BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan translates to Bullet Proof Boy Scouts. 6 of them are still in Military Service for South Korea. Their personalities aside from their talents are what made ARMYs (BTS fans) fall in love with them. They do a lot of different genres not just pop. Jimin is the one with the high voice and dangling earrings. 🙂. It is quite possible to have heard that song before since it was quite popular. There was definitely a Michael Jackson influence. They have a Tiny Desk (Home) mini concert from 2020 with three songs including Dynamite. They also have a medley of Bside songs about 10-11 min long that also was during the pandemic-Festa 2021. These guys debuted in 2013. They have been focusing on solo stuff recently, but the group will be together again in 2025. 3 rappers- RM, Suga, and JHope 4 vocalists- Jungkook, Jin, V, and Jimin All are extremely talented. 🙂

Welcome to BTS! I love your reactions!! I am 73 years old and have been part of the BTS ARMY since 2018. There is so much to discover - you will literally never run out of BTS content - well, almost never! If you want to get to know their back story and who each member is I highly recommend the video A Guide to BTS Members: the Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari. Most of their songs are a mix of English and Korean, but you should check out their two other English pop songs, Butter and Permission to Dance. You can watch the official MVs or, do like you did for Dynamite, and watch a live performance. For Butter I would suggest their performance at the Grammy Awards. For Permision to Dance, I suggest their performance at the UN. They are all currently doing their mandatory military service ( except Jin has finished and is back). Hi, I'm a 37 year old ARMY, I want to tell a little story that might be a bit strange, I used to know BTS but didn't follow them, a few years ago I was going through a very difficult time, I had very severe depression and I wanted to commit suicide several times, because I felt the world was unfair to me and happiness felt far from me, then I found REELS on youtube there was a song BLUE & GREY with its translation, I felt that the song represented me at that time, then I found out the singer and found BTS, then I tried to search again and found ZERO O'CLOCK, for some reason those songs made me feel very calm at that time, then I found out more about them and found the words of RM (LEADER BTS) "when we feel sad they want to make the sadness less even if only 1% or 2%" and that's what I felt, maybe some people when I tell stories like this think that it doesn't make sense or is a lie, but that's what happened to me at that time, the more I get to know them the more I think that I am grateful for myself, I appreciate my life more and make my life happier than before

Eu faço parte dessa grande parcela de fãs que descobriu amparo, ajuda ou apoio de alguma forma através de suas músicas, mensagens, lutas e conquistas. Fiquei viúva após um acidente de trânsito onde um caminhão avançou na contramão, bateu em nosso carro e meu marido morreu na hora. Isso aconteceu depois de um relacionamento de quase 23 anos e eu estava entrando em um processo depressivo. Não tivemos filhos e meu marido representava tudo para mim, ele era meu amigo, meu amante, meu amor, meu pai, meu irmão, trabalhávamos juntos, um verdadeiro companheiro de caminhada. Não consigo falar de momentos importantes da minha vida em que ele não tenha feito parte e sua ausência deixou um enorme vazio. Me vi completamente perdida e desorientada, como se a melhor parte de mim também tivesse morrido com ele. Por acaso, para me distrair, minha mãe (que já era fã do BTS e "apaixonada" pelo Jimin) me mostrou uma performance de um dos shows do BTS. Não sei explicar exatamente, mas toda aquela energia me tocou profundamente. A partir daquele momento, todas as vezes que eu ouvia suas músicas ou assistia seus vídeos, de alguma forma me conectava e me identificava com suas mensagens. O BTS se tornou para mim uma espécie de modelo de otimismo, me transmitindo força e amor. I love you both! I am 60 and found them in 2019 and just wait until you see their little variety show called RUN BTS, it is sooooo much fun. American ARMY here, and I've loved and supported BTS since I discovered them in 2017 (though they've been around since 2013) My first exposure to them was the song and music video "MIC Drop" - and I reacted just like the mum here, my mind was blown and I needed to hear/see MORE MORE MORE I didn't understand a lick of Korean back then and I hated hip-hop/rap music, but "MIC Drop" completely changed my mind about everything I thought I knew and liked I'm looking forward to following your journey into BTS and my recommendation to you for your next BTS song/ music video is "Black Swan", which is a slower, neo-R&B song PLEASE turn on English subtitles for it, because it is in Korean and the lyrics are really deep and beautiful... The group sings about their fear of losing their passion for making music, likening that moment to "dying their first death" which is based on a famous quote by dancer Martha Graham

I’m delighted with your reaction and enthusiasm, especially Mother! I like how you recognised immediately that this band is special. They most definitely are. Like you, my introduction to them was this song Dynamite and I was smitten after seeing their live stage of it. Butter is another of their all English songs. It has a scene early on in the music video where the 7 BTS members are posing for a mug shot . You can pause on this scene and see each of the members names and ages. BTS sing mostly in their native Korean but also have albums in Japanese. Since 2020, in a quest to constantly evolve, they began releasing more songs in all English. They chose these English songs for the universal appeal during those bleak pandemic days. As a newcomer I surprised myself by getting so immersed in their Korean and Japanese songs, probably because of the way BTS are able to convey emotion through their vocal delivery. Their choreography is not only top notch and perfectly executed but also helps impart the vibe of the song. You have a great journey ahead of you ladies. The one in white is V (voted most handsome man in the world for several years).. Right now all but one are still in the Korean Army for their mandatory service. When I first saw this video on Tues Aug 25, 2020 @ 5:30PM EST (yes I know the exact moment in time), it was like I had been struck by lightning. My daughter had been a fan for a few years prior to that, and she sent me a text and said Hey Mom, BTS has a new song out called Dynamite ~ you should really check out their video. So, before I left work that day, I watched it. I fell so hard for these guys based on just that one song, I still can’t believe it. I now think of my life in 2 parts: Before BTS and After BTS. These 7 guys are TRULY incredible!!! Let me give you some video suggestions: Butter, Permission to Dance, Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears, Idol, Boy with Luv, Mic Drop, Dope, Fake Love, Danger, Fire, Boy with Luv (ft. Halsey), Anpanman (from the Today Show Concert Series), and the Baepsae (Silver Spoon) dance practice. The youngest member, Jungkook, has some amazing solo songs, such as Seven, 3D, and Standing Next to You (major Michael Jackson influence on that last song). Another member, Jimin, has some awesome solo songs too, including Like Crazy and Who. You guys really need to set aside some time, sit back, and let BTS amaze you. You will be fans for life. I love their music and the lyrics of their songs which relate to all types, gender, age of people you name it. Their music heals people as they said BTS will find you or you will find them like for me my experience was I was recovering from my lung surgery 3 years ago then I fell into that rabbit hole and I never regret being a part of the huge fandom. There are 7 members of BTS. They began in 2013, so there is a massive back catalogue of music for you to explore. BTS is not like pop bands we have in the west, they started as a hiphop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. A lot of their best music is in Korean, so just put your subtitles on as the lyrics are very meaningful. They write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love. The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely skilled and experienced. They are amazing dancers also, Jimin being one of the main ones. They are all undertaking mandatory military service in South Korea at the moment (apart from Jin, who has just been discharged). They undertook solo projects just before they enlisted, but will be back together as a group mid 2025, when they all have finished military. While they are in the military they can't do anything else, or even promote their music, so they prepared lots of music for release throughout the 1.5 years of their military service (their record company can release it if it was produced before enlistment, but they can't promote it themselves). BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 90 million people of all ages as fans from young to older (I am 62). They sell out stadiums worldwide now as the biggest group in the world currently. Their last tour covered about 17 cities in 10 different countries, including Wembley. All sold out really quickly. If you want to really see how diverse and talented they are, try a few of their korean songs after you have watched the other two english ones. Dynamite was made during covid to cheer their fans up, but became a worldwide chart topping track. They also made two other songs in english around the same time: Butter and Permission to Dance. The 3 english songs are poppy and cheerful, but the korean ones are amazing and I prefer them. Some MV's to start: Black Swan, Mic Drop, Fake Love, Idol, DNA, On Kinetic Manifesto, Dope, Fire, Not Today, Airplane pt 2, Save Me. They also produce dance practice videos, which really show off their amazing skills in this area and are known for their complex choreography. Because they started in a small record company and were not given many opportunities to promote themselves on shows etc. (in South Korea there are 3 big companies that have the monopoly), they started making their own online content where they took on challenges, called Run BTS. They also have shows where they went on holiday together. From these you can see that they are all close, like family, but also they are extremely funny and genuine men. Most famous band in the universe that many western countries are unaware of them even though they have an international huge fanbase including western countries. Continue to react to them then you will discover you have been living under a rock. I would put Taylor Swift and BTS as biggest artists around the world as of the present. When most f BTS members complete their military duties by 2025, you will eventually see how huge they are once they put out new music and reunite for a world tour after 2025.

8:23 I'd actually say there's a LOT of Michael Jackson in this song, both musically & choreography, for sure. MJ was hugely influential in Asia in the 80s & 90s. BTS started as a Hip Hop/R&B group, but they don't just copy MJ's signature movements in the way that many others do. The members have actually spent their careers immersing themselves in the music & culture to get to this point, where they can truly embody the art, rather than merely imitate the style. P.S. I do hope you commit to jumping into the BTS rabbit hole - there's a crazy amount of content to watch & listen to and I suspect you're going to fall in love with their personalities & group dynamics.

I don't think a year is enough to get to all of them!!! You have to watch the music video and the dance practice at the same time. There's also docuseries in the Disney channel. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan translates to Bullet Proof Boy Scouts. 6 of them are still in Military Service for South Korea. Jimin is the one with the high voice and dangling earrings. 🙂. It is quite possible to have heard that song before since it was quite popular. There was definitely a Michael Jackson influence. They have a Tiny Desk (Home) mini concert from 2020 with three songs including Dynamite. They also have a medley of Bside songs about 10-11 min long that also was during the pandemic-Festa 2021.
These guys debuted in 2013. They have been focusing on solo stuff recently, but the group will be together again in 2025.

Hi, I'm a 37 year old ARMY, I want to tell a little story that might be a bit strange, I used to know BTS but didn't follow them, a few years ago I was going through a very difficult time, I had very severe depression and I wanted to commit suicide several times, because I felt the world was unfair to me and happiness felt far from me, then I found REELS on youtube there was a song BLUE & GREY with its translation, I felt that the song represented me at that time, then I found out the singer and found BTS, then I tried to search again and found ZERO O'CLOCK, for some reason those songs made me feel very calm at that time, then I found out more about them and found the words of RM (LEADER BTS) "when we feel sad they want to make the sadness less even if only 1% or 2%" and that's what I felt, maybe some people when I tell stories like this think that it doesn't make sense or is a lie, but that's what happened to me at that time, the more I get to know them the more I think that I am grateful for myself, I appreciate my life more and make my life happier than before

Isso aconteceu depois de um relacionamento de quase 23 anos e eu estava entrando em um processo depressivo. Não tivemos filhos e meu marido representava tudo para mim, ele era meu amigo, meu amante, meu amor, meu pai, meu irmão, trabalhávamos juntos, um verdadeiro companheiro de caminhada. Não consigo falar de momentos importantes da minha vida em que ele não tenha feito parte e sua ausência deixou um enorme vazio. Me vi completamente perdida e desorientada, como se a melhor parte de mim também tivesse morrido com ele. Por acaso, para me distrair, minha mãe (que já era fã do BTS e "apaixonada" pelo Jimin) me mostrou uma performance de um dos shows do BTS. I love you both! I am 60 and found them in 2019 and just wait until you see their little variety show called RUN BTS, it is sooooo much fun. I didn't understand a lick of Korean back then and I hated hip-hop/rap music, but "MIC Drop" completely changed my mind about everything I thought I knew and liked

Butter is another of their all English songs. It has a scene early on in the music video where the 7 BTS members are posing for a mug shot . You can pause on this scene and see each of the members names and ages.
BTS sing mostly in their native Korean but also have albums in Japanese. Since 2020, in a quest to constantly evolve, they began releasing more songs in all English. They chose these English songs for the universal appeal during those bleak pandemic days. As a newcomer I surprised myself by getting so immersed in their Korean and Japanese songs, probably because of the way BTS are able to convey emotion through their vocal delivery. Their choreography is not only top notch and perfectly executed but also helps impart the vibe of the song.

When I first saw this video on Tues Aug 25, 2020 @ 5:30PM EST (yes I know the exact moment in time), it was like I had been struck by lightning. My daughter had been a fan for a few years prior to that, and she sent me a text and said Hey Mom, BTS has a new song out called Dynamite ~ you should really check out their video. So, before I left work that day, I watched it. I fell so hard for these guys based on just that one song, I still can’t believe it. I now think of my life in 2 parts: Before BTS and After BTS. These 7 guys are TRULY incredible!!! Let me give you some video suggestions: Butter, Permission to Dance, Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears, Idol, Boy with Luv, Mic Drop, Dope, Fake Love, Danger, Fire, Boy with Luv (ft. Halsey), Anpanman (from the Today Show Concert Series), and the Baepsae (Silver Spoon) dance practice. The youngest member, Jungkook, has some amazing solo songs, such as Seven, 3D, and Standing Next to You (major Michael Jackson influence on that last song). Another member, Jimin, has some awesome solo songs too, including Like Crazy and Who. You guys really need to set aside some time, sit back, and let BTS amaze you. You will be fans for life. The group is called Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) which means Bulletproof boy scouts and they made their debut in 2013! In English some call them Bang tan seven There are seven 3 rappers and 4 vocalists ! They all dance but the members who are speciallized in dancing is J hope who also is a rapper and Jimin ( the guy who has high pitched voice ) Most of their songs are written and produced by them or in collab with others. Their performances are works of art! They started as a hip hop group but in time they have written all kind of genres of music from hip hop to pop, R&B EDM, Emo rock .etc! They are famous for their lyricism ! Their names and ages, starting from the leader , are: Kim Nam Joon stage name RM (29) KIm Seok JIn stage name JIN ( 31), Min Yoon Gi stage name SUGA ( 31) , Jung Ho Seok stage name J hope ( 30 ) Park Jim In stage name JIMIN ( 29) Kim Tae Hyung stage name V ( 28) and last Jeon Jeon JungKook stage name JUNGKOOK (26) Their fandom is called A.R.M.Y ( Adorable Representatives MC's for Youth) and for BTS counts as the 8th member of the group!
I'm 54 yr old and as a European Gen Xer I grew up with the legendary British music groups from 70's - 90's but since then there weren't any new groups or solo artists worth my attention! Until 2018 when I saw BTS's music video " Blood Sweat and Tears"! It was as if the door to music re opened for me! Now I am an official member of ARMY!

Loved to see your reaction, 69 year old ARMY here. It's my 3rd year being ARMY (name of the fandom) after listening to Magic Shop tried more songs and then I got hooked. I love their music and the lyrics of their songs which relate to all types, gender, age of people you name it. Their music heals people as they said BTS will find you or you will find them like for me my experience was I was recovering from my lung surgery 3 years ago then I fell into that rabbit hole and I never regret being a part of the huge fandom. There are 7 members of BTS. They began in 2013, so there is a massive back catalogue of music for you to explore. BTS is not like pop bands we have in the west, they started as a hiphop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. A lot of their best music is in Korean, so just put your subtitles on as the lyrics are very meaningful. They write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love. The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely skilled and experienced. They are amazing dancers also, Jimin being one of the main ones.
They are all undertaking mandatory military service in South Korea at the moment (apart from Jin, who has just been discharged). They undertook solo projects just before they enlisted, but will be back together as a group mid 2025, when they all have finished military. While they are in the military they can't do anything else, or even promote their music, so they prepared lots of music for release throughout the 1.5 years of their military service (their record company can release it if it was produced before enlistment, but they can't promote it themselves).
BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 90 million people of all ages as fans from young to older (I am 62). They sell out stadiums worldwide now as the biggest group in the world currently. Their last tour covered about 17 cities in 10 different countries, including Wembley. All sold out really quickly.
If you want to really see how diverse and talented they are, try a few of their korean songs after you have watched the other two english ones. Dynamite was made during covid to cheer their fans up, but became a worldwide chart topping track. They also made two other songs in english around the same time: Butter and Permission to Dance. The 3 english songs are poppy and cheerful, but the korean ones are amazing and I prefer them. Some MV's to start: Black Swan, Mic Drop, Fake Love, Idol, DNA, On Kinetic Manifesto, Dope, Fire, Not Today, Airplane pt 2, Save Me.
They also produce dance practice videos, which really show off their amazing skills in this area and are known for their complex choreography.
Because they started in a small record company and were not given many opportunities to promote themselves on shows etc. (in South Korea there are 3 big companies that have the monopoly), they started making their own online content where they took on challenges, called Run BTS. They also have shows where they went on holiday together. From these you can see that they are all close, like family, but also they are extremely funny and genuine men.

Most famous band in the universe that many western countries are unaware of them even though they have an international huge fanbase including western countries. Continue to react to them then you will discover you have been living under a rock. I would put Taylor Swift and BTS as biggest artists around the world as of the present. When most f BTS members complete their military duties by 2025, you will eventually see how huge they are once they put out new music and reunite for a world tour after 2025.

There's no need to interview them bec there are a lot of videos of their interviews available on YT that you can react to and I assure you that you are going to love them more. BTS have 3 English songs: Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance. So if you begin to react to their Korean songs pls turn on English captions to understand their lyrics bec aside from their top notch performance level are their lyrics. Dynamite is one of their few all English songs. While they are from the K-Pop industry, their songs encompass all kinds of musical genres. These guys are deep with lyrics and concept. I highly recommend you watch Blood, Sweat & Tears next. It is a song inspired by Hermann Hesse's novel, Demian. You will love it. There is even an explanation video created by xceleste if you would enjoy a deep dive into what the song and MV mean. The song and MV are deep.

Most of their songs are mostly or fully in Korean so I highly recommend watching official music videos (on the Hybe or Big Hit channels) with closed captions on.
BTS are really the new standard. They were an anomaly in the kpop industry, but you now see other groups taking a page from their playbook.

8:23 I'd actually say there's a LOT of Michael Jackson in this song, both musically & choreography, for sure.
MJ was hugely influential in Asia in the 80s & 90s. BTS started as a Hip Hop/R&B group, but they don't just copy MJ's signature movements in the way that many others do. The members have actually spent their careers immersing themselves in the music & culture to get to this point, where they can truly embody the art, rather than merely imitate the style.
P.S. I do hope you commit to jumping into the BTS rabbit hole - there's a crazy amount of content to watch & listen to and I suspect you're going to fall in love with their personalities & group dynamics.
