From Season 5, Episode 2 '50% Off' - Jimmy's promotional stunt has unintended consequences; Nacho takes extreme measures to earn Lalo's trust; Saul is a success at the courthouse but still has yet to win Kim over; simmering with rage and self-loathing, Mike loses his temper.

Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

At 3:30 Saul says "fourteen months jail" and she says "sixteen." That seems only incrementally worse but could be significantly worse. Here in Florida, the max sentence you can still serve in a local county jail is twelve months. Beyond that, it's the state penitentiary, a place you don't want to go. A lot of people who can't make bail have already served a couple months in County awaiting their trial or outcome, which is taken into account. So a fourteen vs sixteen month sentence could mean the difference between jail and prison.

He also caught a guy in a lie by mentioning exactly when the Chicago Cubs put lights for night games at Wrigley Field. Walt’s pop culture references are less entertainment and more scholarly, like the Heisenberg name he chooses, talking about the Phoenix Mars Lander, the Tenerife 1977 airport disaster, etc.

I was at one time a University Campus Cop and I was riding in an Elevator with the Head of Campus Security and I asked him “how often the Emergency Telephones were checked”.
He said “Line Testing was in the Elevator Maintenance Contract”.
To which I responded “Line Testing isn’t the same as checking that Elevator Emergency Telephones were connected to the Security Centre”.
That night a University Professor boarded an Elevator in one of over 20 University Buildings, just before 11:30 p.m. (some Two Hours after Security had run their last “in Building” Security sweep) and the Elevator stopped between the 5th and 4th Floors.
The University Professor when using the Elevator Emergency Telephone discovered that it was connected to an Answering Machine, upon which in the coming hours, he left messages with a more and more Frantic Tone.
At about 7 a.m., a Campus Cop discovered his uncomfortable circumstance (over 7 Hours trapped).
At 8.30 a.m., the University Professor was finally released from his Metal Coffin (his words).
At 10 a.m., a University Professor from the Psychology Department rang the Security Centre in an absolute panic, because his Answering Machine was full of Frantic Messages from a man trapped in an Elevator. Unfortunately the Psychology Professor didn’t know which Elevator, nor which Building.
Following that incident, Campus Cops were instructed to Check Elevator Emergency Telephones frequently by actually using them.
