Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

I love how the college kids are so used to Jimmy's shenanigans that when it's obvious they are getting into the darker gray realm of legality, they just act like it's no big deal
As long as Jimmy pays them, they're fine.
They were just helping an actor get into costume, I see nothing wrong
Breaking Bad was about how garbage the US healthcare system is (and US culture of rUgGeD iNdiViDuAlIsM) that someone working a crucial full-time job couldn't afford getting sick.
Better Call Saul is actually about how garbage the US higher education system that students need to be accomplices to a criminal in order to pay for their studies. It's the film students who are the main characters, we've been bamboozled again. Bravo Vince!
The show likes to sprinkle in comedic relief characters even though Saul himself was the comedic relief of Breaking Bad.
They can easily escape. I don't think Saul told them why they r doing it
It's so terrible how Slippin Kimmy took advantage of Jimmy, who worked his way up from the mail room to become a good lawyer.
Here's what I'm lost on. When Howard initially hired the PI. Did Jimmy know he was going out of his way to hire, and was he already one of Jimmy's guys and had him on standby for Howard to hire
@@victortellez6138It was Jimmy's fake PI...
You think this is bad? This? This chicanery?.... She's done worse!
@@victortellez6138 Lol it's literally explained by Howard. Jimmy and Kim called Howard's secretary saying the PI agency's number changed. Gullible enough, she believed. Howard called and it's already the fake PI they set up. That's how Howard got Jimmy's guy
Kim's Floridian Sunroof
It’s crazy how determined they were to do this. Saul getting so upset when the plan almost failed, you’d think they were saving the world or something. But no, they’re just hell bent on ruining a man’s life for fun.
Yeah it's amazing how some people really do go to these types of lengths to do just that
Not for no reason. They wanted the settlement money for the Sandpipah case
Yeah it’s for fun but also to get the Sandpiper case settled, so the old residents can actually use the money they’re entitled to while they’re still alive
@@mr.fandango6223 yea is pretty sick that the law firm representing sandpiper was dragging it out as long as possible for the residents to die off before payout.
@@PaniekzaaiertjeWell, that's one of the reasons Saul and Kim would use to ease their moral dialogue, but really it was just about ruining Howards life
The moment I saw jimmy hand the envelope to Howard’s PI was mindblowing
Jimmys 12 steps ahead
1:55 This is the moment Vince Gilligan became Quentin Tarantino
Bravo Quince
Underrated
Without be ultra explícit.
Shout out to the make up girl for showing up outdoor in full elf costume under the sun and starts working like it's no big deal. The wig alone would have had me sweating like faucet.
cant believe they got grimes to act in a BCS episode
“The plot thickens, this changes everything!”
"It changes nothing."
If Kim had just gone to her new job, she and Jimmy would still be together.
Nah, their separation is inevitable. Jimmy is a lost cause anyway.
If Chuck had put his ego aside and given Jimmy a chance as an associate at HHM, then they'd still be together and Chuck and Howard would still be alive.
And if all that had happened then you wouldn’t have a show or the background to breaking bad so I think the director of the show did the right thing
Yes, if the characters had made different decisions the show would have gone differently
Did you watch the show? If it wasn’t this, it would be something else, they wouldn’t have let up and probably would have spiraled deeper into their antics. One way or another, they were destined to reach a breaking point.
_You can't rush the process_ is exactly what Better Call Saul was about.
It was actually more about rushing the process
The fact that they went through a lot of work just to pull something truly terrible...
what are they doing in the video, for what?
I like the parallel shot between slipping jimmy and kimmy moving fast and the film student just being all slow and casual and for him it is just another day.
A fender bender accident at the end would have derailed the entire plan. I miss shows like this so much.
What, Better Call Saul, a recent show lol?
They don't make em like they used to 😂

I’m sure Howard, Kim, and Jimmy will all share a big laugh over this harmless prank.
I like how Kim leaving her shoes behind is repeated when Lalo sends her to distract Gus and she also almost leaves her shoes behind
There’s a story to this that explains her character but I forgot the details iirc it’s about her upbringing between Nebraska and whatnot

BCS writers to audience: Can't rush the process
Haha, true.
“Aces on the foliage” what an underrated line

You mean Kim bro
@@schizvoid8774 Saul is directing this
@@TopicalEssaydid you even watch the scene. saul is acting in it and kim is clearly directing.

@@johnny-vu6rl well yeah but Saul is like co-directing and it's her feet we're seeing. And in Tarantino movies you don't see his feet. You see Uma Thurman's feet. Also the people I see helping are Saul's film crew that we see everytime he is filming and he always directs them. All added up I can confidently say that Saul Goodman has become Quentin Tarantino
how fast i run in my dreams: 4:26
I was so excited John Ennis was in this! Fun fact he's the father of Erin's actress
I remember thinking that this show would be boring without Walt.
How, wrong, could I have been?
I think maybe even better, which isn't easy.
I really did not like prequels, rarely liked spin-offs. I kept an eye on this only because it sounded like a funny comedy and I thought it'd be like a series of short criminal cases.
Instead we got a show that matched if not surpassed Breaking Bad for one of the most perfect 11 seasons of TV ever created. It's crazy to think in the whole series run, the weakest season is probably season 2 of Breaking Bad and even that was like 90% gold.
1 and 2 of BCS were boring for me, 3 was good and 4+ is were it was equal to and maybe even better than BB
I don't know how many times i've watched this episode when howards gets his pupils dilated, just a master piece haha
It's funny how I did not notice that slipping kimmy was wearing a shiny shirt just like Saul. I don't know how I missed this, I guess I was too invested in figuring out what the plan was... It's a little detail but it really shows how deep kim was in this
I could watch a whole series of Jimmy and Kim just planning these long cons. Such amazing writing:)
Incredible writing and directing of Saul Goodman. It's these things that make this show so impeccable. Bravo Saul!
Kim looked absolutely hot in this scene
She did in plenty of scenes.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
By that, I mean to say I’ve never found Kim that attractive. Personal taste and all that.
Bros down bad
@@vm141789 Nobody asked. Anybody with half working eyes agrees that Kim is smoking hot. And who were the 4 idiots that liked this idiotic comment?
@@zivcontraBros speaking facts. BrO.
Music is fantastic, WOW!
Amazing cinematography. I love the circular camera movements.
I see no dolly track so I assume that was done with a steadicam or some sort of gimbal (maybe a mix of the two for the tighter shots).
Whoever made that call was a genius.
You saw no dolly track? Wow! And here I thought they would have left that in the shot for the whole audience to see
Who else was wondering about the elf cosplay?
She said she just came from a play rehearsal.
She's Kira, the Gelfling.
What a great set up. Perfect.
So messed up what they did to Howard! Ugh!
What do you mean “they”? Jimmy did this alone. Kim is innocent.
@@nont18411 lol what? Kim was equally as guilty as Jimmy by the end, she joined in on the gaslighting and tearing down of Howard
@@JJ_SDWR You know I’m being sarcastic.
@@nont18411 your sarcasm is completely off topic here
I feel like howard had it coming, don't know why
The biggest scam that this show successfully did to the audience is convincing them that the real innocent victim in this whole thing is Kim, not Howard. And by the end of the story, she is a hero, not a criminal.
By the end of the show you hate Kim and feel terrible for Howard, the exact opposite of how it starts
@@JJ_SDWR Nope, I still see the majority of fans happy with how Jimmy took the blames for Kim so that she never got in jail or sued by Cheryl so yeah, they still see her as a heroic person.
Your wrong
@@nont18411I thought Kim was still liable to a civil suit by Cheryl, with Jimmy's testimony not having any effect on it. He did it for his and Kim's peace of mind, not for any material benefit for Kim. (Not to nitpick on a comment focused on an unrelated point, but y'know.)
@@nont18411Jimmy was the lesser evil of the two given it took him a lot more convincing
People also think Kim had some guilt relief after she quite the law and Jimmy but no it shouldn’t take Howard literally getting killed to realise she was wrong

Dude's right you can't rush the process; a photographic print needs 80 seconds under the fixer to keep its development
I could watch Kim run back and forth all day.

I actually wanted all their plans to sabotage howard to go wrong somehow. Normally with scenes like this you’re anxious that they’ll get caught, but I was anxious that they weren’t going to get caught.
feet.
How did the photos change?
Howard’s PI switched them. He was working for Saul the whole time pretending to be Howard’s PI.
This was the exact moment Kim became Michael Bay
So entertaining that it's easy to overlook a serious flaw here: This is way more public than it needs to be. Even back then, flip phones took pictures that people sent one another. Easy to have this whole ruse exposed, and then bad mojo to ensue. Jimmy & Kim woulda done this as secretly as possible, going out into the park only for the needed last moments. Cheap chicanery works only if very sneaky.
Is it bad that I kinda wanted a conclusion with the college kids?
criminal couples are so romantic and lovely. i wish i could find a partner in crime.
...yeah would be amazing

Do you need to watch breaking bad to understand BCS?
I havent watch both of them but from the clips i watch i wanted BCS more than breaking bad
that's the awesome part, you don't need to watch BB! it is pretty cool to watch BB first tho, cause some things are kinda spoiled (very small things tho). Plus, by watching BB first, you KNOW who Saul is, so BCS shows you the process of Jimmy becoming Saul.
tldr: defo watch BCS. BB is a nice add-on, but not necessary
This is the moment Kim Wexler became barefoot.
The almost car accident goes to show Jimmy causes trouble to everyone around him
It also shows just how easy the entire plan could collapse. A slight fender bender and the pictures don't get where they need to be in time.
elaborate - oh, and Rhea Seehorn is Babelicious
Those theater students were the biggest enablers Jimmy/Saul had. I wonder if they feel bad once they saw the news about Saul and his crimes
I mean… hell of a advertisement “I was the cameraman for a lot of Saul goodmans scams”
Jimmy was supporting the dreams of alberquerques youth and keeping them away from gangs how dare you
They went through all that trouble to destroy Howard's life
And they did pay the price
what was the liquid they placed on the photos?
That's how photos were developed before things went mostly digital.
Although, classic photography can still take waaay higher resolution photos than digital. That's why it's still frequently used by spy planes and such.
@@Dubanx I know they dip and then hang to print photos. But in the end sal dropped some droplets on pics. I am curious about those droplets, as even the pics developer asked what is this.
@@ali75988The drops are the substance they got from the vet in the previous episode that dilates Howard’s pupils and raises his heart rate, making it seem like he’s on drugs

the show makes you cheer for these folks until they make you feel like a cruel person... when that happens to Howard in the last season
If you were cheering them on before that, you might be human garbage anyway.
Seeing Wexler so eager and involved to tear down an honest individual feels so out of place. Even If I know the show well
its funny when kim takes her shoes off her socks are already dirty because its probably not the first take
… all this effort to mess with Howard.
Poor Howard.
once you know how it ended it looks way less funny
And all of this ended in what? =(
Howard's career being utterly destroyed.
That scenes means zero to me without context.
Then watch the show 🤯
No. It should be in the description.
I would love a soft core program with Kim Wexler
This has to be after Jimmy saw judge Casimiro at the liquor store and this was, according to what Casimiro himself will say to Howard, after he arrived in town at 10:30, stopped at a petrol station and then went to the liquor store. Plus the time to convince, dress and plaster the fake Casimiro, which means the scene was recorded around noon.
However, Howard says to Casimiro that he was seen and photographed getting the envelope at the park around 7 AM.
The shadows and the light would have been very different, which would have immediately called the bluff.
There are three rules of Breaking Bad universe.
1. Chuck is always right.
2. Todd did nothing wrong.
3. Kim is a blameless victim of Jimmy’s tyranny. She has nothing to do with Howard’s death.
Well she doesn’t. Lalo killed him, thats not Kim’s fault
@@oldscoolest Howard being in the room at that time was Kim’s fault

Now they are doing this, cuz they do not like Mr hamlin. It's funny that the show never tells you that but you should know
