There’s making a mistake and then there’s blatantly applying the rules incorrectly to hinder a team time and time again. Maybe, instead of idiotic defending of such decisions, referees should call it out before they’re completely replaced by foreign competent referees. Won’t be long until there’s a series of lawsuits against the PGMOL by clubs. VAR cannot be run by PGMOl, they’re incapable of using the technology correctly. You’re ruining the game.

The PGMOL definitely know how to spin a narrative don’t they? I’ve never known an organisation be exempt from criticism or think they’re beyond it like they do. I really hate football & have done for many years now.
I'm not condoning abuse in any way-I’m sure referees face a lot of it every week. However, it feels like PGMOL is using this as a distraction from addressing the real issues at hand.
They went for the wrong guy. This abuse needs to be directed towards Howard Webb who's allowed corruption and a decline in standards of refs. Someone needs to do him in instead of Oliver
This is a complete distraction and waste of time. Condemn the abuse as appropriate and discuss the comprehensive failure of referees in the best league
As long as the refs are making howlers constantly and won´t admit it, then the abuse will continue. Mike Dean were celebrating Spurs goals in several games, against Villa and Arsenal to name a couple, NOTHING was done! IF Michael Oliver is the best ref in England, then England should NOT have ANY refs in tournaments or the CL, cause they are simply not good enough!
Basically calling out a couple of people that made threats of twitter so that all the noise around what an awful decision it was gets drowned. Remain focus. english referees are corrupt
I’d like more discussion around the decision. VAR upheld the decision saying it was serious foul play. Most of us watching thought it was for the last man rule. So they told us no, it wasn’t that, it was serious foul play. Now if it was, I think there should have been at least 50 red cards last weekend. Can we have a discussion about what they mean by serious foul play?
The same challenge happened in the same game by a wolves player and he only got a yellow, it seems small but it’s painted a clear picture of what Oliver is about.
Is this joking when he says we need to stop over-talking about such incidents? He cannot blame the vile abuse aimed at Michael Oliver on pundits and the public analysing these mistakes. Ridiculous pointing the finger at the public. It's a huge mistake from a so called 'top referee' who has a record against Arsenal. Let the police handle the culprits and go sort out this mess of a referees buddy club.
When players get abuse, simon always say "they're well paid and its part of being a footballer" but its a different story for refs. Abuse is wrong but these refs do not answer to their mistakes and some of them are narcissists
The threat etc is uncalled for. But the level and quality of referees in the PL needs addressing. The aston villa vs west game was awful. That ref lost all control. Absolute disgrace
I whole heartedly condemn any form of abuse Ref Oliver received. Abuse or threats are despicable and shouldn’t have any place in the beautiful game. However, I wonder how Simon came to the conclusion Ref Oliver made a mistake. Did the referee say it was a mistake in the match report? Also, I believe referees going over to the monitor helps them earn the respect of most fans watching, and makes any resulting decisions appear more thought through. For me, referees going to the monitor shows their humanity, and paradoxically elevates their individual as well as collective integrity.
Oliver & Taylor are the worst. Every week, every big game they ''officiate'' there is an element of incompetency and corruption, especially with Oliver.
If the PGMOL actually just admitted mistakes rather than deflect and deny every single week that would go a long way to lowering the frustration of the fans.
The EPL is at a fever pitch right now, and refereeing is only adding fuel to the flames. I'm worried that the EPL might implode if this situation isn't handled better in the future. English Referees MUST be held accountable or simple outsource it to other countries with great referees.
All the abuse is completely wrong. However, characters like Oliver, dean, Taylor have narcissistic qualities that should be nowhere near the pitch
The decision was wrong. Oliver has a history of these decisions. 12 year olds should be monitored on the internet. Do you not understand this is a deflection? It’s the same deflection people always try.

Imagine trying to defend these incompetent referees when they just caught one of their Premier league refs blasted on gear ffs.
Wow the ego with this people 😢😢😢
Abuse is wrong but don't use it to deflect from referee incompetence
Wow I never thought I would be on Martin keowns side ever wow, if the ref union wasn't so blatant and two faced there wouldn't be so much abuse
This is exactly the response you’d hear from Martin from the PGMOL. Again it’s not taking accountability for your actions.
Martin is the only one speaking sense here. Rest of them are full of it.
Mate he has terrible record against United, Liverpool, and Arsenal. The only Team who doesn't have an issue with him is City. I wonder why?
@@liamjones9115 Abu Dhabi ?
The real disgrace is VAR upholding that decision and they also saying that it's correct later on after the match.
When players get abuse, simon always say "they're well paid and its part of being a footballer" but its a different story for refs.
Abuse is wrong but these refs do not answer to their mistakes and some of them are narcissists
PGMOL have to be dismantled. Before online abuse change to physical abuse.
Ref support??? 😂😂😅😅
Thank you Martin for calling these cheats out! Trying to spin it lol
Overturn the red card and move on !
The threat etc is uncalled for. But the level and quality of referees in the PL needs addressing. The aston villa vs west game was awful. That ref lost all control. Absolute disgrace
What a message on twitter is like GBH nowadays 😂
I whole heartedly condemn any form of abuse Ref Oliver received. Abuse or threats are despicable and shouldn’t have any place in the beautiful game. However, I wonder how Simon came to the conclusion Ref Oliver made a mistake. Did the referee say it was a mistake in the match report? Also, I believe referees going over to the monitor helps them earn the respect of most fans watching, and makes any resulting decisions appear more thought through. For me, referees going to the monitor shows their humanity, and paradoxically elevates their individual as well as collective integrity.
Arteta has fuelled this!
Fully agree, thankfully we have Arteta to stand up against these corrupt officials. Well said!
@@temperatemix8268 clown
@@T1039-y2n they are indeed clowns. Anyone supporting them are equally clowns. Another comment well said
“When a referee makes a mistake” when was the last time a referee admitted to making a mistake?! Get outta man
Well Said Martin Keown 👏👏👏 The others are speaking nonsense, just towing the line as they have been asked to
2 things can be true:
1 - There isnt a refereeing conspiracy
2 - VAR should have told him to look at the screen
Big respect to Martin Keown 👏👏👏👏
Let English Referees be fair and this abuse will not continue!
Is he saying It's the fans' fault for the refs being incompetent. 😂😂😂😂
“No matter what we do it keeps getting worse”
Nothing has changed within PGMOL.
Martin Keown is part of the problem, panel trying to disucss how to contain this anger, and Keown is asking OH WAS IT RED CARD.
Where's Arsenal fan UK support? We had to watch that madness
The EPL is at a fever pitch right now, and refereeing is only adding fuel to the flames. I'm worried that the EPL might implode if this situation isn't handled better in the future. English Referees MUST be held accountable or simple outsource it to other countries with great referees.
