Fun little tip if you're tired of the medical look of your compression socks wear a very light weight knee high sock over it. Make sure to get something breathable so you aren't sweating and overheard
I took your advice about the Jobst compression socks and you were right! They are awesome! I struggled wearing others but the jobst were a dream. Thank you so much! You made having procedure s on my veins more tolerable. ❤️
Mine are by the brand Sockwell - I have 2 pairs of knee high and 2 pairs of crew (1 black 1 blue of each). The crews are technically designed for plantar fasciitis, but they work for me when I can't wear the knee highs for whatever reason (heat, activity, etc.). I can't go any firmer than 15-20, which is what my knee highs are, because otherwise my calves don't have enough room to flex properly, and even then, they aren't loose enough for me to do certain activities while wearing them (being nearly unable to do the activities that I specifically got the socks for in the first place kind of defeats the purpose); 15-20 is plenty tight enough for me for most activities, though, so it works. it's hard finding compression socks that fit me because I have wide calves but I'm short, so most knee high compression socks go way above my knee and end up very uncomfortably rolling down (I tried ones designed for wide calves, but all they were were way too long); for that reason, I won't buy knee highs (crews are different) unless I can try on the exact pair I'm getting in a store, because there is still variation, even within the same brand model, size, and color.
Thanks for this video, Aimee! I'm going to have to get a pair, especially for work! I was just diagnosed with POTS yesterday 😩. I had a feeling.. Getting my underlying issues treated by my Natropath, but seeing my doctor (MD) out of the same office (they work together), and treatments for the underlying causes are uncovering all of my other issues like POTS and MCAS. It's been one crazy ride. 🤪. I think I cried for an hour straight yesterday, after receiving the diagnosis. My Natropath warned me to not take on a 3rd day at work yet (even though i was feeling 80% better), and I should've listened to her. I crashed, and a huge MCAS and POTS flare popped up. Well, everything happens for a reason! I think I'm going to try the jobst socks, and go from there 😊. I appreciate all of your videos, Aimee! You are truly so kind and helpful ❤. So sorry for such a long comment 😆
I really wish i could knee highs!! 😫 unfortunately the blood just pools in my thighs so I have to wear full on pantyhose! They’re a PAINNN to put on! Ty for the fun review!! My go to is Sigvaris & Juzo Soft
I’ve worn truform compression socks for years. I like open toe year round so my feet don’t sweat so much. Then I put a light weight cotton sock over it to wear in sneakers, etc
I have POTS and wear pro compression a lot. I don't wear them every day, but I make the call based on the quality of my morning (which is eerily similar to your morning video lol). Their "marathon" socks are 20-30 mmhg. They don't have toe-less so jobst for that lol. But they work for well for me if it's not a bad bad day!
Curious have you tried Mediven plus compression wear? That’s what I’ve used and I feel it’s very good and high quality but expensive too. Although, these aren’t really socks they are more so stockings.
I was just officially diagnosed with POTS yesterday. The amount of different brands of compression socks and tightness levels is overwhelming! It’s hard to tell which ones are actually good for POTS because people in the reviews aren’t usually getting them for that reason. I was looking at the Wellow and copper fit brands like some people in the comments mentioned, I just don’t know. 😂 I have heat intolerance year round and have very sensitive skin I can hardly handle wearing anything besides pajamas because normal clothing feels too rough. Are the Jobst compression socks a little rough? You mentioned they feel like a pantyhose I’m worried that would bother me, and for the price I don’t want to get something I won’t wear.
mmHg=millimeter of Mercury. Sometimes, support stockings are called compression stockings, but they are different and do not offer same degree of compression.
Got some compression socks from Amazon, they were okay but nothing like the ones I got from my doctors. However, since starting using compression socks for weekends when I do 12 hours shift, legs don’t hurt as bad.
My dr recommended the thigh high 30-40 which minimize my symptoms better than knee highs that I started with. Guess I was lucky in that I chose tru form just based on Amazon description and reviews! I got toeless and had no problem with them rolling. I don’t wear them on easier stay at home days when I can sit or rest as needed, but for sure on cleaning-chores-errand days. Dr. also said another effective choice would be a Spanx type garment waist to thigh. Has anyone tried that?
Great review! I will look into the TruForm and Jobst knee highs. I do like Vim&Vigr but I only buy them when there is a good sale. Also, I prefer their moisture wick nylon in 20-30 because I'm also working with neuropathy. Compression that is 30-40 causes me too much pain. Also, I found Vim&Vigr's cotton line very irritating behind my knees. Another great option are the Mediven Sheer and Soft line.
I tried the same flower ones in the beginning and they were way to long and sucked the cheap cute ones I like to wear around my house Have you tried bum as compression I think they only go to 20-30 but would love to see what u think of those. Any sock type Probably will not Measure up to jobst but I ordered jobst and the chemical smell was so bad I don’t know if I could wash that out and I have chemical sensitivity so this is a problem for me so idk what to do I’m gonna start washing them over and over and hope the chemicals go away 😩
I won't lie, I've been overwhelmed by the world of compression socks. My doctor said I should get 30-40 mmHg and actually doubly recommended ones that go over my thighs. I have 20 mmHg from Walmart that go to my knee and its really not enough. I'm still getting bruising all over my legs and currently have one in my inner thigh, so I probably really should be getting the full on stockings that go over the hips
The doctor told me to get compression stockings but they are $80 and need custom fitting. She said socks won't help much but I want to try the socks now that I see they help some of us
Thanks for your video . I have lymphedema and need to wear compression socks. Like you I have a drawer full of socks that I either don't like or don't fit and am still trying to find the best for me😊
I don't need compression socks for any medical conditions. I use them to reduce pain from being on my feet all day. I went to a specialized medical supply shop. They mesured me and got me fitted with Sigvaris 191CB99 socks. 15-20mmHg. They work great. Probably very similar to Jobst. I think the other shop I might have gone to stocks Jobst. Sigvaris does make 30-40mmHg, if you're curious. I normally wear Darn Tough when I don't need compression socks. They are amazing. The only other compression sock that I have tried is copper fit. They are terrible IMO. Some other brands recommend to me were Wellow, Pro Compression, Apollo, and Clove. I have not tried any of these.
The Sigvaris are very different. I wear the 30-40 mmHg. The fiber/weave are much more substantial. While the fiber/weave supposedly lasts longer (according to my lymphadema therapist. They are her favorite), they are so constricting and hard to put on and take off (even with all of the donning accessories)!!! And I was professionally evaluated and measured, so it wasn't a sizing issue. Sigvaris are just built differently. If you have someone there 24/7 to help you put them on, take them off, and adjust them throughout the day, then they would probably be great. But I do not, so I stick with Jobst and after surgery I used Albahealth Ultracare Graduated Compression stockings.
Nice video but you fail to mention either Tommy Copper or Copperfit. I wear both. I can acquire either for $10 a pair. Comfortable fit with very satisfactory results. I've worn Jobst products and have no complaints. As for the high end over $50 a pair. . . really? I also share your sentiments over the open toe socks. They "ride" up the foot.
@@Aimee_Esther Actually "Tommy Copper": and "Copperfit" are two different brands but both offer a variety of products utilizing the elements of copper threads. Tommy Copper has been advertising their tee shirts, sleeves and compression socks for at least a decade. Their ads are everywhere. I started wearing their shirts for almost as long, followed by their socks. I still buy them. Both Tommy Copper and Copperfit socks are comfortable and affordable. I don't know about the "mmhg" for either. This data isn't on the Copperfit box. I just like what I have on. I have athritic knees and occasional swollen ankles from heavy construction work. These socks are well worth investigating IMO. Check 'em out.
all my compression socks are mourning socks I wear them because I mourn in pain however I just starting wearing them at night too Doctor says you're laying down so you don't need them HA ! I BEG TO DIFFER THEY HELP AT NIGHT ALOT TO THE POWER OF 10 I WEAR SIGVARIS BRAND THEY ARE $160.00 THIGH HIGH AND $140.00 KNEE HIGH
Hi thank you for this review!! I was wondering about vim and vigr… I have same issue with doc miller ones, both myself and my kid have had to go up sizes for that brand. I was wondering if you have tried absolute brand and juvo or other brands I think they tend to get expensive and I myself need plus size 😊
Got a pile myself. Mediven (navy and black), extra wide calf. My biggest issue with compression socks is they roll down causing marks and bruising were the roll down because of tightness. Tried roll on sticky stuff sometimes it works.
Can you write down all the names you said so we can read it ??? I have been battling cancer and I wear medi peds. I can’t find the thin ones any more. I have a blood clot and my ankles swell. Do the ones you said you liked the most feel like nylon and spandex?
My aunt, an ICU nurse, bought me a Cambivo 20-40 mmHg compression socks, and I really do find them effective, comfortable, with adequate compression every time I work. Try it out and do a review please thanks
How are you going with the true form socks? I have loads of trouble with cutting in behind my calves while getting tight enough compression around my ankle. I love my Jobst too, but I’m in the market for some new ones
…I’m young, diagnosed with POTS, and wear compression socks because my cardiologist prescribed them. My cardiologist approved wearing “OTC” compression socks because not only do they work, I actually wear them. Not everyone who needs them is older & at my age it’s not embarrassing to wear compression socks that other people think are normal socks.

You have provided a wonderful service to others... Navigating the world of compression socks❤
9:25 i’m looking for a pair of compression socks that aren’t too expensive, but that happens with the my softball sock when i played, really sucks.

Where’s the sigvaris or juzo brand review? They’re in top hospital DME stores. I’d love your input.
It took me awhile to figure out what compression socks were right for me.
What is your feedback on the ones with copper, like lulu lemon ones?
Could you wear the cute ones over the other ones and do like jobs but price is hard when on social security.
Have you tried Wellow or Bimbas?
Has anyone used mediven stockings? Need reviews on that.
How about Sigvaris?
Have you tried Bombas socks before? If yes please let me know how was your experience! Thank you
Nop you are right the jobst are the best !!!
I wished the blue worked 🙄🥺
Jobst is now $44 ridiculous
I know 😣 I just bought another set and they increased the prices.. so frustrating because I can hardly stand without them.
Where I live they are the equivalent of 80 USD :'(
I find the thigh ones are better for me. I swell up above socks and make my knees hurt!

Where are you from where pantyhose are referred to as pantyhoe?
You might be able to put the fun ones over ones that work if thats safe, idk if thatd mess with the compression or not
