How to Boulder Safely at Climb Fit

  • To ensure you have a safe session when you hit the bouldering wall, be sure to watch this quick video. This information is pretty standard across any bouldering facility you may visit - but always check with the staff at your local gym before you start.
    If you're a complete beginner you may even like to join a beginner clinic.
    1. Remove items from pockets, remove your harness and ensure you have climbing shoes on.
    2. Keep the mat clear of debris and people. Wait off the mat until it's your turn.
    3. Check your route - ensure no other climber is going to cross your path. Look for the start and end holds.
    4. Only climb as high as you are comfortable. We suggest starting low and building up. Use the green down climbing jugs to help you get down when you're finished.
    5. When you land, try Feet, bum then back. Keep your arms in nice and close to your body.
    6. If you're cheering or filming your mate, please stand off the mat.
