August 2024: I've been with Boost for almost a year on their $10/month unlimited text/calls, 2G data, and they offered me an upgrade to the Moto Edge+ 2023 for $199.99. I ordered it that day. Their current policy is that the phone will be automatically unlocked 1 year after activation. (Note: When I check my upgrade offers today, the price is $599.99. I can't explain it.) I agree with most of the review. I bought the Motorola brand case, needing something less slippery than the phone itself, and a Supersheildz TPU screen protector. The case is fairly thin, which is what I wanted: I hate that phones and armored cases are so big, and not pocket-friendly. One other con: Without the case, I have to wrap my fingers around the slippery phone and I inadvertently tap the app icons on the curved screen and open them. The case resolves that issue. I decided to try this flagship out and its literally unmatched. I paid $499. How this phone went widely unknown just goes to show how big tech lies and inflates pricing. No flagship is worrh a thousand dollars or more. This phone has enhanced flagship specs. Ive done a couple UA-cam videos on it. Just the 340hrtz touch response sampling rate alone makes this phone fly and the user experience is far beyond any flagshhp even right now late 2024. There is no better flagship that comes close to offering.what this one does and has the incredible quality of build with specs like this. None. All for only $499. Thats why its my daily driver.
I got mine thru project genesis 5G and I really love how the battery last you all day. It charge very fast, if you use the charger that came with it. You can increase the ram up to 10 GB thru settings and I got no problem with storage because all my photos are backed up on Google photos which it is not free but $1.99 per month yk. It does has the Dolby Atmos feature where you can increase the volume etc etc but like if you use it as a speaker, it's loud. The camera is alright but I really like the portrait mode also the video when recording is also alright too.
I'm about halfway through your video. You talked about the charging and the fast charger comes with but you never mentioned the wireless charging it also does according to the Motorola website

Planning on getting this phone tomorrow open box from best buy. I'm big time impressed. I do have a question if you don't mind. You mentioned thr 165hrtz refresh rate isn't really supported by hardly any of the apps. In developer settings cab you go in and manually override ththe refresh rate to be constant instead of a variable adptive type? Some of the Android phones will have a manual forced refresh tate in delrvoper options that will force the device to remain at its peak refresh tate all the time. Hoping this to possibly be the case. Second question it leads me to is at what refresh rate does it function at if you vsnt manually override and force 165hrtz refresh rate? Does it revert back to 90 and 120hrtz respectively or does it revert back to the awful 60hrtzs refresh rate when 165 isn't supported? I'm trading in a iPhone 13 towards this incredible device. How has the 8gs of RAM been and have you had aby issues with it not being able to carry a heavy load of open windows the background or have you noticed that the open windows are being refreshed when you go back to them after however long due to it not having 12gs of RAM? I appreciate your help and knowledge. I do plan on getting this device on Saturday afternoon. If you happen to see this and have time or a minute to let me know I would greatly appreciate it! Great review!
A bit late here, but I have the Edge+ 2022 and it runs consistently at 144hz. You can actually go into dev settings and enable "display refresh rate." It'll put a little green number in the corner of your screen displaying the constant refresh rate and in the regular phone settings, there's an option to lock phone to 144hz (instead of the automatic setting of 120hz). And since the phone never dips below 144hz no matter what app I'm using, I'm pretty sure everything is optimized to run at maximum 144hz on the Edge+ 2023 as well. There is some system UI compatibility for 165hz I'm sure, but there's not many apps optimized to that level just yet.
was gonna get it but then realizing that wrong move cause screen mirroring might be dumb again like my motorola one action screen mirror doesn't work! SO i got the S23 instead

Hey guys. Does this allow Wireless Charging and Google Wallet "Tap"? Where you can buy something from your phone with a tap of it on the card reader machine?
Just got this last week and love it! However, when I watch UA-cam, the play button and 10 seconds forward and back will not clear unless I hit the x in the corner. If I touch the screen for any reason, again I have to hit the x to clear it. Anyone know how to fix this, or is this a thing?
I hate having a thick phone case. Is this the typical sturdy default Motorola case? They have always had good base cases. My Samsung cracks when I look at it funny.

It's a huge battery for a 6.7inch screen. And with the fast processor and the higher refresh rate options, I'm not surprised it runs hotter. I don't imagine it's not optimized to be hotter, though.
This is probably the best bang for buck phone if you want flagship specs. It has a gen 2 cpu, good camera, good battery life. It's going for $400 used. The phone reminds me of LG phone a few years back - high end specs for a cheap price. Motorola is a lesser known brand for phones.
Good memory about the LG phones, but I'm not sure why you think Motorola is lesser known? It's been around forever. Everybody knows what Motorola is. It might not be as popularly USED as an iPhone/Samsung, but it's a well known brand. I think I had a Droid Turbo 2 and I've got the Edge+ 2022 now. I've always had Samsung otherwise. But I've always known of Motorola, even going back 15+ years with their old Razr flip phones & house phones.

@@ForrestLambert.2022 I'd say that this beats the iPhone in just about every way...
The only area where this may be considered "weak" would be the cameras...and of course not having iMessage or FaceTime, but other than that...I am beyond happy with this phone. I love it so much.
@@GaymingAndStuff How does it compare to the Galaxy S series?
can you talk more about how the camera is interesting?
@@lindathompson8999 They're not bad...but they aren't good, either.
The pictures are beautiful, but they pale in comparison to a Samsung or Apple flagship.
can you do a video on undoing updates on revvl 6? I just got an update that I HATE because it messes with the keyboard's hight then on landscape, so I want to go back from version 13 to version 12
As for update. Security patch as on time. Having this phone for 2 months... as promised.
Base 512 Storage😮! Not even samsung and iPhone phones come base 512 this is a shocker..
Those two like to charge like 200 bucks for every 128 gigs… it sucks cause an SD card of that size is like 20 bucks… in my opinion it’s pretty abusive… but people still pay the ridiculous prices
Its the ONLY storage, though. there is no SD card expanding.
As good as the 2020 edge plus though? considering rebuying the 2020 or maybe this instead, broke my screen :(
Just ordered mine yesterday and getting it next week. Been using a Samsung s20 fe for a few years now and look forward to using my first Motorola smartphone.
😲🤳
Where did you get that wallpaper? Love it!!
Honest opinion, currently on an s22, after the 3rd loud speaker blowing out(and out of warranty) and trading in my 21+ because it had an earpiece failure. Thinking about replacing the s22 with one of these. Thoughts? Looks like a killer phone.
You should get it. Also, Boost Mobile has the phone for $400!!!
Looks like a better phone than an s22. Might buy this phone today. Lmao.
@@Greenfrom3 ended up picking up a mint open box one from Best buy for 550usd. Love it.
Samsung might have given you a better trade in deal (go in person) for the S22. Getting this phone coming from samsung's 'S' series is a downgrade
@@BrianRamotar_1776 it really hasn't been, screen is great, battery life and charging has been killer, and the speakers don't constantly blow out. The cameras are slightly less good at taking pictures, but not bad by any means, and the curved edge is slightly annoying. Otherwise I've been very happy with it.
Can you do dual bluetooth devices like samsing? for instance samsung allows the pairing of two bluetooth speakers and will play audio out of both of them at the same time like a Left and right speaker setup.
Just bought an open box excellent condition one from Best Buy unlocked for only $440! Looking forward to replacing my slow and glitchy and camera pics sometimes not showing up after I take them Moto One Action!
Sounds like a really good phone I'm very impressed with the storage and a few comments said the video camera quality is in high definition sounds pretty good thank you for your review my friend
NEC? Can I use Google pay?
Mine keeps lagging a lot shutting off and no service time time to time idk if I like it anymore
Might have to finally upgrade from my A52 5G.
I'm about halfway through your video. You talked about the charging and the fast charger comes with but you never mentioned the wireless charging it also does according to the Motorola website
How do you like the video camera quality on this phone my friend I think the storage is very impressive and it looks like a pretty good phone
Love this phone,I'm trying to get back the original clock that you have ,can't find it in widget s ?
Motorola edge 2023 went on sale and Motorola edge plus I got my Motorola 2022 edge for 340 Canadian amazing price and amazing phone
I'm waiting on edge plus to be 500 I'm definitely buying it the edge 2023 is on sale 499 Canadian
Honestly motorola is giving you phones with tons of features for less then half price of other phones with same features or more
I also love the software on Motorola fully customisable making icons smaller and screen without downloading 3d party apps
Honestly I'm sticking to Motorola for long time their phones going on sale for so cheap unbelievable price
Im looking for a new phone.. My question does it support game called sky children of the light.. Xiaomi 13 pro was a mess with this game
Probably does 8gb ram with snap dragon 2 and adreno 740 so google anything with that chipper of the can this can
Planning on getting this phone tomorrow open box from best buy.
Same here with my moto one is not connecting.
@@baladanladiabraham6734 you can get samsung is easier
How about the sound?
How about the volume?
Very valuable video bro. Edge+ @$500 vs Samsung A55 @ $400? Or I should say what’s the best phone in September 2023 under $500. Thanks
The European version of Moto Edge +has SSD support system installed...
I have a moto stylus 5g 2023. I keep phones for a long time. Should i switch to this phone? I watch a TON of netflix on my phone and im rly having FOMO with not having an OLED
Yes your get faster low up speed for watching movie and youtube. I say 25% faster then that budget moto stylus.
Your going to see alot more black ratio deeper black better then that boring moto stylus.
Hey guys. Does this allow Wireless Charging and Google Wallet "Tap"? Where you can buy something from your phone with a tap of it on the card reader machine?
Yes its wireless charge but not google wallet.
thank you sir. i was looking to buy a new phone and i love how you got straight to the point no over explanation and sold me on it.
Just got this last week and love it! However, when I watch UA-cam, the play button and 10 seconds forward and back will not clear unless I hit the x in the corner. If I touch the screen for any reason, again I have to hit the x to clear it. Anyone know how to fix this, or is this a thing?
Great video and i got the phone! How did you get that wallpaper?
I use Zedge
I hate having a thick phone case. Is this the typical sturdy default Motorola case? They have always had good base cases. My Samsung cracks when I look at it funny.
Samsung chooses to make them this way, older models were so durable and fully waterproof.
I got the Motorola Edge 2022 and I'm still on android 12
me too. typing in it now
FYI that the 165 refresh rate has to be selected manually and chows your battery. Auto is default and runs at 120 so no real issue/con there.
At 165hz mine still lasts 2.5 days
@@Jst4vdeos OK. But then clearly you are not using it too much to get that battery life. I am talking about running LOTS of videos at that rate.
@@c.a.nixiii4650 8 or 9 hours SOT, the point is this device you don't ever think about the battery. It can charge back up in like 7 min and it lasts for days
@@Jst4vdeosBUT like super chargers on Tesla cars you really should not use that "super charger" on a regular basis. Only when you are low and need a quick charge. IMO you will wear out the battery much faster than a normal slower charger by your bed at night. Some heavy Tesla owners that used it for Uber wore their battery out in one year from non stop super charging daily. The analogy works. Cheers!
@@c.a.nixiii4650 true but a fast jump from 20-80 every 2 days shouldn't hurt it too bad
Can I ox cord out of the Motorola edge 2023 through the USB c port?
Overall good..but don't like the curved display 👎
Same😁🤗😎🤙
okay.........
Is this phone Volte certified? Thanks Mate ☺👍
If it has 5G it should have VoLTE (sorry for the late reply)
Had mine for about a week. I got it open box from Best Buy for 500 bucks. It's solid but has some bugs. The Auto- Rotate is slow, some of the short cuts don't always work and yesterday the operating system just stopped working after overnight charge. The display is beautiful, it's fast and has tons of storage. Overall happy so far but had I spent full price I'd be pissed.
Unfortunately You overpaid for that phone if you looked around online you could find the phone around 300 USD factory unlocked. The Motorola edge is not worth 500 USD nor the plus version. the software does have issues since edge was first released.
@@Alejandra-cv7rj looked around online where? The only places I found it cheaper were places like Boost Mobile. I wasn't signing up with them.
No issues for me 2 weeks in. This phone is worth more than an iPhone any day.
would love to see them make a model with a stylus to get a better stylus competitor for the Ultra. Love the 200 dollar 4G Moto G Stylus and what is offers for the price though.
Could you make a detailed video on Moto Edge 2023 which powered by a Dimensity chipset?
Hi Techright do you have discord channel
No, i believe i closed it a while back
This video doesn’t do justice for the look and especially feel of this phone. The frosted matte black back glass is so beautiful and has a perfect feel.
Just bought mine yesterday, waiting for delivery. Have been using Samsung for the past decade but their latest standard versions (S22/S23) only seem to get worse unless you buy the ultra. Plus the ultra is just too damn big in the hand, and heavy. The Edge+ 23 checks all my boxes.
How you liking it?
It's a fantastic phone. One small gripe I have is the back is super slipppery. I don't like to use a case so that's really my only complaint. @@Greenfrom3
I kind of regret passing up on this phone last year instead I got the Motorola think phone because it had the flat screen very similar device. So without regrets this year 2024 I picked up the Moto edge 2024 with the Snapdragon 7s gen2 chipset. But it's nothing like the beast the Moto edge Plus 2023🎉
Just got mine today through boost for199.99 for phone 341$ total that with 60$ plan and taxes and activation fee thats with a new number. but if your port your number over its 99.99 plus plan and taxes and activation fee probably be $230ish
Been wanting to get a 2nd hand pixel 6pro according to my budget and general preferences but this fone has been giving me those looks 😉😉 these last few weeks and im beginning to think... why not😊 .. will update in a few months... great review man.
Seems alright. Again that lack of headphone jack across what seems nearly every newish phone. I'm just p.o.'d !!!!! At least Moto Edge has a heck of a lot of storage + the expandable card slot storage.
I got mine for $399. a couple months ago. I'm really not sure how to turn it on and off. I haven't turned it on and off very much maybe once a month by then I forget
Hold the lock button? Pretty standard practice for phones.
Great job the information is great, thank you.
Available in PAKISTAN or not?
You didnt mention how the audio compared
Just got this phone and it seems to get pretty warm...have any of you experienced this issue, is this normal?
But I've always known of Motorola, even going back 15+ years with their old Razr flip phones & house phones.
thanks for sharing the content on the 23 Edge. I'm currently using a OnePlus 11 and have been with OnePlus since the 5 but ready to make a move. Does anyone have feedback on the RAM of this current phone? The OnePlus im using is 256/16gb and wondering if i will notice the difference in RAM (half the RAM). Thanks for any info yall might have.
That would be a huge downgrade.
Why would u want to switch from the Oneplus 11? 🤔
You won't really notice any difference. I had a OP11 with 16gb and have used multiple phones with 8gb and never had any issue. Also, with 512gb enable RAM Plus and allocate 8GB of storage to ram, yeah its not ad fast but you won't notice it
Will metro by T-Mobile will have this phone any time soon?
199.00 right now
Not the moto edge+ , only boost has it
How to get this wallpaper?
im not sure
There is no real always on displey option?

I gotta say this is my device of the year for even 2024 this is the underground king in the phone with flagship specs. The nobody hardly gave credit for except a handful of you guys you know who you are that reviewed this phone. Even for the price right now you're getting is a exceptional phone if you take the bias from you gotta get a galaxy ultra, a pro max pro iPhone, or pro pixel pixel Xl. The price.
Keeps fluctuating in places. I've seen it for sale, it fluctuaes down to 449. Then I seen Amazon. Put it back up to light 560. Since it's been out for a year, I think the 449 to 469 is where they need to keep it. But if you want a phone outside of samsung google apple , this is the one
Does it have wireless charging
Yes its 100% wireless charge
This or 13t pro?

Boost mobile have the moto edge plus for 399.
Unfortunately boost mobiles range isn't very good. But one heck of an offer indeed. I might bite

Can select 4gLTE, 3G, set at 5G only. No expandable memory and just going up to 512GB. No FM radio, no 3.5mm jack. No, thanks.
Are there any funny little surprises such as uncleanable data like in XIAOMI phones?
I hate XIAOMI for having that uncleanable cache, I need my stuff clean
Am I the only one who miss the days before Google decide to make their own phones when Motorola phones would always receive the next version of Android and was almost always the first Android phones to receive the next Android update.
Is this model being released in Europe anytime soon??? Although we have the Edge 40 Pro which is very very similar but with a slightly weaker battery.
Tha bi-monthly security patches are big for me, very important.
Is anyone using this phone with AT&T? My last phone Motorola Zoom One was dropped by AT&T like a brick.
What phone in 2023 has a headphone jack?
Everyone says the fingerprint reader is slow but in my opinion its just as snappy as my S24 Ultra
Would be awesome without a curved display
What did you mean by, apps not supporting high hz
Most apps don't support past 120 hz so the refresh rate is downgraded on those apps to highest possible refresh rate it can support.
Great phone, but doesn't connect to Android Auto. Real bummer.
