband does most of the time. Haven’t transitioned other parts of my life yet. That will come later. Agree with all your benefits!

      @BBHubbs 8 років тому

Stephanie Basora Hi, Stephanie! I have found that preparing meals in advance is the perfect solution. If you think about it, everyone who cooks has probably 10 go to recipes that are favourites or tic all the tastebuds pleasure boxes. Perhaps take some time to find replacements of those full meals and also snacks and treats. I make a weekly menu on Friday nights, do the shopping on Saturdays and meal preps on Sundays. By the way, my husband is a complete carnivore and our teenage girls are dabbling in my vegan meals, sweets and snacks. Meal planning has been a life saver when it comes to having to prepare different meals and wash all those dishes! Ugh!
Also, when we have those unexpected guests or unplanned busier days, it's wonderful to simply reach into the fridge for some ratatouille, vegan bolognaise, chili or a scrummy curry/dahl. (This is making me very hungry!)
Success is in the planning! There's nothing you can't accomplish!
