This is quite an interesting layout. It's suitable for a vacation home but if I were to use this layout for a permanent home, I would: - add a deck around the home - change the receded front door to be in line with the walls, thus increasing internal space that can be used as a tiny hallway - add windows above the counter in the kitchen, to allow more natural light - remove the divider wall between the kitchen and the living room and change that to a breakfast counter - add a loft and shift the bedroom upstairs (the high ceiling affords this option) - change the bedroom to a study + studio and add a bookshelf divider between this section and the living room, which maintains the open concept - move the sink/vanity/slab in the bathroom to one side and add a glass partition right down the middle of the bathroom to separate the shower area - add a couple more skylights
DJ… I agree w ur suggestions, incl. loft/bdrm, esp for younger ppl. A partial wall w shelf for clothes + other needs would work 4 privacy at 1st Flr bdrm area (which is preferable for older ppl). I agree to section off bthrm so walls/floor stay dry during shower. Nice job on design.
I was absolutely shocked when I saw the amount of space inside this place!! The fully covering wood shingles does a great job hiding the large amount of house lying underneath. And then, such a warm, clean, comfortable space inside!!! I think I'm in love
Cedar? Seems natural, it’s also very good kindling for fires. It has frequently amazed me how popular cedar shingles and siding is in California creosote bush country…and the afterwards…they build the same darn cedar sided buildings again. Also of interest, if you build a house on pilings, be aware that critters will come to share your shade/food/and in winter, your warmth with you. Been there, done that. Skirting of some sort prevents cold air from chilling floors in the winter, so why not build it right in to begin with, unless cooling the house is more important in your area.
Stem wall construction is best. Concrete not elevated can create a very damp house. In Florida for over 50 years and it definitely makes for a nice dry home.
I love it. What I would change? I would add a small divider from the "hallway" along the edge of the bedroom space and perhaps add some storage shelves within it. Also, in the bathroom, another divider to separate the sink from the shower. I just imagine having to wash my hands and the floor is still damp or wet from the shower. Otherwise, it is absolutely beautiful!
i agree with the divider for the bed - Just something to give you a cozy bedroom feel. Maybe a Japanese screen? The bathroom doesn't need a full divider either - one of those 6 inch high bumps and a curtain would do the job or even a half wall. That would still allow for the space to be fully open when not in use! Could also do a raised bamboo walk way by the sink, that would allow water to go below the walkway without any construction changes.
Oh, I would love to have this type of living space on our property, and definitely would do anything for similar interior design for our home here in Vermont. Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous.
Hey, love the colors not so much the design. As an airbnb user for more than 10 years, I miss the dinning spacewhere I can enjoy my dishes made in that beautiful kitchen. The shower/ bathroom is big but not practical , I havent seen a curtain so as I take a shower all my bathroom and items will get wet??? Thanks Levi for all the work you put into theses videos, great job filming and showing beatutiful places. God Bless. : ) , greetings from Spain. come to see us anytime, Costa Brava is amazing!
I sent this video t my sister and said...' Here is my house / home. I have found it and it is so warm and beautiful. Her 1st comment...Where are the closets ??? I was crushed !
off grid! that's great. since others are chiming in, I'll add my 2 cents. I'd flip the kitchen so that the cabinets are on the living room wall. I'd put some sliding doors between so you can open it up if you want. I'd put glass wall above the shelf. how's that for Scandinavian? everything else is perfect!
I remember when this "hut" was built by two brothers on family owned land on the series "Building Off the Grid" on DIY Network some years ago. DIY Network is now owned by Magnolia. I have access to DIY Network on Magnolia through the Discovery+ streaming service and "Building Off the Grid" is still offered by that streaming service, but it may also be available through other streaming services or on cable. Well worth watching it go up from scratch, and learn a little bit about the story of the family and the land they've lived on for generations in Ohio.
I like how your voice feels to my ears like music...very relaxing and soothing. Love listening to every word you say. Great video. Thank you for sharing, @Levi!! Stay blessed!!
yes I like how feels too, to my ears 🦻 that means we are on the same page here. I believe you are a smart 🤓 woman and besides you worth talking with. How're you doing today Mari.!!
Gorgeous space! Aesthetically and environmentally perfect! This is all we need, even with one child, we don't need huge monstrosities, knowing what the state of the planet is now...
Very cozy & functional for a single guy as a year around home also.. 600 square ft. Is more than adequate if there is some attic space of which I did see a ladder in that storage area leading to bath.
Looks beautiful but I would be concerned with long term maintenance and shingle replacement. I would have expected at least a decent copper flashing at the top edge of the wall shingles. There is a reason for roof overhangs and eavestrough..
The way they separated the bdrm. and LR space makes the hut look so much more spacious. I would so live in this with my 2 dogs comfortably. Out of all the tiny homes I have looked at this is my favorite. I am slowly saving up money to get me something like this. If you watch your pennies and look for bargains you can purchase things for it and make it look nice. LOVE THIS....
This build was on one of the HGTV shows a while back. It was an impressive build and interesting to hear what the brothers were thinking when they built it.
Funnily enough not my favourite - would have preferred kitchen in the main room and bedroom separate- not a fan of bed in the main space. It’s unusual and beautifully curated none the less. Where would it sleep 4?
People who actually live in Ohio : "I bet that thing is cold AF in the winter being "off grid" and built up off the ground." It's going to be 3° this weekend at night here. Good luck.
The interior is well done ( light colors and great use of space), especially the back windows they are amazing. The outside is not so appealing , it looks like a pointed box on crates when you drive up. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 🤔
Place looks amazing. Sorry for late reply Levi. Plumber I hired was yelling at me for no reason and broke his contract. Went to home depot to cancel my order as he was to do a walk in shower. Not anymore so will do something different. Anyway had chest pain and also was to close to a dog and went into Anaphylaxis shock. Rushed to hospital and stayed overnight. It was hard to get me to right level and could not talk. Way to many drugs and they never called medic alert. Till I got to the hospital and even then they did not print out my medic alert history. Take care. Cheers.!
Where does one place all the equipment one brings? To use the kitchen, one must do a lot of back and forth traveling. The front should have a view so one can see visitors coming. The toilet will get wet being next to the shower. Curtains for the dark before sleep -otherwise, every little creature will be trying to get in until the lights go off. This is a great ‘show piece’, but …
It's hidious. The roof pitch + no soffits/gutters + heavy wet snow = a friggin' mess. Incredible barbie country cabin but totally impractical as a real home...
Love it, but would have done the bathroom a little different. Maybe provide some (glass?) separation so the toilet doesn't get wet after someone showers?
Nice enough inside - really nice - however, the fact there is only one door to the outside causes me to feel like it is claustrophobic - why oh why on earth is there not a deck of that huge glass panel and there is only two smaller windows on either side of the huge glass panel that can be opened - strange in my opinion.
It’s very pretty. I noticed there is no TV so i guess if you go here it’s really for peace and quiet. The outside doesn’t draw me in. The inside is beautiful however.
No it won’t make it slippery with all the tile and they actually do these style of bathrooms In South Korea it makes the bathroom really efficient to use
I guess it comes down to taste.. Some like this style and some don't..the clean lines, the perfection of detail and actually it was to perfect that it sorta got cold...I didn't get that warm cozy feeling that a cabin usually brings...I prefer a more down to earth with little imperfections and lots of character...but with that being said this cabin is very nicely done...
Beautiful showplace set up is OK for a vacation cabin, but one would definitely need more built-in structures for storing out of sight the things needed for living.
Yes you're right.. means we're on the same page here LoL 😂 you seem to be a nice and smart woman besides you worth talking with. Hello Kate..!! how're you doing today friend.??😘🤗🤗🤗
Super nice. However, it might be nice to have some kind of awning (overhang) for the windows and doors to keep rain water out. Of course it doesn't fit with the saltbox austerity. Form over function.
Like the bathroom think the sink should be on the left- I am curious why they even have the wall between the kitchen and the other area. I also found it a little weird they added the skylight with all those windows. Guess it makes the lofted ceiling not feel so cave like. This is a weekend house Bring Deli food and pre done meals. a lovers getaway. Not sure why I am having such a negative feeling toward it- think it seems like its just like a dr who tardis randomly showing up- not relating no blending of the outside spaces with the inside. Those windows look like they wouldn't even open. It is pretty jsut not sure its a relaxing place.
I watched videos of this project! If I find them I'll link it here. It was a pain installing those windows from the owners that built this. Didn't know it was going to be a rental. Love the bathroom but don't like that it's an open shower where it all can get wet. Take care.
For the Scandinavian style, it is spot on. Easy to see why this hut won awards it is beautifully designed.
This is quite an interesting layout. It's suitable for a vacation home but if I were to use this layout for a permanent home, I would:

Wow!
I had the same ideas, too! 🏡🏞🌎🤗
Lol all of that are nonsense becuz this is just a airbnb cabin that's what cabin is
I was absolutely shocked when I saw the amount of space inside this place!! The fully covering wood shingles does a great job hiding the large amount of house lying underneath. And then, such a warm, clean, comfortable space inside!!! I think I'm in love
Imagine that place with that view in the fall with changing leaves 😍
Cedar? Seems natural, it’s also very good kindling for fires. Yes - every time I see a nice small house design, I try to imagine if it can be adapted to concrete block construction - on a slab, of course.
Stem wall construction is best. Concrete not elevated can create a very damp house. In Florida for over 50 years and it definitely makes for a nice dry home.
Externally it doesn’t look so architecturally artistic to me. The interior looks awesomely beautiful 😍
I love this little hut. Being off grid makes it all the better.

yes
How would the floor get wet from washing her hands in the sink?
You take a shower and the floor gets wet. 30 minutes later you use the toilet, but the floor is still wet. Too minimal for me.
I love the open room concept, with all the bright colours, the huge windows and the cozy feeling! Would be awesome to stay there!❤
A scone is something to eat. A sconce is a wall mounted light.
Love it, just need a glass separator between the shower and the toilet and then perfecto!
Oh, I would love to have this type of living space on our property, and definitely would do anything for similar interior design for our home here in Vermont. Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous.

Given this structure was professionally designed inside and out explains why it is so on point!
Ah finally an award winning house I can build in minecraft
Secluded, warm, stylish...perfect love cabin ❤️
If you don't plan on looking at the forest while you cook and wash up dishes 3 times a day or while you groom daily it's lovely.
I like how your voice feels to my ears like music...very relaxing and soothing. Love listening to every word you say. Great video. Thank you for sharing, @Levi!! Stay blessed!!

Window wall is AWESOME!
The interior is just beautiful!
What a beautiful and oeaceful setting. A great getaway cabin.

The ladder is for hanging towels.
Could live in something like that forever. Especially placed on a lake or in the woods. Yes!
Looks beautiful but I would be concerned with long term maintenance and shingle replacement. I would have expected at least a decent copper flashing at the top edge of the wall shingles. There is a reason for roof overhangs and eavestrough..

What a lovely tiny home. It looks very inviting nestled in a great spot. 🥰💙
This build was on one of the HGTV shows a while back. It was an impressive build and interesting to hear what the brothers were thinking when they built it.
My dream.. The 600 ft., the shower in bthrm. Altho mine had windows all around, but this floor to ceiling but just on one side a keeper.
I like the style. It would be a fun cabin to build.
Funnily enough not my favourite - would have preferred kitchen in the main room and bedroom separate- not a fan of bed in the main space. It’s unusual and beautifully curated none the less. Where would it sleep 4?

Big fan of the SCONE LIGHTS!
thank you for a peaceful example....
let's hope it stays that way.
All OHIO friends.
hey just in case of fire...does the fire department know about you or your location?
The AIA appears easily impressed
The interior is well done ( light colors and great use of space), especially the back windows they are amazing. The outside is not so appealing , it looks like a pointed box on crates when you drive up. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 🤔
I agree, not very attractive on the outside, but the beautiful interior makes up for that.
I like it. I would have opened up the kitchen to the living room with a bar area with shelving above maybe.....for entertaining....
Absolutely beautiful. Good job Levi. Hope Savannah and Weston are doing great. Have a great weekend. 😁

This can be a full time residence for a couple.....great find Levi 👍
Always love a skylight! Lovely property
Hello Kiwi.!!! how're you doing today friend??🤗🤗🤗🤗
Just spent a week in eastern 🇨🇦 (Quebec) and this house would be perfect in this region ! Awesome channel
Cheers from San Diego California
Agreed!
It is so beautiful and cozy.😍
In the process of buying a small bungalow, Needs completely redoing, and I will be styling it off this
LOVE your videos!!! Always look forward to them THANKYOU!

Incredible barbie country cabin but totally impractical as a real home...
Yikes😳 anything Positive to say?..🙄
This thing is just all form over function, though it doesn’t have that much form either.
The bathroom is like European bathrooms I used on tour years ago. Only much larger.
One should not visit this place if thy find so much trouble with it
Lovely cozy space
I love all your videos. Everything sbout them is amazing and greatly done. I wish I lived in your country..
Gorgeous architecture and interior design!!
Yes you're right friend. you seem to be a nice and smart woman. how're you doing today friend??🤗
So beautiful
Yes you're right.. you seem to be a nice and a smart woman I love it. Hello Pam..!! how are you today friend?
Wow great house
Looks great, especially surprised by the space inside.
Love it, but would have done the bathroom a little different. Maybe provide some (glass?) separation so the toilet doesn't get wet after someone showers?
If the tour rocks, there's probably an award-winning home, and a great guide, in cool socks. 3:16 6:39
So unique and I love it‼️🎄🎄👏👏👏♥️♥️♥️🌟🌟🌟🎄🎄🎄🎄‼️
Levi is the Bomb 💣
wish you could cover more on the off grid systems. water, electric, sewer etc. 🙂

Sliding door at the back would be a nice touch..
The interior is really beautiful, but wouldn’t it have been nice to have had a deck to be able to step outside and enjoy the natural wooded area?
I can see why it's a winner!
It’s very pretty. I noticed there is no TV so i guess if you go here it’s really for peace and quiet. The outside doesn’t draw me in. The inside is beautiful however.
Nice! I would certainly make it an open floor plan where the kitchen is opened to the living room.
Hmm you're right 👍..
How're you doing today friend??🤗🤗😘
Looks pretty cool! 😀
Lovely look! I would have to enhance the kitchen quite a bit though. I like to cook and of course eat! As a Air BnB though it is perfect,
I like how you show the floor more now.
Nice place.
It is GREAT....
Love love love this
Hello Ten Costa..!! how're you doing Friend??
Would have loved to see how the inner workings are put together for the water, electricity, waste, etc since it is off the grid. Particularly water.
I liked the canva with Cafés do Brasil wrote in it, I'm from Rio de Janeiro.
Absolutely fabulous and design and cozy home i know i will enjoy when i visit. Thanks Levi for the tour.👏👏👏🙂
Wouldn't all that tile make the bathroom floor slippery since it's an open style shower?
I do like the open living space and large window view.
I was wondering this myself. 🤔
No it won’t make it slippery with all the tile and they actually do these style of bathrooms In South Korea it makes the bathroom really efficient to use
GREAT JOB MY BROTHER!!LOVE
I love it. Would be easy to keep clean as everything is in the open so you can't have a lot of junk around.
Love this home. 😊
Yes you're right 👍.
I love this home too. Hello Lisa.!! how're you doing today friend??🤗🤗🤗😘😘

Nice weekend get away home. Just enough, not too much.
Remarkable 👏👏👍👍
That place is beautiful. Love your style of presentation. You do an awesome job.
Awesome video and built
Super nice. However, it might be nice to have some kind of awning (overhang) for the windows and doors to keep rain water out. Of course it doesn't fit with the saltbox austerity. Form over function.
I love this. God bless your channel & your family 🙏
Super nice! Looks very cozy
Stunning place & nicely designed/decorated rental.
It’s gorgeous and booked up until March 2023 😳😳
I would have to have a covered porch / deck somewhere on the cabin.
Love the open floor plan.
That's how bathrooms are in some parts of Mexico. What a beautiful everything.

why seperate the ktichen from the main space? Would open the space up if that dividing wall was removed

Crazy comb-over toupee
Well done. Love the wood planked ceilings.
Brilliant and beautiful! Thanks for sharing! xoxo
fantastic!
