Hello 🙋♂️ my friend. Well done guys, you built the house quickly. The main thing is that it doesn't get blown away by a hurricane. And I wish you a Merry Christmas, my friend 🎄
@@mel2000, от грызунов и пожара не застрахован ни один дом, а то, что его сдует- очень похоже. Дом явно не выдержит нагрузок. Интересно будет на него посмотреть года через 3.
Clever and it definitely looks easy enough for anyone to build. My only real concerns are longevity and durability. How long will this Styrofoam house last and how well will it stand up to severe weather events?
It definitely doesn’t pass any building codes where I’m from. It’s fun until the city comes by and asks, did you just fall out of the coconut tree??? Then they fine u until it’s gone…
@@Youvide hello, as somebody who worked on few DIY projects, I can say few things. Styrofoam is not good to be floor. Cement for it, will crack fast. Styrofoam can be walls, be it needs some harder skeleton, like thin metal sheet frame. Or frame built of wooden boards. Unfortunately, your work, will not last long.
An interesting idea for assembling a storage shed. It appeared to be tongue and groove insulation, so should be sturdy enough, especially with the parging done, inside and out, to encapsulate it. I would have thought that you would have inset some wood for sturdier framing, where the doors and windows were put. I'm also assuming that the roof was somehow, tied into the walls, for strength in storms. I've built a couple of 'foamie' trailers, so I'm somewhat familiar with what you were doing. You must have gotten a great deal on the foam, otherwise I would think that lightweight framing and thin plywood would have been a bit less expensive. (or perhaps the same, depends where you are) Keep and eye on water drainage. You dug out and levelled the soil, but I didn't see any gravel put down and levelled, to provide drainage. An interesting build, and good video. I hope you get good use out of this shed. 😊
Oh, that's right, when a brick house is insulated with such a material, it's normal, but if they decided to build it from such a material, then oh, it's not an ecological material🤦♂️
This is much better for someone to do this with the same materials. Then to be out breaking the law. No crime was committed. Nobody got huit. May not be the most environmentally friendly way to build but. At least staying out of trouble.
So, it is a house that does not decompose, does not need replacement or repair, is waterproof, insect-proof, and animal-proof. Is cheap to build, and easily customizable. Made of materials used already to insulate homes.. Problem is, what?
The smartest solution for upcoming winter! Now, a layer of chain link fence cover should be... let's pray. Anyway, for insulation this is perfect, if the house escapes first winter, she can use it as a template to put on external protectors, knowing, everything are perfect inside.
@Chicago_Clout do you for some strange reason think that american women are not competent ? Also I don't think the woman in this video is american. You do know you can't make houses out of styrofoam right?
There are many of us out here but personally, all of the men that have been interested in me are turned off by my hands because I work with them all of the time on construction projects. Don't worry, though, there are many of us here, still. You just won't find us in bars or similar localities. 🙂
@@rcar9115 I agree with you. Though a lot of the women are single and do this type of thing out of necessity or they live on a homestead. And they don't put it on UA-cam.
Interesting and attractive. The down-side is that there's no inherent strength to it. It wouldn't take much to knock any part of it over. Other than that... Looks nice.
How true if the walls are covered with cement? Such walls are called Structural Insulated Panels, and are used extensively to build homes and garages today.
@davis.fourohfour : The cement covering makes absolutely no difference when there is no structural integrity nor support. It simply means a bigger mess to clean when the wall/s collapse or are knocked over.
You're going to need something else built around it on the outside to stabilize it that will never stand alone. And the floors they won't work they're going to crack. Like what if somebody just tripped and fell in the living room they would fall through the wall.
Вред здоровью, в доме находиться, если только от дождя спрятаться и бегом оттуда. Задумка хорошая только строй материалы другие нужно для постоянного проживания. Вы молодцы, упорные, трудолюбивые. 🌿🌿🌿👏👏❤👏👏🌿🌿🌿
Burlap coated (Painted on) cement is also an unique building material used in India. It can be used to build roadways as well and also used for roof spans up to 40 foot. Which in almost unbelievable considering the weight involved. I have not tested it but on paper this could work to make your Styrofoam House withstand some more than average weather patterns. The foundation would be the key. And yes you do have to figure it the additional cost to know if it is worth the effort and the expense. When working with third world countries we (engineers) have a lot more freedom about building materials and are able to make use of what is available locally. In the United States we are having to fight legally to allow the poor to make a home out of 12 x 24 storage sheds. A large mobile home manufacture in Tennessee has thrown a lot of money into the legal system against such living arrangements. Only in America.
@giuseppelavardera3220 that's right, but you didn't understand the fact that it's not simple foam plastic, it's dense, and secondly, it's reinforced on both sides with cement and mesh, which adds stability
@@Youvide conosco bene lo stirofoam e l'ho utilizzato come isolante, ti consiglio di strutturarla con uno scheletro di almeno 5x5cm in legno, facendo bene attenzione ai punti in squadra

I've seen similar temporary homes built, with a few differences. 1. The structure was built on a wooden/concrete base. 2. A layer of chicken wire was put on before the concrete on the outside. 3. The inside was covered by architectural plywood. The end result was a pretty, easily build structure that was put up to help people whose houses were destroyed by hurricanes. They could have a temporary shelter while rebuilding their homes.
A thief with a battery powered hand held skill saw can literally cut a hole in wood, metal and stone. So there's that. People determined to break in, will break in.
@bahnsidhes well we could add the fact that Styrofoam has pfas and leaches toxic chemicals into the air you'll breathe inside this! This is a cancer causing nightmare!
On a very windy day, my imagination sees that house flying like birds in the air. You should add wings to it. Wizard of Oz part two? Remember the house flying by? 🙊
There is a reason for framing or using column for support without supporting structure, you are building a house of cards. The cement or mud coating on the floors is such a thin shell, walking ir putting any weight in the floor will cause cracking as the Styrofoam compresses. Leaving the Styrofoam out of the floor, and going with packed dirt covered with wood or cement would hold up longer. And their is no structure to hold the walls up. The first time someone trips and falls intova wall the entire wall as well as parts of attached walls are all breaking out/apart. The roof, built like that will lift up when a wind gets under it is going to take oart of yhe walls its fastened too.
