I really love this ending. We get to see a side of Cervantes that aren't shown in the other games. Sad really. In the end he's not as evil as he appears, but rather it's Soul Edge that made him that way.
Good guy Cervantes: atones for his wrong doings, sacrifices himself to rid the world of Soul Edge and dies an unsung hero. Obviously this isn't canon but it is an interesting character study considering this is the only ending where he does something like this.
I really wish they'd have kept this aspect of his character in the Soul Calibur series. It would have been nice to have such an alternate ending for him throughout those games.
i've always wondered what the ending would be like with cervantes. i was on the last battle and my brother turned off the playstation because we were going to disneyland. i would never forgive him for that. lol. damn, i was like 5. i never thought i'd get to see it. thank you
"My beautiful town, destroyed! All those terribly rendered polygons, low draw distance, blurred textures, fog....WHO DID THIS?!?!?!? AAAAAAAGGGHH!!!" I have such fond memories of this game, but boy , it hasn't half aged bad. Like most games of that era... I wonder if we'll look back on Soul Calibur 4 in ten years with the same feeling....
I´m still not sure if Cervantes is a villain or a good guy, he does tons of evil things in the series, but only because he was possesed by the sword i think, so that makes him a good guy right?
I don't really get this. The town doesn't look destroyed to me, plus if Cervantes feels bad about having destroyed something, it would be better to rebuild it than kill himself surely.
184natasha Well, yes it would be good to rebuild the town, but for the greater good he sacrifices his own life to destroy SoulEdge so that it may never again harm the world like it has did to his town. His Town was deserted and void of life, it would be hard to restore it to it's former state with only himself especially if he is a dreadful renown wanted pirate who had killed many people during the process of the game. Though sadly, this ending is non-canon since SoulEdge is around for the next five installments and Siegfried's ending is the true ending that happened. Yet, I wish he could restore the Town to it's former glory and go on a path for atonement of his sins, becoming a hero-like character who would be rather awesome, but that would lead the series to a different story and game.
VS IA maybe, but vs human: Easy to dodge with side step, and receive bonus damage from the back. Best easy combo with him is square-square triangle, or square-square-down + square .
Same here. Siegfried should have German (same with Nightmare or some other), Cervantes Spanish, Talim Tagalog, all the Koreans Korean and Chinese Chinese, and so on and so forth. It would be like Tekken is now and that's pretty badass what they did with the language thing
its not a change of heart its a change of soul cervantes was being controled and after he was released from his curse he realized that he had to kill himself to get rid of those evil blades
This is a really good ending. Though how can he sacrifice himself 5 times over. He's a bit of a caricature now but ivy and seigfried have both gone through a nice redemption arc
You forget that he was a pirate before he took soul Edges. You forget why he took it too. I don't know the story line, but correct me if I am wrong, but is it possible he was evil before, and controlled a city with his power, a city he loved, and took the soul edge to continue being evil.
@enigmatism800 traduccion *Despues del grito de agonia: Cervantes: Que me ha sucedido? oh!... Mi hermosa ciudad... destruida... ¿Que he hecho? *agarra espadas Como castigo, les dare mi vida. * Destruye las espadas y muere.
the influence of the soul edge turns everyone into psychos, it happened to sigfried and in later entries, cervantes is almost like a drug adict thanks to the soul edge
I really love this ending. We get to see a side of Cervantes that aren't shown in the other games. Sad really. In the end he's not as evil as he appears, but rather it's Soul Edge that made him that way.
One of the most beautiful soundtracks in gaming history!
Really was
Good guy Cervy preventing the entire Soul Calibur series
Hey, if it means 5 never happens, it might be a worthy trade.
So wait, if Cervy had conquered Soul Edge himself, he probably would've prevented the events of the WHOLE SERIES from occurring?
Awesome! XD
This ending music makes me cry back then
Good guy Cervantes: atones for his wrong doings, sacrifices himself to rid the world of Soul Edge and dies an unsung hero.
Obviously this isn't canon but it is an interesting character study considering this is the only ending where he does something like this.
Funny that Cervantes is the only one with the balls to do what it takes to really destroy Soul Edge.
You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain.
he is the oposite, he lived long enought to become a hero, at the cost of his life
I really wish they'd have kept this aspect of his character in the Soul Calibur series. It would have been nice to have such an alternate ending for him throughout those games.

Cervantes is a Hero.
He's both
Feeling what little humanity he had left Cervantes sacrificed himself to destroy the cursed blade and in the end the dreaded pirate became a hero
"My beautiful town, destroyed! All those terribly rendered polygons, low draw distance, blurred textures, fog....WHO DID THIS?!?!?!? AAAAAAAGGGHH!!!"

I'm from the future, Soul Calibur IV still looks good, arguably better than VI 😯
@@DarthWall275 It's cuz of the bloom effect they use in IV.
This posted in October 2007, not 2006.
So basically, you can use souledge safely as long as you don't connect sword handles. What if you do it by accident? It's like the electric circuit :D
If he wanted to atone he should spend more time with his daughter Ivy, go home and be a family man.
maybe those hands were just too rough, too stained to hold his baby daughter
Everything looked dead in most of the stages back then but the town looked ok I guess
A moment of clarity can heal even the darkest of hearts
Wait a minute! This is his good ending?
Yes
Man... The memories that brought back!
Cervantes was a true bro
Cervantes is a Villain.
He's both
He should Go Back to being a Villain that's Realistic
I brought this when I was like 6, it was covered in glue and only worked once.
I´m still not sure if Cervantes is a villain or a good guy, he does tons of evil things in the series, but only because he was possesed by the sword i think, so that makes him a good guy right?
People forget Cervantes stopped aging at 51. So he can hone his skill eternally.
I don't really get this. The town doesn't look destroyed to me, plus if Cervantes feels bad about having destroyed something, it would be better to rebuild it than kill himself surely.

It looks fine but he killed everyone. It's literally a ghost town now.
VS IA maybe, but vs human:
Easy to dodge with side step, and receive bonus damage from the back.
Best easy combo with him is
square-square triangle, or
square-square-down + square .
Destroyed? Town looks good to me..
It's deserted and devoid of life because of his merciless rampage on it's inhabitants.
You're telling me....
hey a big clash the inmortal pirate cervantes de leon vs the drunk captain jack sparrow what do you think
I use to have this game and dosent rember some of the endings.
I always found it funny how Cervantes' throw would have water SFX in the replay...
if u listen 2 rock while hes fighting, sumtimes it sounds like hes saying 'tree!'
my fav combo of Cervantes was always Triangle, Triangle, Triangle.
so sad he died
Yo what if this whole time he was just trying to get the other half so he could do this?
Okay... Sooo, all good pirates are, in other words, Jedi masters? That's COOL! ^^
Same here. Siegfried should have German (same with Nightmare or some other), Cervantes Spanish, Talim Tagalog, all the Koreans Korean and Chinese Chinese, and so on and so forth. It would be like Tekken is now and that's pretty badass what they did with the language thing
whats the name of the song for the ending ? its nice but sad
It's called "Aftermath"
that move at 0:09 how do you do it?
wha song plays in this ending.?
It's called "Aftermath"
love this game
its not a change of heart its a change of soul cervantes was being controled and after he was released from his curse he realized that he had to kill himself to get rid of those evil blades
¿ alguien me explica por que el desaparece ?
Sooo, what you've written on the video description... Does that apply to captain Jack Sparrow too?
That's grøh's weapon
well he's essentially the opposite of his father......
what i thought he was a bad pirate or is he neutral?
bad but he is possesed by the soul edge
This is a really good ending. Though how can he sacrifice himself 5 times over. He's a bit of a caricature now but ivy and seigfried have both gone through a nice redemption arc
Welp. We’re the old guys !!!
did he have a alternate ending like li long or hwang?
Every Soul Blade character has an alternate ending.
You forget that he was a pirate before he took soul Edges. You forget why he took it too. I don't know the story line, but correct me if I am wrong, but is it possible he was evil before, and controlled a city with his power, a city he loved, and took the soul edge to continue being evil.

doesnt the endings depend on their costume
He wanted to avenge his father who passed on
I thought that was just Siegfried
Me too . it sucks
his father was killed by other pirates, philip de leon was from the spanish navy and died in battle
Such a unbelievable ending, too much of a change of heart
the influence of the soul edge turns everyone into psychos, it happened to sigfried and in later entries, cervantes is almost like a drug adict thanks to the soul edge
@ironwolg I personally think he just killed himself because he lost a beloved city made of his sins
wouldn't this be a bit of a sad ending
1:03 aahh...
so dramatic
well now he is no longer human he is completely EVILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
bleh bleh gah! thats wot he sounds like wen he combos
yes their own languages sophitia should speak in greek, mitsurugi in japanise, ivy in english, raphael in french and Algol should have his own language.
Cervantes ile çok final bitirdim
TREEEEE!!!
The best
Cervantes has been confirmed for SC 5, but he looks more human and less corpsy.
Jarock316 it's a new body
i this is before soul calibur
Cervantes!! he would kick that "pirate wannabe"'s ass 4 sure...
That's strange, I didn't remember the voices were in English, I thought they were in Japanese.
That is some funny stuff. XD
I like the other ending more I like evil characters
Yes... at least in the x-rated version.
blah blah... blah...*the sound he makes during said combo
What the hell type of ending was that???!!! Bastards.....
-_- ...... are you serious? Wild Storm? Armada Eraser is so much better.
bleh blah gah!
lol
