Switched from an iphone 14 pro max and I absolutely love this phone. My buddies still give me crap about not being a blue bubble, but that's neither here nor there. Great phone!
Screw the blue bubble - everyone a slave
how do you find the camera compared to the iphone?
I switched from iPhone 13 pro max and this phone is better in every way so far. Everyone says the cameras aren't great but the pics it takes are the best I have ever seen on a phone! 🤔
@@rmrcricket6843Hello, just curious what made you you switch to the Motorola?
@@briankirkvold3339 The spec of the edge+ 2023 are the best for the money. Since I have switched I can confirm the reception of the Motorola is better than iPhone. I have service when my iPhone family and friends don't on the same provider
Man this phone has been living in my head rent free this past week
Same I have an Inferior moto stylus 5g 2023 the 24 came out is has a better screen more ram and same chipset snapdragon 6 gen 1 I want either the moto stylus 24 $40 or the 23 Motorola edge plus $200
Where u ask boost mobile
@@ESKJR exactly what im thinking too
I got mine for under 300 thru boost. Amazing phone. Only concerning part is the lack software update support from Motorola. Lets hope they do a better job with that.
It said it was going to receive 3 years of software updates and 4years of security
When you bought it through boost, did you have to keep it on their network for at least a year?
How you get it so cheap if the promotion is $400 right now 👀
You are eligible for an upgrade after 9 months if you're an existing customer thru boost mobile.
Its now $150
Edit: last years model is $150 not this years model mb
I just purchased mine just a week ago. I've always been a Oneplus fan since 3T, and this phone just blew me away. People are so into brands that they don't look into other phones. I took the risk because Motorola had been dealing with cell phone since day one and they're still around. I thought to give it a shot and I can say this is sticking with me. Awesome review and keep up the good work. 👏👏👏👏👍
Nice to hear it is working out well for you :)
I have owned the OnePlus 1, 3T, 6T, 9 and I just recently switched to the Nokia XR21 due to its usage Android One (absolute stock android with monthly updates) and their battery which they say maintains >80% capacity after 700 charging cycles.
Motorola Edge was a close second for me. It has a better design and a better chipset although it suffers from the flagship problem of trying to put in the best of the best (high refresh rate, high resolution, etc.) which consumes more battery. My XR21 has a worse CPU but due to having a more mid-range screen it lasts 3 days on a single charge.
OnePlus is dead to me. Honestly hasn't been great ever since I got the 6T.
Pls how much did you get it
@@lennart5738Android One isn't pure stock android. It's an android os for phones that can't run with full fledged OS usually due to memory and processor constraints.
Enjoy your phone, glad you like it but that's what Android One means.
@@chisomobed4304In Canada, there is a sale on the Motorola website where you can get it for only $799 CAD or around $599 USD brand new.
I had the MOTOROLA EDGE+ 2022 VERSION OF THIS PHONE and I just got the ANDROID 13 UPDATE last month. So yeah MOTOROLA needs to get better on the update front.
I've been using my Edge+ 2023 for about a month now, and overall I love it. That being said I do have a couple issues. The biggest is twice now the phone has pretty much locked up on me to the point where the phone is super slow and the only way around it is to reboot it. The only other issue I had was I lost internet twice the first week even through WiFI and cellular service was very good, but ever since the July update I haven't had that issue re-occur.
I'm used to the Pixel for the camera app, so Moto's app is taking a bit of getting used to, but it does take good-to-great pictures under normal circumstances.
From a cellular reception standpoint, it is top notch - MUCH better than my Pixel 7 which I otherwise loved.
i have that issue with my samsung galaxy a53 ive had it almost 2 years and its been great phone although time to time it gets really glitchy and laggy until restart not often mabye once or twice a week
I also came from my Google pix 7 I just got the edge from boost they have stepped it up overall I only paid 100 so you have any comments for me
The battery life is great in this phone sometimes the device requires a restart but it takes about 35 seconds so not too much of an inconvenience
can you do a video on undoing updates on revvl 6? I just got an update that I HATE because it messes with the keyboard's hight then on landscape, so I want to go back from version 13 to version 12
Can you really watch netflix with HDR? Is the audio really good so i can enjoy my music or while watching a movie?
I got mine thru project genesis 5G and I really love how the battery last you all day. It charge very fast, if you use the charger that came with it. You can increase the ram up to 10 GB thru settings and I got no problem with storage because all my photos are backed up on Google photos which it is not free but $1.99 per month yk. It does has the Dolby Atmos feature where you can increase the volume etc etc but like if you use it as a speaker, it's loud. The camera is alright but I really like the portrait mode also the video when recording is also alright too.
Can you do dual bluetooth devices like samsing? for instance samsung allows the pairing of two bluetooth speakers and will play audio out of both of them at the same time like a Left and right speaker setup.
Love this phone,I'm trying to get back the original clock that you have ,can't find it in widget s ?
Ordering mine tonight or tomorrow morning can't wait currently using a edge + 2022
Fiio BTR5 fixes the headphone jack issue, but it would be nice to see some nice in phone DACs since LG left the phone scene.
Can I ox cord out of the Motorola edge 2023 through the USB c port?
My bigest issue with this device vs last Year is Moto ready for last years phone it was seamless this years will work and then for no reason at all it stops working. Could be my television though but im not sure
Can you compare this phone to the OnePlus 11?
Where did you get that wallpaper? Love it!!
Sounds like a really good phone I'm very impressed with the storage and a few comments said the video camera quality is in high definition sounds pretty good thank you for your review my friend
I agree Motorola's track record is shaky but this phone looks like they hit it out of the park.
Planning on getting this phone tomorrow open box from best buy. I'm big time impressed. I do have a question if you don't mind. You mentioned thr 165hrtz refresh rate isn't really supported by hardly any of the apps. In developer settings cab you go in and manually override ththe refresh rate to be constant instead of a variable adptive type? Some of the Android phones will have a manual forced refresh tate in delrvoper options that will force the device to remain at its peak refresh tate all the time. Hoping this to possibly be the case. Second question it leads me to is at what refresh rate does it function at if you vsnt manually override and force 165hrtz refresh rate? Does it revert back to 90 and 120hrtz respectively or does it revert back to the awful 60hrtzs refresh rate when 165 isn't supported? I'm trading in a iPhone 13 towards this incredible device. How has the 8gs of RAM been and have you had aby issues with it not being able to carry a heavy load of open windows the background or have you noticed that the open windows are being refreshed when you go back to them after however long due to it not having 12gs of RAM? I appreciate your help and knowledge. I do plan on getting this device on Saturday afternoon. If you happen to see this and have time or a minute to let me know I would greatly appreciate it! Great review!
A bit late here, but I have the Edge+ 2022 and it runs consistently at 144hz. You can actually go into dev settings and enable "display refresh rate." It'll put a little green number in the corner of your screen displaying the constant refresh rate and in the regular phone settings, there's an option to lock phone to 144hz (instead of the automatic setting of 120hz). And since the phone never dips below 144hz no matter what app I'm using, I'm pretty sure everything is optimized to run at maximum 144hz on the Edge+ 2023 as well. There is some system UI compatibility for 165hz I'm sure, but there's not many apps optimized to that level just yet.
Great video and i got the phone! How did you get that wallpaper?
I can remember a time when Motorola had a better update schedule than even Nexus phones. The Moto X phones got new update updates the day Google released them.
Motorola phones should be the easiest ones to update because they use stock Android.
Great job the information is great, thank you.
Just bought an open box excellent condition one from Best Buy unlocked for only $440! Looking forward to replacing my slow and glitchy and camera pics sometimes not showing up after I take them Moto One Action!
Latest chipset, AMAZING camera, 2 day battery life + super fast charging, and you can get it for $300. For the price, this is easily the best phone in the market!
where can i get it for $300?
The regular edge 2023 can be found online for around 300 or a bit less. The edge plus 2023 can be found for around 400 might go on sale on back Friday
No SD was a con for me until I realized I barely fill the 512gb SD card I have in my current phone. 512gb internal is so large I personally don't believe I'll fill it while I use this phone so I'm cool with no SD on this phone. 😄 Going to order it next week.
Hey guys. Does this allow Wireless Charging and Google Wallet "Tap"? Where you can buy something from your phone with a tap of it on the card reader machine?
Yes its wireless charge but not google wallet.
thank you sir. i was looking to buy a new phone and i love how you got straight to the point no over explanation and sold me on it.
How about the sound?
How about the volume?
if you go to settings/ system/ /performance you can boost the ram to 10gb !!
It uses the storage space when you do that.
I'd advise against it.
Virtual RAM might come in handy if you leave a lot of background apps, especially recording in highend games that requires a bit more ram with the recorder on
Now you can go up more with the new update
Could you make a detailed video on Moto Edge 2023 which powered by a Dimensity chipset?
NEC? Can I use Google pay?
I was sold until you said the con about no head set jack, I really hate that. I have to have that option. Extremely nice and detailed review, Thank you!
Buckle up, because almost every flagship device these days no longer has the 3.5 mm jack. It’s usually a budget phone thing now. And I’d imagine in the very near future they will be gone completely. It’s been trending that way for a number of years now.
I like the wireless headphones the sound is way better
Use the apple ones . Usb c
Just get a USBC port
@@xerxesix1451yeah, and wireless headphones can be really cheap now
I got mine for 30 dollars
Is anyone using this phone with AT&T? My last phone Motorola Zoom One was dropped by AT&T like a brick.
Been wanting to get a 2nd hand pixel 6pro according to my budget and general preferences but this fone has been giving me those looks 😉😉 these last few weeks and im beginning to think... why not😊 .. will update in a few months... great review man.
Just ordered mine yesterday and getting it next week. Been using a Samsung s20 fe for a few years now and look forward to using my first Motorola smartphone.

I have a moto stylus 5g 2023. I keep phones for a long time. Should i switch to this phone? I watch a TON of netflix on my phone and im rly having FOMO with not having an OLED
Yes your get faster low up speed for watching movie and youtube. I say 25% faster then that budget moto stylus.
Your going to see alot more black ratio deeper black better then that boring moto stylus.
Base 512 Storage😮! Not even samsung and iPhone phones come base 512 this is a shocker..
Those two like to charge like 200 bucks for every 128 gigs… it sucks cause an SD card of that size is like 20 bucks… in my opinion it’s pretty abusive… but people still pay the ridiculous prices
Honest opinion, currently on an s22, after the 3rd loud speaker blowing out(and out of warranty) and trading in my 21+ because it had an earpiece failure. Thinking about replacing the s22 with one of these. Thoughts? Looks like a killer phone.
You should get it. Also, Boost Mobile has the phone for $400!!!
Looks like a better phone than an s22. Might buy this phone today. Lmao.
@@Greenfrom3 ended up picking up a mint open box one from Best buy for 550usd. Love it.
Samsung might have given you a better trade in deal (go in person) for the S22. Getting this phone coming from samsung's 'S' series is a downgrade
@@BrianRamotar_1776 it really hasn't been, screen is great, battery life and charging has been killer, and the speakers don't constantly blow out. The cameras are slightly less good at taking pictures, but not bad by any means, and the curved edge is slightly annoying. Otherwise I've been very happy with it.
I'm about halfway through your video. You talked about the charging and the fast charger comes with but you never mentioned the wireless charging it also does according to the Motorola website
How do you like the video camera quality on this phone my friend I think the storage is very impressive and it looks like a pretty good phone
As for update. Security patch as on time. Having this phone for 2 months... as promised.
Just got mine today through boost for199.99 for phone 341$ total that with 60$ plan and taxes and activation fee thats with a new number. but if your port your number over its 99.99 plus plan and taxes and activation fee probably be $230ish
I sold my iPhone 14 Pro to buy this on Black Friday 2023 when Best Buy had it for only $499...and I have to say...I have zero regrets.
The cameras are a bit...interesting.
The battery life is truly where this phone shines! I get nearly 2 days on moderate use! It's absolutely wonderful!
It really is a workhorse of a phone.
How would you compare this to the iphone?
@@ForrestLambert.2022 I'd say that this beats the iPhone in just about every way...
The only area where this may be considered "weak" would be the cameras...and of course not having iMessage or FaceTime, but other than that...I am beyond happy with this phone. I love it so much.
@@GaymingAndStuff How does it compare to the Galaxy S series?
I got mine for $399. a couple months ago. I'm really not sure how to turn it on and off. I haven't turned it on and off very much maybe once a month by then I forget
Hold the lock button? Pretty standard practice for phones.
Im looking for a new phone.. My question does it support game called sky children of the light.. Xiaomi 13 pro was a mess with this game
Probably does 8gb ram with snap dragon 2 and adreno 740 so google anything with that chipper of the can this can
Don't see why Moto can't come back to a major player status with this phone. The cons really don't amount to much. I have the new Razr Plus and it's a solid phone.
How you liking the Razr plus a few months later?
@@Greenfrom3Interior screen on my Razr plus stopped responding to touch entirely after a few months of use, I wouldn't recommend a flip phone for another year or two.
thanks for sharing the content on the 23 Edge. I'm currently using a OnePlus 11 and have been with OnePlus since the 5 but ready to make a move. Does anyone have feedback on the RAM of this current phone? The OnePlus im using is 256/16gb and wondering if i will notice the difference in RAM (half the RAM). Thanks for any info yall might have.
That would be a huge downgrade.
Why would u want to switch from the Oneplus 11? 🤔
You won't really notice any difference. I had a OP11 with 16gb and have used multiple phones with 8gb and never had any issue. Also, with 512gb enable RAM Plus and allocate 8GB of storage to ram, yeah its not ad fast but you won't notice it
Is this model being released in Europe anytime soon??? Although we have the Edge 40 Pro which is very very similar but with a slightly weaker battery.
would love to see them make a model with a stylus to get a better stylus competitor for the Ultra. Love the 200 dollar 4G Moto G Stylus and what is offers for the price though.
was gonna get it but then realizing that wrong move cause screen mirroring might be dumb again like my motorola one action screen mirror doesn't work!
SO i got the S23 instead
Same here with my moto one is not connecting.
@@baladanladiabraham6734 you can get samsung is easier
Might have to finally upgrade from my A52 5G.
Had mine for about a week. I got it open box from Best Buy for 500 bucks. It's solid but has some bugs. The Auto- Rotate is slow, some of the short cuts don't always work and yesterday the operating system just stopped working after overnight charge. The display is beautiful, it's fast and has tons of storage. Overall happy so far but had I spent full price I'd be pissed.
Unfortunately You overpaid for that phone if you looked around online you could find the phone around 300 USD factory unlocked. The Motorola edge is not worth 500 USD nor the plus version. the software does have issues since edge was first released.
@@Alejandra-cv7rj looked around online where? The only places I found it cheaper were places like Boost Mobile. I wasn't signing up with them.
No issues for me 2 weeks in. This phone is worth more than an iPhone any day.
I hate having a thick phone case. Is this the typical sturdy default Motorola case? They have always had good base cases. My Samsung cracks when I look at it funny.
Samsung chooses to make them this way, older models were so durable and fully waterproof.
My cons with the moto edge it doesn't have a headphone jack my pros it have a really good quality screen with 4k and the battery Life is good and the speaker is amazing

Just got this phone and it seems to get pretty warm...have any of you experienced this issue, is this normal?
It's a huge battery for a 6.7inch screen. And with the fast processor and the higher refresh rate options, I'm not surprised it runs hotter. I don't imagine it's not optimized to be hotter, though.
Overall good..but don't like the curved display 👎
Same😁🤗😎🤙
okay.........
Dev here, the reason why OS updates are delayed compared to other phone brands is because of Motorola Patent gestures. Each OS release needs to be optimized and tested to make sure that it does not alter/break the phone. Because other phones do not have gestures like Motorola, Samsung for instance can push out OS updates faster. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the explanation, makes a lot of sense. Have a great day boss! 💪🤙
Will metro by T-Mobile will have this phone any time soon?
199.00 right now
Not the moto edge+ , only boost has it

This video doesn’t do justice for the look and especially feel of this phone. The frosted matte black back glass is so beautiful and has a perfect feel.
Hi Techright do you have discord channel
No, i believe i closed it a while back
What did you mean by, apps not supporting high hz
Most apps don't support past 120 hz so the refresh rate is downgraded on those apps to highest possible refresh rate it can support.
Just got one today lol
There is no real always on displey option?
Nope

Great phone, but doesn't connect to Android Auto. Real bummer.
Seems alright. Again that lack of headphone jack across what seems nearly every newish phone. I'm just p.o.'d !!!!! At least Moto Edge has a heck of a lot of storage + the expandable card slot storage.
What phone in 2023 has a headphone jack?
I got the Motorola Edge 2022 and I'm still on android 12

This vs moto stylus 2024?
Wondering if the cameras are way better than the stylus and if the edge gets hot in the sunlight

The European version of Moto Edge +has SSD support system installed...
No expandable memory! that sucks!
How to get this wallpaper?

Just bought mine yesterday, waiting for delivery. Have been using Samsung for the past decade but their latest standard versions (S22/S23) only seem to get worse unless you buy the ultra. Plus the ultra is just too damn big in the hand, and heavy. The Edge+ 23 checks all my boxes.
How you liking it?
It's a fantastic phone. One small gripe I have is the back is super slipppery. I don't like to use a case so that's really my only complaint. @@Greenfrom3
Does it have wireless charging
Yes its 100% wireless charge
FYI that the 165 refresh rate has to be selected manually and chows your battery. Auto is default and runs at 120 so no real issue/con there.
At 165hz mine still lasts 2.5 days
@@Jst4vdeos OK. But then clearly you are not using it too much to get that battery life. I am talking about running LOTS of videos at that rate.

@@c.a.nixiii4650 true but a fast jump from 20-80 every 2 days shouldn't hurt it too bad
This is probably the best bang for buck phone if you want flagship specs. It has a gen 2 cpu, good camera, good battery life. It's going for $400 used. The phone reminds me of LG phone a few years back - high end specs for a cheap price. Motorola is a lesser known brand for phones.
Good memory about the LG phones, but I'm not sure why you think Motorola is lesser known? It's been around forever. Everybody knows what Motorola is. It might not be as popularly USED as an iPhone/Samsung, but it's a well known brand. I think I had a Droid Turbo 2 and I've got the Edge+ 2022 now. I've always had Samsung otherwise. But I've always known of Motorola, even going back 15+ years with their old Razr flip phones & house phones.
Am I the only one who miss the days before Google decide to make their own phones when Motorola phones would always receive the next version of Android and was almost always the first Android phones to receive the next Android update.
Just picked up 2 tonight, one for me and one for the wife.
iPhones base default is 32gb womp womp
Everyone says the fingerprint reader is slow but in my opinion its just as snappy as my S24 Ultra
Would be awesome without a curved display
just got this and still have the edge plus 2020. More thaj the headphone jack im disappointed about the mic recording quality: while it reduced wind noise in phone calls, it makes video recordings sound very low quality as if yourr under water. My 2020 has kuch crisper and richer recording. The ram is 8 gb compared to the 2020 12gb! talk ahout progress... camera is better in some areas and worse in others. Really sucks thst they took away the original dual led flash , and 3x optical zoom of the 2020. When taking tele shots, 2020 still beats this phone . but cpu is faster, and screen seems better. I wish they just kade the original better and not take away so many of its food features including the deeper curves that were really cool snd useful.
good phone but boost mobile updates for this phone are non-existent
The 8gb ram Is too lean. Any word on the e+2024? Coming to us?
You don't even need more than 6gb in most situations. 8gb is plenty! Especially since you can use ram boost for another 2gb of (slower) ram to make 10gb.
I'm looking for a new phone, I was initially bummed when I saw there was no headphone jack, but then I realized I couldn't remember the last time I used earbuds... And my earbuds are Bluetooth... I've realized that I actually don't need it
