Camping in the Remote Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho (Traveling in a Truck Camper)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- While traveling in our truck camper we found dispersed camping in the sawtooth mountains of Idaho. We spend the day fly fishing and lounging by the water. For dinner Kellie prepares shrimp Alfredo. The next day we mountain bike Fox Creek Loop trail in Ketchum, Idaho. Set up our new camping site at Meadows RV Park. Enjoy a delicious dinner at Enoteca.

I don't know why but I'm a little surprised you didnt get at least one fish to Kellie to whip y'all up some fresh trout for dinner. Cody is so kind & respectful to nature & the animals ❤
Beautiful pan sized fish. I don't blame you for letting those beauties go. ❤

Glad to see Cody catch some trout. That was a great looking spot. Thanks for taking us along!
After at least 3 years of following you all, I still continue to love all the phenomenal nature scenes you capture. I also enjoy experiencing your bike rides, hikes, kayaking and even fishing experiences. And don’t even get me started on all the wonderful cooking experiences I’ve had with Kelly. You two got me an my husband into camping which we’ve done a few times and loved it! Unfortunately, health issues have kept us from camping as much as we would have liked, but with your scenic videos, we get to camp still, and enjoy all those fun and scenic camping trips with you. Thank you for sharing your fun experiences with us!
I just love watching Kellie cook. The scenery is awesome, a wonderful camping spot.😊
Son ... You Fish fer Fun? 😅 Good Job. 🐟 🐟
KETCHUM... YUR RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD. MY HOMESTEAD JUST SOUTH OF THE LAVA FIELDS. ENJOY THE COOLER WEATHER...... IT WAS 82 HERE IN THE CRATERS OF THE MOON LAKE WALCOTT. BE BLESSED IN YUR TRAVELS AND ENJOY OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
Nice. Im in Boise and planned on a quick overnight truck trip with the dogs last Friday (8-4-23). I took Bear Valley Road out of Cascade and ended up in Stanley. The rain started outside of Stanley. I found a great spot just North of the Galena Summit. After a quick dinner and brief campfire the rain and T-storms drove me out. It was too wet for the dogs to roam with the heavy rain. I decided to sleep in my own bed instead of reclined in the drivers seat. I drove south through Ketchum and Hailey on my way home. I did keep an eye out for future spots and noted the many campers and trailers in the dispersed areas. I know I saw a camper or two which may have been you. Anyways, Ive always enjoyed your videos!
Just recently found you all. You two are so easy to watch. Be safe.
Those rocks actually looked liked fish. How wonderful is that ! Mother nature can really make art .Just started watching your channel today. This video had me subscribing. More please.
Wow this guy got such a good cook partner. She's amazing and I like her vibe too. I wish you guys could have cooked that rainbow trout he caught but I cant complain this was very fun to watch:) As Always
Dandelion I have seen that big in Alaska. We picked the leaves and yellow flowers and used them in a salad. The roots actually detoxify your liver. You can buy a dandelion supplement. It also helps lever A1C sugar levels in your body.
Yum,The shrimp alfredo looked great. Cool mtn bike trail too. 🚵🚵♀️ 🍋 🍤🍷✌🏻
The giant dandelion is Western Salsify.
Congrats on the fishing success.
A suggestion: Save NE for next year. Enjoy Idaho.
Why is that?
@@CodyandKellie NE is a long drive skipping over a lot of things to do where you are. Have fun either way.
What a beautiful little town!! That food looed amazing!! Just a great video and gorgeous scenery. And Cody caught rainbow trout! Woo-hoo! One of my favorite fish to eat is fresh caught trout out of a cold stream 😋
Love the Trout Fish Too & This GreAAAAT 🌈Scenery.
glade to see ta back
Thanks for sharing another great episode...I'm playing catch up on your channel, so probably gonna miss you on this one, but loved your camp site and your fishing.
Also, wanted to let you know that you are spot on in worrying more about moose than bear. Moose injure more people than bear, because of how protective mothers are of their babies, but are not smart enough to avoid people. Bears are prote time as well, but try to avoid people.
Also, you were spot on about that moose scat being old. That was winter scat. (Summer scat looks closer to a cow patty).
Truly appreciate you guys and all the effort you go to, to share with the rest of us.
Being out in the woods and by a river, can’t help but sleep so good😴
I used to fish the St Maries and St Joe Rivers near St Maries, Idaho area. Both were amazing!
That's quite the view up in the mountains. Y'all are living the true American dream. Best of luck on your next adventure ✨️
I do the light gray, Celtic Sea Salt but I make a hydrating drink from it I learned from she is of the woods gal. I learned almost all of my medicine-making from her but now I watch y’alls channel to get insider info regarding camping and especially camp cooking guides. Love y’alls channel!!
🎉🎉🎉🎉 Kelly and Cody you guys always rock 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love Idaho. Ketchum and the sawtooth area is beautiful.
There's camping in national forests! Thanks for letting us know!
What was the dessert you had at Enoteca? It looked scrumptious!
Loved this episode!! Fishing, good food 🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸💪🏼🤙🏼
I was using Himalyan Salt which is mined in the Himalyan Mountains in Pakastan. But watched a video called Off Grid with Doug and Stacy and they use Redmond Real sea salt mined in an ancient sea bed in Utah. I was confused, an ancient sea bed in Utah????? But that is true and Stacy made me a believer. They also talked about taking a pinch every day. They also use Bentonite Clay from these mines. You definitely should watch their video. I definitely would rather buy anything from the United States in lieu of another country. I think Doug and Stacy even went on a tour through the mines.
The seed head that you saw was most likely western salsify, not dandelion. Great fishing! I love to trout fish. You should come to Missouri, we have some great trout fishing here. They are huge compared to dandelion. What a quaint little town, I'm diggin' it. Food looked amazing. Cody, you looked dapper in your button down shirt 😊. You two always look amazing in your outfits, no matter what you are wearing. Happy camping 😊.
I like to add bay scallops to that dish. I make that often. Sometimes it comes close to a paella.
If you go thru Rawlins wy stop in at The Greatful Goat Hostel and laundromat. Kate is a nomad who recently bought this establishment. She's quite a person and artist. As a bonus you'll get meet her goat Little Leaf.
Awesome Trout!! Next time do a catch and cook!
My sister in law has lived in Ketchum for years!
You both look Beautiful 🥰.
And all that food you’ll had look delicious 😋
You just let dinner go dang good eatting
Cody's The Dude 😂
Go Johnny B Whild!!!
Kelly try adding just a little nutmeg to your Alfredo sauce next time ! You can thank me later ! lol it really does bring it up a notch.
Great video! Loved the scenery, the fishing and the biking ❤
You guys should do a Q&A. I love your videos and would love to know more about you. How did you meet? How long do you plan on living on the road? Etc. ❤❤
Phenomenal site you guys 🍁🌲🍂😍.
Stunning fishes, Cody 🎣 👍🏻✌🏼👍🏻, perfect spot, beautiful 🐟🐟.
Enoteca: ENO (it stands for “wine” in ancient Greece + TECA (stands for “place of,” in spanish), there you have it 😉, you had deliiiiicious dinner at the “place of wine” 😂.
See you on the next one 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻😀
This has got to be one of the better camping videos I have seen in a while. I loved the shrimp stuff. Got everything I need. And that restaurant looked amazing!! I saw your truck plates are Arkansas, I lived in Springdale then in 1999 a big box store transferred me to Branson West, MO. Now retired in 2012 and still live in Stone County, MO. on Table Rock Lake. So many different species of fish in Table Rock, I just go for the catfish and crawdads. Sometimes I'll go for blue gill (perch) and crappy. Fish mostly from a kayak. Then below the TRL dam is Lake Taneycomo which is stocked with record rainbow and browns. I have a couple of short videos on here of the Table Rock Lake dam opened up from a huge flood we had here. One of them you can see a huge log coming over and down into Taneycomo. Lots of campgrounds around, not much dispersed camping though. I live just off of what is called a "Lake Road", one way in and one way out. Down at the end of it is a Corp of Engineer campground. It's called Aunts Creek Campground COE. It's on State Highway OO (double O). Get ahold of me if you ever come this way. (Don't wait too long, (I'm old)). Even though it's just a couple miles from my house (driving), it's actually less then a half mile from my house as the crow flies, ( I am so very sorry and apologetic. (DISCLAIMER : I don't mean that crows are more superior than other birds or inferior. I have stayed there in my 2020 Grand Caravan. (I can leave my camp set up and drive home to take care of my animals then be right back when I am done). Check which times they are and are not busy. Just stay away around the 4th of July. It's crazy and very sad but so many drownings around the holidays. A few years ago, one of my neighbors that lives here had taken her 3 young sons to the boat dock, the youngest fell in and couldn't swim, the second son jumped in to get him, got under the boat dock so the eldest jumped in. Long story short, the youngest that fell in survived, his 2 older brothers didn't make it.
Interesting story. Sad to hear the ending
Drive Hwy 93 from Salmon to Missoula, Montana, it is one of the most scenic drives in America.
I watched this video this morning. It's so relaxing and peaceful to see all of the sights. My husband and I had plans to travel in a camper when we retired, but he had a massive stroke almost 7 years ago so i see the US with you. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us ❤
So excited for Cody catching the trout.😊😊😊
This was such a beautiful vlog. Constantly blown away at your creative eye, Cody!
Cody and Kelly ok you two lazy bums ya sometimes it's tuff to get out of bed ya I have the old school toaster that you put on the camp fire Cody I was hoping for a fish dinner I have the same kind of luck fishing oh and that dinner at the restaurant wow a lot of food and that dessert with the ice cream on top was that pie take care happy camping
Nice job guys. Love watching your adventures. We are fellow Arkansans and appreciate what you do. Cody got me excited about polishing off the fishing gear. Looking forward to more.
Finally up? Man I could get plum lazy in that Camper sitting next to a river.
Love to watch you cook. Probably wouldn't eat much of it because I'm more of a "meat and taters" kind of guy, but that Shrimp Pasta looked fire.
CONGRATS ON THE TROUT!!!!!!!!!
Your camper is very cosy 🇨🇦
Thank you for letting the trout go, I only hope that their mouth doesn't hurt!
It’s fine
3:25 for toasting I use a little cookie cooling rack. Secret is to keep it moving and flip the bread over a few times. And know when to stop. Results are good as a home electrical toaster.
Loved Idaho! Hey, if you're on your way to New England don't miss out on New Hampshire. We have tons of awesome tips!! Like mountain biking, talk to our son Tim. Like rock climbing, talk to our son Jon. Like hiking, talk to us. Need a driveway to park in, come on over to Northwood.
I think I was camped in the same area in 3 different years of my ramblin'. First was boondocking and next two were USFS Murdock CG, Murdock is about 1 mi N of the hwy on North Fork Rd (191). First year was 2011 and there were no designated boondocking sites. In 2017 there were. Sawtooths are my favorite area of ID. Keep up the great videos!!
Nice catch bro. The fish weren't bad either. 👍
You two have a great channel with rich content and top notch film-making that is always a joy to watch. I also admire your sense of adventure by communing with the wilderness where bear, moose and mountain lions are a real possibility of an encounter. Seeing you without a can of bear mace strapped to you side takes my breath away.
Great video man you need to fish for big fish. Travel safely and New England here you come!
We do the Celtic Seasalt then drink water and we are using it with cooking instead of table or pink Himalayan salt
Good to see you catching some fish!
Biggest and you let it go. You Rock! Wife got your cookbook yesterday so were looking forward to some good dishes. Cheers!
Awesome 🔥🆙
Smart move over to Celtic sea salt. I moved away from seed oils too. Butter and salt all the way. Not sure if you ever do but a meet and greet if passing by Lancaster county PA. Your good people.
Loved the shot with the yellow and purple flowers between you on bikes. That was art.
Y’all are on my cancer journey with me! I have lung cancer and your videos are so calming PERFECT for my soul ❤
Sending prayers for healing
Sending prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Great catch Cody…nice release! Love the videos guys, especially the cooking Kellie! You guys looked good biking, my favorite sport.
The Trout are much bigger in Colorado.
Beautiful! I am so loving this summers trips!
I’m recovering from an injury, and came across your adventures. I just love your videos. Keep up the hard work. I enjoy them very much!
Idaho is beautiful. My daughter was at Camp Perkings for the summer as a counselor. The camp is not too far from there. We pick up after she was done and went to Stanley, Idaho. Is beautiful place. Had breakfast there.
That sure was an awesome campsite, and the fishing👍
We were really wanting to see you guys drive through Canada, and all over Alaska. Some thing that I’ve been wanting to do but, I’m not in the position to do it. Still love watching you all, and I know it’ll be great.
We watch every episode. We even ordered Italian stallion coffee. Lol, plus you’re cutting board, plus your cookbook. We are living in Northwest Arkansas.
Thanks again for your adventures!
You go Cody! Great catch👍🏾🙂
Oh ps show you great fishing spots.😊😊
Nice catch--I could feel the energy in those trout. Beautiful water!
Love, love, love your videos. I can't believe how completely beautiful that Idaho is. Congrats on rhe the pretty fish.!! Thank you for sharing your story
Thanks guys. Really enjoyed Your video. I've been looking at truck campers, and You've made it even more enticing.
I became your big fan. Thank you for travelling and cooking.
I think you guys missed the crate lake in Oregon.
Excellent video. Just beautiful.
Love watching your videos! If you are going to be zig zigging through Ohio at all, you should check out the Hocking Hills area….lots of caves and cool topography. Another great area is the hippie town of Yellow Springs. And near there is Clifton Gorge and John Bryan State Park. 😎
Since you got the truck camper you seldom cook outside anymore. I miss that. I also have your cookbook
Because we have a whole kitchen in our camper.
Finally, that was fishing. Be proud. That was great. The better half not too excited about your newfound addiction. Best of luck.
Very nice Rainbow Tout Cody🤩
Can’t wait to see Kelly cook it❣️😊
Great video guys. Awesome fishing dude, I believe that rainbow trout are the prettiest freshwater fish. Looked like a good restaurant (from the "Angel Princess's" facial expression, the desert must have been yummy 😋 ).
Safe travels😊
I caught Kellie’s shoulder Shuffle
And Cody I can't belive you didn't take those trout home for Kelly to cook !!
I always look forward to your videos. You never disappoint!
P.S. DID YOU LIKE GOONIES?😂
WOW Beautiful place. I love Kellies’ cooking.
Omg hopefully you make it to Vermont! Please let me know if you do I know of a great place for you to camp with the truck and hike and see the most beautiful places.
It is so cold there for so long.😢
Another great video! I have watched you from the beginning. I always love the drone shots. Such amazing scenery. I have to admit, sometimes the mountain biking looks so scary! Just enjoyed so much!
I absolutely love that you’re explaining your recipes!
On your journey to New England, if you going through Fort Wayne, IN it would be great to meet you guys.
I use Himalayan pink salt, same benefits.
Great bike footage!! Hey, if you make it to Acadia National Park in Maine, let me know. It is outside my front door!
Kelly, ever try cotija cheese? Its a nmexican parmasan cheese, soo much better then regular parmasan.comes in a ball like a hockey puck.can be crumbled or grated
