I would never even think about bringing my own jewelry, simply because I feel like it’s bad etiquette AND the piercer knows what size jewelry and type you need more than you do.

There are situations where maybe the client wants a special jewelry that the piercer doesn't stock. I would say that 99% of the time I reject the jewelry people bring in because of the quality or not having a clue what material it is made of.

I love how much experience you have, like, you could do this in your sleep: "Hi I'm ready for a piercing." "Don't worry I'm sleep walking right now and it will turn out perfect."

Some days I wish i could them in my sleep. Anatomy can be so vastly different from person to person that it can be a real challenge.

Do you have any tips for buying quality jewelry (ie, ordering a custom threadless top from Anatometal or similar) for a healed out piercing and taking it in for a jewelry change?

Either rent and overhead is really cheap, the market is over really completive or they are just low grade jewelry.

Yes the NOFX. They still seem to fill seats every time they play out. The last time I saw them it was a healthy mix of everything from teens to grandparents. Plus they keep putting out new records.

It's not easy to forget Fat Mike & we haven't all forgotten those great bands. Pretty much every shirt he wears is a classic.

Hi!!! question- someone with a chronic illness that requires mri and other scans often, can glass jewelry be used for a piercing? Obviously I would order where my piercer would recommend but is that possible? I know there is bioflex but I am very sensitive to plastics and metals and found for my stretched lobes that glass the only thing that works for me and does not cause any reactions.
I’m interested in nasal, septum and industrial piercings.

It isn't idea but you can be pierced with glass. The biggest issues are inserting the jewelry and the glass jewelry not being as secure.

My piercer wont put used jewelry in his statum and risk contaminating it.

Well he could cold sterilize it in a hard surface cleaner, then clean it by hand and put it in his ultrasound. In other words, treat it like all of their tools or at least should be.
The reality is that it is near impossible to contaminate an autoclave. The process is designed to sterilize contaminated equipment and materials. As long as it is maintained and operated correctly, the risk is extremely low. Most of the decontamination we do is to limit our own exposure and reduce the risks.
Personally I feel it's an easy way to sell more jewelry and do less work.

Hey, I recently got a tongue peircing and i think im doing something wrong . Yesterday, I had a bump and it went away after drinking a ton of water. Today (day5), this morning, i ate applesauce, ice cream and two soft cookies. I used mouthwash like 4 times today, but i have like this yellow whitish pus coming out under my tounge. My piercer won’t answer the phone and barely gave me aftercare instructions. So I don’t know what to do. I forgot to mention but i use listerine alcohol free

Sorry for the long message but I also feel mucus in the back of my throat. I have the antibiotic cephalexin from a mouth cyst a year ago but i dont know if I should use it or not. Please help me

That yellow stuff is normal discharge. It can't harden in your mouth. So it forms often in long strings.

I really don't think it is an infection. Give it time if it doesn't improve see your piercer.

@@MAYA-rp8csI'm not a dr or a piercer but have over 20 as does my missus who seems to have a lot of trouble healing despite being OCD with her aftercare. OF COURSE I WOULD LISTEN TO DAVO but if yr still having problems after seeing yr piercer our dr always gives a script of cephalexin "just to make sure" Doesn't cost in Oz so nothing in it for her but "better safe than sorry" & "can't hurt" Also U shouldn't have left overs as taking a full course works best. Hope all goes well 😊

Hey just an FYI, labret is a Native American word specifically from the Tlingit tribe that still reside in the upper Pacific Northwest, it is not a French word. It is not "Labray", The "T" in Labret is pronounced.

    • @BodyPiercingTattooing
      @BodyPiercingTattooing  3 роки тому +1

I had heard that and that it was the transaction into English or French that caused the confusion. Research the history and you'll come up with a number of different histories of the origin of the name.
Either way I was taught that the pronouncement is labray. I've been using it since the early 90s and will continue too.

@@BodyPiercingTattooing So basically what you are saying is that you know the piercing called a labret piercing that originated with a First Nations tribe, you know that the jewelry is called a labret. You have heard the way the word labret should be pronounced, but you are an old white dude that refuses to change when presented with origins of your trade. Sounds pretty ignorant to me, and borderline racist.
