Its the first time ive seen someone who is affiliated with the online dating sites provide a real understanding of the risks as well as the rewards. So i highly applaud your honesty and guidance on that. As for me, ive spend my whole life living in a mindset of scarcity and that mindset compelled me to find the quickest way to a relationship. Unfortunately, when ya don't take your time and be discerning about who you get into a relationship with you often end up with a partner with a low quality of character. I lived terrible relationship to terrible relationship for years, but 2 years ago i said no more. I've focused on becoming a better man myself, and now im unwilling to take shortcuts to my next relationship. For the next 3 years ill be visiting the Philippines for 2-4 months a year to seek out a community in what i call the deep province in the mountains north of Baguio (ill be there in dec & jan). My plan is to find the community i want to live & begin to integrate into it. Ill then move there in 3 years when i turn 40, and at that time I'll find a quality woman in that community. As part of this journey ill also be learning Ilocano and hope to be very fluent in 3 years. Learning the language will give me the ability to integrate into the community at a much deeper level than if i just speak English (in my humble opinion). I won't be online dating, but instead will be very active in the community i live. Because the best way to meet a woman of high quality of character is to show the community your quality of character over a long period of time (no flash in the pan). Working in the community also give you the ability to watch how the ladies treat others from a distance. You get to see how they treat others, children & the elderly. Plus knowing the language you'll be able to understand what she says to others and what others say about her. If the juice (a quality woman) is worth the squeeze (time & effort put forth) then take the time to really integrate. Because nothing in this world of great value is achieved & kept without putting in a real effort with the exception of the grace given to us by Jesus. I would agree like yourself I'm an American that has lived here in the Philippines, over 30+ years I speak the language fluently with the proper pronunciation of the words, and I can read and write as well and I'm a dual citizen. I raised my 6 children all adults now. I came Here initially as an Expat worker for an American company continue to extend my contracts and then retired and started a business after marrying my Filipina wife, who's American educated I find it quite interesting. How many of these newcomers seem to be authorities and issues that they have very little experience with it took me at least five years to start to unravel life here and it took me another 10 years to try and understand the culture and believe me I'm not a slow learner. I have three college degree two from University of Southern California and an MBA from Stanford. And I am a CPA with a masters in taxation. Never the less I find it interesting that some think they have cracked the code on everything about the Philippines. I guess people want to earn money here. One suggestion that nobody ever makes and I would strongly emphasize doing, so is learn to speak. Tagalog learn our national language and learn the proper pronunciation of the words. Don't learn, sloppy Tagalog learn excellent Tagalog and you will be respected. I guess that's too hard because the people that would be saying it don't speak Tagalog sad

My advice to you is pray for Gods leading and if you are in the Philippines the best place is the church and ask the pastor the real Christian woman in that church,not just a professing Christian.Meeting people in the mall or somewhere you will encountered a lot of unbeliever and take advantage on you. I have to say I failed in almost everything you suggested. Met online. I sent money right away. I drink and smoke. And we had sex the first night we were together all be it we had an LDR for 2 years because of covid. Yet we have a wonderful loving relationship. All the guys want a woman like my Filipino wife. Guys it comes down to a few things in my opinion. 1 having many things in life in common. 2 If you worry about giving her money or she worries about getting money from you what does that say about your relationship. And 3 use your God given common sense. I agree with you stay away from the bar girls and women under at least 28 years old. As your wife stated, I believe that respect is number one and the second thing is, "never stop being the person you were when you first fell in love with each other". This goes for both the man and woman. Remember the things that brought the spark of love upon both of you, how you treated her, the things you did together, the way you acted, did you open doors for her, did you occasionally surprise her somehow, etc. So often once people are married they get so relaxed and turn into a completely different person and expect the relationship to last. Most love between two usually decreases over time rather than increase. Always try to remind yourself, if I am going to change make it be only change for the better. .

I'm a borne again Christian and been watching many different videos about retirement in the Philippines but my priority is my relationship with the Lord so I was glad to find your channel. It scares me to death though moving to a foreign country when I don't know anyone. Even visiting would be scary as I have never been out of The U.S. before. I am praying about it though.

You will ask Leah some leading questions and she will hesitate to think about her answer, but often you keep on going without giving her room to answer or fully develop her response. Good stuff. From what I can gather, a huge problem in the Philippines is women posing as single, but in fact, they are separated, which technically means they are still married. I agree that getting involved with the church particularly a church that has a lot of members is the best way, but I am assuming even in church, there are a lot of separated women.
The quality of the church is much more important than the number of women! This should be obvious, but so many of our churches are hardly better than the culture around them; we need to be wary of superficiality - whether it’s in the culture or the church.
I actually saw your wife in a different channel where they're were 3 wonderful ladies discussed about passport bro. Anyways, you both look wonderful and great couple. My advice is to come over here and start dating after a while and get a feeling for the good ones. Best way is to made friends and ask them if they know some single women. Preselected women. If they ask for money right away just skip them. For the LOVE of MONEY is the ROOT of ALL evil. Many error and forget who brought them through trial's and tribulation's. You see GOD used Mechelle to bring me closer to JESUS! I have heard almost every story in the book for reasons to send money to a girl you chat too. Being honest does not always work, I have told so many I am not rich and have to stick to a budget. Before I came here many would say I got have lots. I ended up telling them my expenses in peso so they would understand and they would still say oh you have lots you can send. I have so many blocked for this reason. There are certain sites that have video ads on UA-cam that start out with Filipinas love American men. What about Canadian or European men or any other nationality so I avoid those sites as I feel like the sites only want American men and discriminate against all othe men in the world. I have had no luck to find a good one yet and been here 4 months now. Either they are not good or they are married and looking for someone, already have a boyfriend, not looking for a boyfriend. God has certainly created us to procreate the earth and in doing so, He placed strong desires in man. Adam. Then man, Adam, fell from God in the Garden when the devil enticed Eve. Having fallen through sin, it didn't erase the deep desires God placed in man to pro-create, but satan, as is his nature, used those desires to pull man away from God through sexual sin. When in the flesh, it is impossible to please God. So sexual desires still lead men because they are acting out of their sin filled nature, their flesh. Even after God's Grace has entered a man's life, that strong desire remains. And, in doing so, God says "premarital sex is a sin against a man's body." which indicates a deep wound in the soul of the man that has "become one" with a woman through the act. God is so loving and kind with deep Grace for our lives. Repentance means to turn away from our sinful acts and "go and sin no more" as He told the woman caught in the act of adultery. John 8:11. John 8:1-12 is the beautiful account of the wonderful power of God's forgiveness. If we are followers with strong desires, Paul said "find a wife". First of all lets start from the beginning...If a guy doesn't have a good heart than it makes no difference if he finds a good woman or not...these topics are Great but they must come with a Disclaimer that the Advice only works for someone willing to Love a Filipina. Too many people just go to the Philippines to play around..they are not capable of falling in Love and they have no experience being in Love. That being said...there is so many good Filipina and so many bas ones..and for those people who are new to dating a Filipina than use common sense...pick a girl who has a good family structure..and little baggage..there are good girls with kids but there is just as good ones with no kids. Im not a big believer that you can find a good filipina in certain places..some people have success online dating and some people don't....Churches.. University..and Places of business are good places to start because you have a idea that the filipina is willing to study and work...but some people like province girls that can clean...im not going to say Cook because most don't cook western food...
Is it a red flag when a girl asks for money? Not always. During the pandemic in the Philippines, many people weren't working and could be desperate just to have food. They have no safety net there and only a few small churches there do a limited amount to help the poor. If you're serious about having a traditional marriage where a man supports his family and the woman stays home and takes care of the kids, then you'll be supporting her when you marry. So I figured that since I was going to marry her anyway, I might as well, under the Lord's guidance send my LDR enough to meet some basic needs. How could I not do so when I had the means to help and my God-given manly instincts to care and support were fully activated? And one of the things a woman looks for in a man is someone who will provide for her and their children. Everything worked out and we're now happily married.
You are right but more often than not it is.. As my wife said it's ok to send money if you can easily afford it, understand the risks and know that you are basing the relationship on giving money instead of focusing on the more important things as you get to know this person.

I’m amazed that so few people appear to proceed w/o the advice of the smartest most holy man who ever lived: Jesus! It is only on account of our sinful confusion that we dismiss his advice (even ‘commands’). If I were looking for a wife from the Philippines, I would never even hazard a date unless I had met the woman in church! “By their fruit, you shall know them!” So why should we trust each other unless we show the obedience of being church members? Less than that shows levels of confusion! Secondly, trusting in sexual intimacy prior to marriage is totally crazy! It trusts in our own psychological strengths more than the Lord’s. As Gary emphasizes, time and talking are totally important. Talking reveals the soul! I would never marry based on premarital sex; but neither would I marry someone who couldn’t have a careful, mature talk about our future sexual relationship! Again, God created us to be verbal creatures. If we can talk about these things, it shows that we have healthy views of them.

Its the first time ive seen someone who is affiliated with the online dating sites provide a real understanding of the risks as well as the rewards. So i highly applaud your honesty and guidance on that. As for me, ive spend my whole life living in a mindset of scarcity and that mindset compelled me to find the quickest way to a relationship. Unfortunately, when ya don't take your time and be discerning about who you get into a relationship with you often end up with a partner with a low quality of character. As part of this journey ill also be learning Ilocano and hope to be very fluent in 3 years. Learning the language will give me the ability to integrate into the community at a much deeper level than if i just speak English (in my humble opinion). I won't be online dating, but instead will be very active in the community i live. Because the best way to meet a woman of high quality of character is to show the community your quality of character over a long period of time (no flash in the pan). Working in the community also give you the ability to watch how the ladies treat others from a distance. You get to see how they treat others, children & the elderly. Plus knowing the language you'll be able to understand what she says to others and what others say about her. If the juice (a quality woman) is worth the squeeze (time & effort put forth) then take the time to really integrate. Because nothing in this world of great value is achieved & kept without putting in a real effort with the exception of the grace given to us by Jesus. I would agree like yourself I'm an American that has lived here in the Philippines, over 30+ years I speak the language fluently with the proper pronunciation of the words, and I can read and write as well and I'm a dual citizen. I raised my 6 children all adults now. I came Here initially as an Expat worker for an American company continue to extend my contracts and then retired and started a business after marrying my Filipina wife, who's American educated I find it quite interesting. How many of these newcomers seem to be authorities and issues that they have very little experience with it took me at least five years to start to unravel life here and it took me another 10 years to try and understand the culture and believe me I'm not a slow learner. I have three college degree two from University of Southern California and an MBA from Stanford. And I am a CPA with a masters in taxation. Never the less I find it interesting that some think they have cracked the code on everything about the Philippines. I guess people want to earn money here. One suggestion that nobody ever makes and I would strongly emphasize doing, so is learn to speak. Tagalog learn our national language and learn the proper pronunciation of the words. Don't learn, sloppy Tagalog learn excellent Tagalog and you will be respected. I guess that's too hard because the people that would be saying it don't speak Tagalog sad

My advice to you is pray for Gods leading and if you are in the Philippines the best place is the church and ask the pastor the real Christian woman in that church,not just a professing Christian.Meeting people in the mall or somewhere you will encountered a lot of unbeliever and take advantage on you. I have to say I failed in almost everything you suggested. Met online. I sent money right away. I drink and smoke. And we had sex the first night we were together all be it we had an LDR for 2 years because of covid. Yet we have a wonderful loving relationship. All the guys want a woman like my Filipino wife. As your wife stated, I believe that respect is number one and the second thing is, "never stop being the person you were when you first fell in love with each other". This goes for both the man and woman. Remember the things that brought the spark of love upon both of you, how you treated her, the things you did together, the way you acted, did you open doors for her, did you occasionally surprise her somehow, etc. So often once people are married they get so relaxed and turn into a completely different person and expect the relationship to last. Most love between two usually decreases over time rather than increase. Always try to remind yourself, if I am going to change make it be only change for the better. .

This is a very different approach with meeting Filipina in the Philippines. I’m glad you are both are in agreement. Men need guidance. 1) Respect, be patient, take your time. Have the right intentions for the Filipina girl. All will work out if you are patient. Oh and don’t sell everything until you gone to the Philippines and live there for At least six months. You will ask Leah some leading questions and she will hesitate to think about her answer, but often you keep on going without giving her room to answer or fully develop her response. Feel like I saw that several times. You were asking good questions, but not enough response time seems like. I mean that constructively so hope that is useful. Also question-I am reformed baptist-Calvinist side of things. How hard is it to find other denominations besides catholic in the islands? The quality of the church is much more important than the number of women! This should be obvious, but so many of our churches are hardly better than the culture around them; we need to be wary of superficiality - whether it’s in the culture or the church.

This is easy yet not so simple for me. I live in southeast Louisiana U.S.A. I am of Cajun/Creole culture. I am mostly Cajun French. In 1988 I met a beautiful younger black woman. For the LOVE of MONEY is the ROOT of ALL evil. Many error and forget who brought them through trial's and tribulation's. You see GOD used Mechelle to bring me closer to JESUS! I have heard almost every story in the book for reasons to send money to a girl you chat too. Being honest does not always work, I have told so many I am not rich and have to stick to a budget. Before I came here many would say I got have lots. I ended up telling them my expenses in peso so they would understand and they would still say oh you have lots you can send. I have so many blocked for this reason. There are certain sites that have video ads on UA-cam that start out with Filipinas love American men. What about Canadian or European men or any other nationality so I avoid those sites as I feel like the sites only want American men and discriminate against all othe men in the world. First of all lets start from the beginning...If a guy doesn't have a good heart than it makes no difference if he finds a good woman or not...these topics are Great but they must come with a Disclaimer that the Advice only works for someone willing to Love a Filipina. You are right but more often than not it is.. As my wife said it's ok to send money if you can easily afford it, understand the risks and know that you are basing the relationship on giving money instead of focusing on the more important things as you get to know this person.

It is only on account of our sinful confusion that we dismiss his advice (even ‘commands’). If I were looking for a wife from the Philippines, I would never even hazard a date unless I had met the woman in church! “By their fruit, you shall know them!” So why should we trust each other unless we show the obedience of being church members? Less than that shows levels of confusion! Secondly, trusting in sexual intimacy prior to marriage is totally crazy! It trusts in our own psychological strengths more than the Lord’s. As Gary emphasizes, time and talking are totally important. Talking reveals the soul! I would never marry based on premarital sex; but neither would I marry someone who couldn’t have a careful, mature talk about our future sexual relationship! Again, God created us to be verbal creatures. If we can talk about these things, it shows that we have healthy views of them.
